It's not a harmless kick. The ring girl didn't consent to being kicked by him. She's not in the ring to be kicked. She doesn't get paid to be kicked. She's not his fighting opponent. He is not allowed to touch her. Just because someone is a MMA fighter doesn't give them carte blanche to touch anyone. There is a reason he is being fined and banned and that reason isn't because this interaction was "harmless".

Red shorts sucker punches blue shorts out of spite. Organizers talk to Red shorts, ask him to apologize to the ring girl. He refuses, saying the ring girl was inappropriate being in the ring (he later gave a half-assed apology). Then, after Red shorts leaves the ring, an unrelated fighter that has beef with blue shorts storms the ring. Blue and this fighter have an argument and swing at each other. Then unrelated fighter and all of his friends rush the ring in a brawl. That gets broken up, but then while blue is walking by the ring later, unrelated fighter and his friends return, jump him, and supposedly break his legs. So in short, Red kicks girl, loses the match, his reputation, and his place in the organization. Blue wins, confronts thug, and then thug and his friends break blue's legs.
