I see '55 I click 🤩
That is a nice dragstrip.
This is new. The old Flying H was at Mid America Raceway at Wentzville,Mo. Long since gone but a great place it was. Also incorporated was a 5 mile road coarse. Last big race was when Paul Newman raced there/1982. Used to blast my MGB around that coarse. Lots of fun times.
Great information, thanks for watching
On motor? He was purging the nitrous at 40
Oh...maybe that was the radiator catch can acting up? 😁
@@badgerbait8351 That was definitely a nitrous purge. Fun fact: there are to many people who view these videos that know their shvt, so don't make up bs.
Nitrous did not kick in. Checking the system today
Bad relay
The car goes down in the 10's on a 150 shot. You will know when it's on the spray, it picks the wheels up and doesn't leave like a pig.
I really like the small strips best.
Absolutley LOVE IT! Any specs would be appreciated Thanx Kelly
Hey Kelly, thanks for the comment, hope you enjoy the other videos also. The motor is a DZ Performance 383, Brodix IK 200 heads, 10.8 compression, 236 duration hyd. roller cam, air gap intake with a 750 carb. The car is stock body, stock bench seats, turbo 350 with a 9" ford rear. It runs stock parts store shocks, slapper bars and 235 drag radials. Just having some fun for cheap.
It went 11.45, not 11:45.
Abusing a '55 chevy like that is a sin!
When you cannot build enough hp, you resort to nitrous!
That’s why I use nitrous lol
Uh. 11:52
went 11.35 this weekend on the motor and 10.63 with a little Nitrous
@@BuckMccoyshillbillygarage All very impressive, it's just that the title (which can be easily edited by you) says "11:45".
It went 11.45 at Flying H a couple of weeks ago, it went 11.35, 11.36, 11.37 last weekend at Mokan. It went 10.63 on a 150 shot. You can check out the other videos for those passes. The problem on the bottle is that it is on the shift light at the traps on a motor pass and with the nitrous the little 236 duration cam runs out of steam and is beyond its power band. We were also a little low on bottle pressure, with some tweaks it should go 10.40's on the 150 shot.
It looks like my wife posted the 11.52 video rather than the 11.45 pass on this video from Flying H. My wife and I just started this channel so we're still learning. We're going to work on combining footage and putting together some fun videos.
My '57 Ford would eat that '55 chevturd for a snack.
That does not sound like a very healthy diet
@@BuckMccoyshillbillygarage healthy enough to turn mid 9's ET's. My '57 Ford Custom 2 dr sedan set three NHRA class records and I still own the car. It won its bracket at NE Nationals in 2022 and 2023 and likely will again June 2024. FYI, no '55 Chevturd has ever beat it since 1970.
@@sergeantmasson3669 I like 57 Fords also! Sounds like a cool car with some great racing history. Maybe we will get to see you at track someday. Keep the old 57 going and have fun this summer.
@@BuckMccoyshillbillygarage 200+ wins and three NHRA class championships. My '57 Ford Custom 2 dr sedan has treated me well. Best part is that its street legal.
@sergeantmasson3669 exactly what class in NHRA are you competing in ?? SS/AH is mid 9 et but that class is full of lightweight hemi Darts and Barracudas and your sure not running against them. A factory 57 Ford comes with at best a 332 cubic inch engine and weighs at a minimum 3400 pounds. It would take 750hp to push 3400 pounds to 9.50 et. That isn't happening with ANY 332 cubic inch Ford engine in any sportsman class of NHRA racing I have ever heard of. So enlighten me.
Junk
I know. You can have a lot of fun with some old junk on the cheap. We've had a blast with this old turd over the last few years.
