Paul Gilbert is that rare breed of tasteful virtuoso / & laid back guy. Paul seems to have an endless array of musical expressions and phrases.
One of the greatest of all time, for me 👍

Thanks for the playlist. FYI: the Boston song is "Peace of Mind," not "Piece of Mind."
@@johnny-r 👍🤘
@@emabgd2133 You're a man of honor. Not too many of those left.
Medley after pie includes "Dear Mr. Fantasy" .He is a master of combining riffs😊
Thank you m8
This dude is so underrated!!! One of the best of all time. More people need to see this. Great job Mr Gilbert!!!
Ishhh not my opignon haha
Underrated??! I've been following every move of his since 1989 at M.I. G.I.T. and I can assure you that fellow guitarists who don't like him or appreciate him are very few and the rest are envious of his musicianship.
@@shanedefeo6881not really
He has never been underrated, but an aknowledged world class top guitarrist since the mid 80's
But but but Joe Bonamassa 😆😆🤦🏻♂️
His note selection and flow just seems effortlessly to come from his soul. So tasteful !
is definitely became ONE with the guitar.
Are you watching something different man? This is technical guitar learned from guitar school. That's why his blues sounds like it does! Listen to Gilmour or BB!
Mr. Gilbert is an amazing teacher, guitar player and human being.
He's the coolest virtuoso guitar player. He's not using any effects that would make him sound better than he is. I love the dryness of his tone. It's not saturated with delay, hours, reverb and whatever else.
Gilbert is that rare example of a guitar virtuoso whose playing is techincally proficient but at the same very soulful and tasty. His bends are mindblowing.
Deeerrrr
It’s a snooze fest sausage party.
@@spacejockey4746 then go somewhere else you buzzkill. Ever heard about euphoria? We like him, that's why we hype him. Dude is just one of the most likeable guitar heroes ever. And a friggin' music encyclopedia. You don't have to like it, but stop being such a party pooper.
@@axnjxn91 his name is space jockey can you blame him
always nails his stuff. he’s unparalleled in this respect
love the sound, fairly low gain, very organic, dynamic, its singing. there's no hiding there, the technique is so transparent. he's feeding off the sound, you can clearly see his playing is so inspired and he's really enjoying it.
No doubt! No "bees caught in a jar" sound here! Wish I was in a position to make that much noise. I have to use a (welp!) modeler.
Amp compression and talent trump the trappings of effect pedals et al.
But i think his sound today is too much fuzzy, really miss the old paul gilbert clean sound.
Fairly low gain ? Lmao
@@andytemmons agree, i really like his tone in the Get Out Of My Yard Album.
Paul will always be one of my favorites! Amazing player!
Who wouldn't want to play in this guy's band, besides another guitarist. Straight rock. Great tone.
I opened for him with my Band Dionysian at this show, was truly awesome
Damn.... Paul brings new meaning to the phrase, "boy he sure can make that guitar talk!" Yeah, sing, shred, and scream to.. i am humbled by his mastery 👍👍
He never runs out ideas... absolutely incredible ...
Paul is the best dude - always a pleasure to watch the love he brings to his playing. Watching him give props to his bass player just solidifies that in my mind.
I love you Paul I love musicians who are true and real and speak with their instruments
Fixed-Bridge No-Whammy-Bar Brute-Force Guitar Legends 🤘🤘I ran out of composite hyphenated words 🤣🤣🤣 Paul Gilbert & Michael Schenker 🙏🙏masters of melodic guitar
also: no disgusting cheesy pinch-harmonics 🤣🤣🤣thank fucking god 🤣🤣🤣
I can't believe I'm watching a show like this from my room, and for free!! Thanks for posting!! Congratulations from Brasil !!
Legend...Paul is simply entertaining and an absolute joy to watch!!
Paul has inspired me to love guitar for what it is again. Been playing guitar for about 18 years now. Started to get into a slump then Paul, John 5, and Buckethead pulled me out.
56:00 Van Halen "I'll Wait" my fav vh track, incredible Paul!
Paul is in his stride. What a groovy show. He is smooth yet passionate stepping out. A couple of my favorite DVDs that I listen to once or more a month for years are the tributes he did with Mike P. Rock on Paul.
Paul Gilbert is at the top of his game right now
Movie
Really? When he played his previous Ibanez strat models he was actually better imo. Nevertheless he is still rocking the show
@@chocolatecookie8571 his language with the instrument has grown bigger, i think he is at his prime.
He’s always been at the top of his game, but he keeps changing the game!
@@chocolatecookie8571 better? He just played differently, he can still play all the same things he used to, if he wants
As a guitar player "wanna-be", thank you for showing Paul the whole show!! This is a great show, he is so much fun to watch play and he is so grateful!
Adoro o Paulo Gilberto
Paul Gilbert is the Keanu Reeves of the guitar world
yessss
Maybe as a Human being. Gilbert *much* better at his craft.
@@springbloom5940 It's a flawed argument because it doesn't really matter. Doesn't have to be a competition. They're both awesome at their crafts, but not only are both of their crafts very different from each other, but they're also both artforms and therefore subjective to a large degree. For whatever reason, in both appearance and personality, as well as position in their respective industry, they remind me of each other. Both seem like very positive, likeable, dedicated experts yet remain humble, and just generally seem like someone who I would wanna be friends with haha.
@@TheSpartan_G Correction, it was a flawed assertion.
@@springbloom5940 True. Could be both I guess tho because were there actually to be an argument about it, the argument itself would be flawed because there's no definitive correct answer. EDIT: If you mean my original comment is a flawed assertion, yeah it's just a goofy opinion/comparison, it's not that deep lol. I thought you were correcting when I said "flawed argument" to "flawed assertion." "Person A is better than Person B" is entirely subjective when referring to whether or not someone is better at an artform, let alone 2 separate artforms, and is mostly what I was referring to. It's completely fine not to like one or the other, but to not like something doesn't mean it's bad, so it's impossible to say which one is "better" than the other in that case because it doesn't exist.
Met paul around 500 times in 30 years, always humble and kind, and he always remembers my name! Goes out of his way to talk to me! Maybe it's because we both went to different musician institutes, his L.A mine london
Paul can make his guitar sing‼️ Yes,it's singing‼️‼️😲😀🙌🙋🙆💃
Amazing!!!
Thanks for share, great as always.
Mille mille Grazie 😍👍👍👍
Awesome!
That flow, the musicality, it sounds adventurous, unlike other music of the day. This guy has been the best in the biz since the Hot Licks VHS tapes. What an inspiration! Go Paul!
Seriously? He’s a great player, but if this “sounds adventurous, unlike other music of the day,” you need to broaden your musical listening habits. This is dull as fuck.
@@spacejockey4746 What do you suggest to invigorate my senses?
@@carguy3460 Notice the crickets!
I bought his first DCI video back in the '80s and it got my alternate picking up to speed very quickly.
REH
Even Paul's tone is improving! Going between the melody and the keyboard part in Baba O'Reiley was epic!
Hell yeah Paul is a beast 🤟
Thank you so much, man!!!!!
Wow thanks for posting
Baba O'Riley was incredible!!! gotta listen again.
Thank you!
i don't know what to say, this Guy is incredible... Love Paul Gilbert! Wow!
He still seems like a kid … love that…
I just love this.
Paul always freakin flawless and 1 of thr most passionate in whatever he plays
God! Oh Dear God! ..... Please send Paul Gilbert to play in my home town.
One of the true masters of our time . Always amazing . Timeless talent .
This is AWESOME
True professional, true musician, true man!
Starting 1:14:07 his rendition of House of the Rising Sun.....just sensational....ive never heard anything like it. Wow what talent.
Técnica, Feeling, musicalidade!
Love Paul's playing. Always brings a smile to my face...💚🎸
Great to see Paul out playing again!
This is great on all levels music can be great. It’s technical, melodic, rhythmic, nostalgic, adventurous, emotional and FUN!
His version of Baba O'Riley was outstanding. Killed it. Amazing!
Love this song!! 💚🎸
Beautiful playing
That was so good. PG’s amazing. Got to give props to the other guys on stage too. That was a lot of music.
The letters indicated on his guitar is "菊水" (kikusui). It's a brand of famous Japanese sake😅. I think Paul Gilbert is one of the highest level of the guitar player who achieved the speed, accracy and melody with keeping the total balance. I'm happy to live in same age he lives.
What a incredible guitar player 🎸
Well that was awesome!
Really cool what he's doing with vocal line Melody's.. and still can shred scarified like taking a walk in the park... Paul Gilbert is a rare breed of musicality..
Bravo !
Excellent set!!
I'll Wait has always been one of my favorite VH songs, such a treat to see Paul play it :)

So awesome! Paul Gilbert RAWKS! Thanks for this upload!
The Master. Period. Many thanks lad to repost this. You're lovely.
Awesome playing and what a great tone
Born in 1962, and appreciate all the great guitar players from before, and during my lifetime, in various styles, and this guy pays tribute to many of them, but even though I’m not a thrash/widdly guy - I’ve settled on PG as my all time no1 guitar player 👍
He's really fun to watch! He always moving!
Bravo mr Gilbert ! 🧑🎤❤️❤️❤️
Always loved Paul's guitar playing
I am absolutely a stunned mullet, (Kiwi saying) jaw dropping guitar playing Awesome 😊😊😊😊😊

Just a bit stiff, I dunno. It was just a joke 🙏🙏

Pioneering a new evolution for the guitar.. never heard Stevie Nick's Fleetwood Mac vocal lines done on guitar.. pretty freaking awesome..

Great musician! Seems like a nice guy too, whom I find highly commendable
Awesome
Amazing Mr.Big Gilbert!
Great player.👏🌞👍
Seen Paul way back in Racer X, just keeps reminding people how every year with hard work practice and dedication is truly a technical master! Keeping so much timing and songs in the old noodle is not easy. Keep chuggin Paul!
Without a doubt one of the most gifted guitar players... Simply awesome. One of my super guitar gods.
Enthusiastic! Love the energy.
