This is a deceptively simple machine that has been highly optimized. I built mine less than a year ago. I have two Wanhao D6 printers and the Prusa i3 is so much better it is amazing. My other printers needed so many upgrades and many weeks of tuning to just work. The i3 print quality was better than my other printers on the first try. To have consistent results always do the same thing each time. Same room temp. Dry the filament before printing. Wipe the build surface clean with rubbing alcohol to remove dust and skin oil. Adjust adhesion by raising print and build plate temp to increase adhesion.

I recently built this printer in 14 hours. I took my time, was careful, checked my work, and had only one minor problem. Benchy exposed a misalignment of the X belt. Easy to fix. All subsequent prints flawless. This is all with the included PLA. I will switch to Prusa PETG soon. Building the printer gave me a lot of insights that will help when doing maintenance and repair.
I agree. I bought the kit version of the printer so I could assemble it myself and learn how everything worked. It helped a lot!
I found that with my I3 MK3S+ , I need to use the glue stick with PLA but with PETG, it stuck to my satin print bed with no additional adhesive.
Sometimes I use a glue stick and I also find hairspray works well with the satin bed. I pretty well use these for every print because for some reason I can’t get anything to stick without it 🤷🏼♂️

Hi, thanks for the review, do you think that now in 2022 still worth!? because it's old now but we know that it works ! i saw that some clone like 3deer are also good based on the same frame and materiel but have lcd screen and biger print volume so , it make me hesitate ! ... i know that prusa is prusa ... thanks
I've been using this printer for a while and it's very reliable. The only issues I've had are filament jams once and a while and sometimes it's tricky to get the prints to stick to the print bed, but these are issues with the settings I've been using, not the actual printer. Other than that I've had no problems! The things I print are pretty small so the print volume is fine for my needs, but if you want to print something very large you'll need to print in multiple part and join them together regardless of which printer you get. Prusa is a workhorse and you can leave it printing for days without any issues. Also, If you wanted a nicer LCD screen, I believe you can buy it as an optional item. Hope this helps!

@@paulpgabriele I've had my Prusa for nearly 3 years now, running between 3-5 days per week every week since unboxing and assembling: and have literally done nothing besides general cleaning/preparation and haven't had a single problem. Probably less than 10 failed prints out of a couple thousand, which is incredible, it just works. But I have considered modding my MK3S so having nothing break has meant no "excuse" to change things up and customize my printer. I've considered building another Prusa with the Bear upgraded frame kit just so I'll have a printer I can experiment with and make "my own" while my original MK3S just works.
I would love to know if Prusa is better than a Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro with Klipper
I've only tried the Prusa...Does anyone else have a Creality that can comment 🤔 I wouldn't mind knowing as well.
@@paulpgabriele I would say out of the box the MK3S+ is better than the ender 3 S1 but as long as you know how to turn your printer properly the Ender 3 S1 should give the same quality prints with some tuning.
Ender 3 S1 Pro w finely tuned klipper seems good enough now to be on par with it
I've owned an S1 for months... I've just purchased a prusa for my collection. I've upgraded the hotend to all metal on S1. I always stayed away from the prusa because it's 'old' tech. I will say I've got almost 6 years experience with 3d printing. Wish I purchased one 6 years ago... It nocks spots of the S1. I had a spool of petg which the S1 always had slight issues to print with. I put it through the prusa and it printed flawless on a stock profile. The prusa has been the only printer I've ever owned where I don't even watch the first layer go down. I feel so confident in the machine! I've built a voron and was happy with that but the prusa is just so reliable. If I got a complicated print the first printer I think of is prusa. Buy a prusa. I was even considering a bambu labs printer but so happy I went with prusa. I'm going to give it a few more months and I'm ordering a second.
