  • I don't understand why everyone have negative comments about Angel, its basketball and competitive and if you are a real baller than you can understand my comment. They were playing for the National Championship Title PLAYING FOR A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE WILL NOT BE JUST A REGULAR GAME. ANGEL SHOWS LEADERSHIP, PICKS HER TEAM UP, NOT SELFISH, DOESN'T MAKE IT ABOUT HER, SHE TOOK OVER THE HUDDLE TO LET THEM KNOW THEY ARE GOOD, WHEN THAT FIGHT BROKE OUT AGAINST SOUTH CAROLINA, SHE DIDN'T EVEN ENGAGE NOR RUN TO THE MADNESS SHE WALKED OVER TO THE BENCH AND SAT DOWN. THATS WHY I HATE WE HAVE SOCIAL MEDIA BECAUSE EVERYBODY FOLLOWS SO IF ONE PERSON DOESNT LIKE ANGEL THAN YOU GOT 11 MORE THAT DON'T LIKE HER. FOLLOWERS. SHE IS TOUGH AND TALKS MESS SOOOOOO WHAT. and she sat the whole first half THE BENCH GOT THAT TITLE AND SHE DIDN'T CARE. SHE WAS PROUD OF THE BENCH.

This is my first time watching this game. Thats what the media gets for focusing so much on Caitlin Clark. When Carson started making those 3 they briefly showed her, but the camera stayed on Clark, even when her teamates scored.

  • Iowa didn’t prepare for the possibilities of another team watching film of their strategy to let a team shoot. When Iowa adjusted, LSU was already in a zone; it didn’t matter if the shots were contested or uncontested. AND Johnson was a quiet assassin for LSU

      @samuelford771@samuelford771 Жыл бұрын
    • Naw Carson was the quiet assassin for LSU, Iowa must have gone to sleep on the scouting report, Jasmine Carson once hit 14 threes in a game, and holds the State Girls High School record for most threes in a game & season. She was bound to break out soon. She may have broken or tied the NCAA record if they kept feeding her the ball in the second half, but Alexis Morris slowed that down, didn't want Carson to get all the attention. Notice Morris was the only one on the sidelines not cheering when Jazz was knocking down those threes.

      @danielpires8940@danielpires89407 ай бұрын
    • @danielpires8940 maybe Morris was just focused because she knew she had to be locked in on defense once she got back in and she's their closer in the 4th quarter. Iowa had no answer for her mid range game in the 4th.

  • My take on the game: Iowa had one game-changer in Caitlin and LSU had multiple game-changers. They practically led from start to finish. I can see why Iowa's fans and sympathisers decided to dwell on the non-factor; that is Reese's gesture. LSU made them look ordinary, so they had to find an excuse.

    • Yeah, Carson SCORCHED Iowa in the first half, and Alexis Morris did it to them in the second half, especially 4th quarter. She also drew Czinano's 5th foul. BUT...BUT a huge sequence was with 1:03 left in 3rd quarter. Reese drawing Czanino's 4th foul AND Clark's Tech (her 4th) on the same play.

    • Im going to add to what you said. You have to add Poa as well. She only had 6 points, but it was her defense on Clark that was big. Clark picked up two fouls on offense trying to make space from Poa. That was big. Also I would have thought in that Carolina/Iowa game that Brea Beal would have been on her like white on rice. That was kinda a bad decision on Dawn,

  • Worth noting that was LSUs bench beating Iowa's first string in the 2nd. Reese, Morris and Poole were all on the bench.. and dont blame it on fouls, bc if thats the case their coach should have used Mulkeys strategy and sat them until the 3rd. lSU was able to distribute the fouls around, so their starters came back in fresh in the 3rd.

  • LSU won this game because Jasmine Carson had her greatest career first half in the final game of the 2023 NCAA, WBB championship. She hit eight 3-pointers in a row in the first 20 minutes. She has never done that before. In fact, the LSU WBB team never shot 8 out of 8 three-pointers in any first half they ever played. Moreover, Jasmine Carson didn't shoot 100% of her 3-pointers for the NCAA tournament or the regular playing season. She isn't even a career 40%, three-point shooter for her career at LSU. Furthermore, LSU averages 5 three-pointers per game as a team. Yet, Jasmine had "it" when "it" mattered the most - sort of like Bob Beaman's gold medal long jump. Or, Max McGees' Superbowl TD. Or, Bill Mazerowski's World Series Home Run. Jasmine Carson performed her best when it mattered the most! In a way, Jasmine Carson's 24 points in the first half were similar to Caitlin Clark's 41 points against South Carolina. Both ladies responded to a huge challenge against a top-tier opponent with the game of their lives. Without Clarke's 41 points & one of a kind, triple-double Iowa would have lost to South Carolina. Similarly, without Jasmine Carson's 8 for 8 shooting, LSU would have lost to Iowa. Furthermore, Caitlin Clarke is a 45% career, NCAA record-holding, three-point shooter; whereas; whereas Jasmine Carter is a career 33%, 3-point shooter. But numbers don't matter to athletes like Max McGee, Bob Beaman, Bill Mazerowski or Jasmine Carson! Without a doubt, Jasmine Carson was the "tail that wagged the dog". She was kryptonite to "Supergirl" Caitlyn Clarke. No matter what, nobody can ever take away Jasmine's fabulous performance and the contribution she made to her team in the most important win they all ever shared. Never say that what Jasmine did was luck. Just like Bob Beaman, Max McGee, & Bill Mazerowski, it was the result of hours of practice & experience. Good on you, Jasmine. I know you made your momma & your papa cry the warmest tears of pride.

  • Iowa just could not recover from Jasmine Carson off the bench 21 points in the secound quarter. I think she had 5 points the entire tournament leading into this game. Then Iowa couldn't stop Alexis Morris in the 4th quarter. LSU still was lucky to make it to the finals. Utah really had them beat. Jenna Johnson with Utah had a chance to take Utah up by one or at least tie the game. She shot a air ball and then bricked one off the rim with secounds to play in the game. LSU was only averaging 5 three pointers a game and hit over 10 for this game. Iowa still made it interesting, but LSU can to play as a team. Angel Reese said after the game " this ain't no one man show".
