  • My brother ended up stepping in a fire ant hill once when we lived in Texas. They were EVERYWHERE and when he got bitten/stung so many times all I could do was watch in horror before he ran off crying and wrapped cold, wet paper towels around his feet and no one could find him until an hour later, still bawling his eyes out it hurt so bad. I only wish back then he had what you did at the time of this video. Would’ve saved my poor sweet brother so much pain.

  • About 5 years ago I was stung by something in the dark in the woods and I have never known what it was. It was awfully painful and i was kept awake most of the night from burning pain and muscle spasms. After watching this video am I certain it was fire ants.

  • European fire ants are fairly common where I live.. I remember when I was around 10 y.o, playing hide and seek and went to hide into this bush. -not knowing their nest was just beneath it. I got bitten literally all over my body because there was some in the bush itself too, not just on the ground. Lol. Screamed my whole way running back home and didn't wanted to play hide and seek for a good while.

  • I ordered fire out on Amazon after seeing this. I have been needing something to keep with me in my geocaching kit. I got bitten a lot unfortunately last spring. Once was even when I was standing under a tree and a fire ant literally fell from the tree onto my arm.

    • @@elias_xp95 same i hate those little buggers. I work on a dairy farm and i went up into the top of the sheep barn (my boss has sheep too) to get hay down and a bunch of mud wasps started droping from the ceiling and flying around me. That was the fastest i have ever been down that ladder.

    • Well getting swarmed by bees is definitely worse since it’s not a simple matter of pulling them all off. Hell Coyote got his face warped by a failed honey bee mask. It’s just the sheer quantity of fire ant stings that makes it as bad as it is, and he intentionally lets them stay on his skin as long as possible lol.

  • I live in Texas so these ants are constantly getting me I at least get stung by these ants at least three times a year and it hurts every single time it’s usually on my foot in fact I got stung a few weeks ago also just to let you know don’t wear socks when you have one all it does is irritate the ant bite

  • I remember when I was a little kid around age 6, I was at a friend’s farm and while my mom and friend were talking, I literally was standing on a fire ant pile. I instantly felt sharp pain on my feet (I wore slippers) and I looked down and saw ants all over my leg. My mom and friend heard me screaming so they saw me covered in ants so they lifted me onto a truck and started slapping the ants off my legs. I still remember that day and it was hell. A lesson from that day was to always look at where you are standing or where you are going.

  • I got 20-30 fire ant stings one time and nearly passed out. Not necessarily from pain, but I think I had an allergic reaction to them. My heart rate was wild, I was sweating and shivering, and I was extremely light headed and had to leave work. The itching was nothing compared to the terror of my body's reaction to them.

  • When I was 4 I stood on an fire ant hill for like a solid minute before I ran away from it screaming from it. It was so long ago but I can still remember seeing my legs covered in them. I was bitten so bad I spent a few days laying in my parents bed with my legs covered in neosporin. My older brother who was with me desperately swatted them off of me and ended up with dozens of bites on his arms. It was so awful that even though I was that little I can still recall it so clearly/

  • In the area I grew up in Georgia, we had a wilderness recreation area (a lake and a trail around the lake to hike) and fire ants had COMPLETELY taken over the parking lot. You couldn't stand still for more than a second before getting swarmed by them. They basically formed a carpet (ok not that dense, but at least one ant every square inch.) So you always had to be dancing on your toes getting out of the car etc
