The Crown’s Elizabeth Debicki Revisits Princess Diana’s Most Memorable Looks | Life in Looks

British Vogue presents Princess Diana’s Life in Looks with The Crown star, Elizabeth Debicki. Ahead of the release of Netflix’s The Crown Season 5, Elizabeth Debicki takes Vogue through Princess Diana’s 20 most memorable looks, from the infamous revenge dress to her first British Vogue cover in the ’80s featuring chandelier diamond earrings.
When asked for her favourite look, Debicki opted for Diana’s blazer, jeans and cowboy boots ensemble from the Guards Polo Club in Windsor (1988): “This is what I think we think of when we think of Diana in the ‘90s. The cowboy boots are incredible; we had these remade - I was obsessed with them. She was probably the first Royal to ever wear a baseball cap in public. Just to see a Royal off-duty and make it so cool. I think it’s so much a sense that she made all the choices herself”. Watch the full episode of British Vogue’s Life in Looks, as we break down Princess Diana’s 20 most memorable looks.

  • Elizabeth Debicki is such a great choice to play Princess Diana. She has that same quiet, serene aura that Diana had, even in her darkest times. I loved Emma Corin as well, she displays the wide-eyed naivety of the young princess very well. The casting for this show is always spectacular!

    • I think Debicki is perfect in the face. The rest of the shape is drastically animating the skinny persona for me. Diana wanted to be like that; she didn't look it all the time. The photos vs the show clip they gave here just really tells. The last actress hit the look of Diana perfectly, to me.

  • She is perfectly cast as Diana. Tall, willowy, imbued with this inherent sense of refined, regal grace and delicate elegance from the way she speaks to her mannerisms. Elizabeth's depiction on The Crown will be THE definitive on-screen portrayal of the Princess of Wales, bar none. Just the way she speaks about her life with such invested passion is a joy to watch in itself.

  • This woman does a stellar job as the “older” Diana. It’s an incredibly difficult role to play because quite frankly Diana was just so uniquely beautiful… 99.99% of female actresses can’t even hold a candle to her perpetual and unique radiance. I LOVE the scene in the movie theater (Diana would go to the movies by herself in a wig and glasses!!) and at the ballet all alone in her box. Debecki isn’t a dead-ringer but she definitely captures her confoundingly doelike qualities

  • I think if Harry or William were watching this, they'd be happy with Elizabeth portraying their mother. She's not robbing their mother of her magic to make money for Netflix, and you can thoroughly feel it. There's such sincerity emanating from her in this video, genuine love for Diana and her story, and for the boys as well. There's no one that could be more likable, even the Royals couldn't ask for more

  • It is so lovely to hear an actor speak so movingly, tenderly, and insightfully about the person she is portraying. I have always been awed by this capacity of actors to turn their energy into a prism, a channeling of the person they are inhabiting. Elizabeth Debicki was the perfect choice--thank you!

You can hear it in the way she speaks of Diana just how much respect she has for her 🥹 As someone who has been obsessed with Elizabeth for quite some time now I must admit I was thrilled when I found out about her as Diana for The Crown because I knew straight away that if someone could be as good as Emma that would be her. Can’t wait to see her shine and receive all the ovation she deserves in season 5!! 🫶🏻

Love the black dress the day charles admit his adultery. She looked sexy no matter she had some pain inside her.
