Both are awesome fighters, Xie is fierce but Kingad seems to have more experienced and Referee is doing a great job here. Good match ONE. The decision is fair.

@@mp80w yeah he headbutt the side of the ear but still prohibited. You're not allowed to hit using your head. It's not about head to head headbutt, it's about hitting using your head. And also it is clear that he hit using knee to the back of his head not on the shoulder. Watch clearly, it even replayed twice. I am filipino but I'd say Xie would have won if he hadn't done those violations.

they were pumping designer steroid similar to the ones pacman Pacquiao was taking. Illegal steroid is very popular in the Philippines because it cannot be detected by testing. It enhanced the fighters endurance and strength so they don't get tired during the fight. This is fraud.

@@lmoral222 Those fouls are the result of his frustration. Xie dominated his previous fights which I think 5 consecutive wins. Xie was good but became frustrated and desperate for a clear win. Good decision from the judges.
i like how kingad goes out of his way to expose only the back of his head when he realizes wei is going for head knees. truly the ultimate fighting strategy.

the irony of turtling down and exposing the back of your head to any incoming attack for protection. i know the rule is there to protect fighters, but the fighters themselves should try as much as possible to protect their vital spots instead of relying on rules.

It's not turtle down, it's natural instincts to turn your back because it is too painful to be hit in your face too many times.
I feel that if back of head is protected by hand than knee hit should be ok. It is responsibity of fighter to protect himself.

Should have been a draw, but I see how the judges gave it to Kingad. It was upon Xie to sway the judges in a close fight because of Kingad's greater popularity. I don't agree with popularity swaying judges, but it is evident or happens especially when it comes to the promotion of the league or organization.
My unsolicited advice is for you to have your eyes checked by eye specialist I can refer you to a good one

I don’t think it was necessarily popularity. I had no idea who Kingad was before watching this, but I could see that if it was not going to be a draw, it would go Kingad’s way. Xie surprised me with how static he was in this fight, and while I commend Xie’s ability to take a thousand leg kicks, he really needed to do more, as he has done in other bouts. In the end, I think Kingad just landed more strikes (even though they were absorbed), and that led to the decision.
Xie the better of the two, but those but the head butt and knee to the head in the moment cost him the fight. Whether it was intentional or errors on Xie's part. To be a Champion, you have to control even in the moment.

xie wei was absorbing a lot of leg kicks and there wasn't much dominance of either on the ground although danny was bit more in control. so it was a fair decision even if wei didn't have violations he couldn't win this

yeah and that's what's different about xie because both of those were rather light, which is how shoalin trainees communicate "hey I'm not gonna but I could kill you right here", so his confusion is real. there's so much bias against him in the video you can hear the crowd erupt "JIE WEI JIE WEI" and Joe goes "crowd excited for the other guy"

The judges had already made their decision before the fight. It’s so obvious. Unless there was a KO or submission, there is no way the Chinese fighter was going to win if it came to a decision by the biased judges.

Xie dominated the fight only loss because of illegal blows. Headbutts was on Xie, but the knee was on Kingad. Kingad turn to cover his head which show his neck. If I were Kingad team I would not give Xie a rematch. In those strike exchanges Kingad was scared of Xie's power and accuracy.
We are watching MMA not a street fighting. There are rules how to points a strike, how to score. First round, second round clearly kingand wins. Last part kingad tries to risk that's why xie got some points. But your "dominated" Term is an overstatement. Kingad wins based on rules and based on the expert not based on opinion.

No disrespect for the UFC fighters, I just find the fight in ONE or Glory are more entertaining than UFC fight. May be the gloves used in UFC are lighter and thus make the fighters are cautious and less engaging ?. Occasionally you see UFC fight interesting but more and more I watch UFC less.
