Keown is a mug. If it was Arteta who said this, Keown would be saying that he was onto something and there was an agenda against Arteta and Arsenal if anyone disagreed. Everything Klopp has said about the broadcasters over the years has been spot on and come to fruition. Look at the increasing rate of injuries picked up nowadays and muscle related ones at that. How dumb do you have to be not to see it. We do not need to watch football every day, so organisations need to stop creating more games and broadcasters need to stop putting European competing teams during stupid time slots

God forbid these poor below minimum wage footballers have get a normal job and have to get up early every day. Theyv changed the way there season has played out giving them less time too prepare for games etc.Changing start times at the last minute .The money theyv got out of this season won’t touch the sides.
Prime example was arsenal played on Tuesday night against Chelsea and Sunday against spurs Liverpool played Everton on Wednesday and West Ham away in london on Saturday half 12 It clearly isn’t fair and when you compare liverpools half 12 kick offs to everyone else it’s not even a debate. Klopp is 100% correct Liverpool are given the 1230 sat kick off way, way, WAY more than anyone else. On several occasions some first team players had only returned late the night before, from internationals on long haul flights ie Allison Becker from Brazil, Nunez from Uruguay, Diaz returning from Columbia etc Unfair to force them to play early with jet lag when it’s not equally done to Man City and others

Liverpool have had more 12.30 kick offs than any other team. That's just statistically accurate. Klopp was talking about it because it's not relevant to him this week, he's talking about something that should change in general. No midweek team should have a 12.30 kickoff. It's not rocketscience
NHL players (top pro-hockey league) play 82 regular season games travelling all over North America. Sometimes two in two days. After that, they can play up to 4 playoff series (up to, though not typically, 28 games) of the most intense, physically demanding games you can imagine. I do agree, however, that the league should balance some of the games for teams in the CL knock-out stages.
I love Klopps candidness. It's absolutely refreshing.

Sky and BT are horrible they don’t even show the game. Constantly playing or showing replays and then miss the next action. The atmosphere at the ground never comes through as it’s diluted out for some reason. The commentators talk over the songs before the game where really the cameras should be soaking up the atmosphere before the game. But they go to close up shots of managers faces right before kick off. Sacrilege! Like footy on tv don’t get me wrong but even goals get missed due to replays and commentators need to know when to shut up.
Isn’t this to do with sports science, the number of injuries and having a any disadvantage in a competitive field? Most managers speak about this, not just Klopp

Have you actually seen the stats on Liverpools 12.30pm kick offs, miles ahead of every other club. Liverpool have suffered a lot of injurys. So no doubt its fair for klopp to say, if there wasnt so many games and such quick turn arounds for his team, some of those injuries dont happen. We only have to look to the US who have multi-million dollar sports with massive off seasons, to try and make it as entertaining as possible by reducing injury and fatigue. Sky and TNT are actually biting the hand that feeds them, as eventually the product will get worse if they keep absusing the players.

Man City have negligible global appeal compared to the long term big clubs like United, Liverpool and Arsenal. There's also less likely to get viewers on the basis of the matches more likely to be uncompetitive and dull.

The difference between the "broadcasters" and the "players and managers" is that the players and managers would still do what they do for minimum wage. Broadcasters do it only for the profits.

Sadio Mane grew up in a mud hut and walked 6 miles a day to play football, and didn’t get his first pair of boots until he was 8. Luka Modric was a refugee who had to flee a war and grew up in one room with this entire family. Inaki and Nico Williams had parents who literally walked from Africa to Spain to flee a conflict and provide them a better life. Camavinga who plays for Real Madrid was born in a refugee camp. Darwin Nunez used to help his mum collect glass bottles to exchange for money so they could eat. Luis Diaz is from an indigenous poverty stricken tribe in Colombia and was so malnourished that they fed him 6000 calories a day when he first joined a pro team. You’ve never been through anything like what they have.

These elite players had been working professionally with huge pressures since the age of 7.
Playing to many games effects the quality of the games . Fact .
Not at all they’re protected as hell now fouls are so weak these days so there not geting kicked all over the place they get paid for this they work with the best people in every department they fly on clubs private planes they play only 1 or 2 games a week for 90 mins they train for 2 hours every couple of days if they don’t want some many games then managers and players need to take less wages and less transfer budgets simple and none of them would do that but there happy to moan about it
Much as this odious channel/station would like to paint Klopp as wrong or out of touch, they have no leg to stand on. If they listen carefully, Klopp is talking about all of English football not just Liverpool, and he is so good at arguing his point that he takes into consideration the counter arguments which are purely financial. No thought is given to the fitness and stamina of footballers, and it hasn't stayed consistent since the inception of the Prem in 93, it has gotten worse, while as Jurgen rightly says the additional European matches will further add to the strain. So knowalls like Jordan can harp on all they like about being financially realistic but Klopp's point was "dont start saying English teams are failing when the reason why is there for all to see". Basically, Klopp is getting as many truthbombs in as he can while someone of his caliber is sitting in the chair. Hopefully Slot will take a leaf out of that same book.

I have been injured at my work numerous times, workig on site, at height, and having to do physically demanding work etc. But I haven't ever asked to have less hours. Or moaned about my start time etc I get klopps point but they need to think about the normal man on the street and realise that it could be alot worse.
It's not the amount of games these players play. As they are not sprinting for 90 mins, it's stop/start/walking and light jogging for the majority of the game. It's the training in between games in my opinion that introduces fatigue.

Im a liverpool fan and yeah we do have a lot of 12:30 kick offs but thats because people all over the world want to see us. We dont do enough gamesmanship like fergie used to do and dive for pens and win fouls and pull people back. Thats what we need to start doing. If refs are doing us on var and making us play early kick offs we need to dive for pens and cheat, make it a horrible game to broadcast. Suarez it up bite someone
Personally i think the ideal solution would be to set a Maximum & Minimum limit for appearances/minutes throughout the season for the entire 1st team squad. Perhaps with an emphasis of using the clubs youth players.
issue is you have a 25 man squad you just need to rotate and get better rotation players with the money in the prem. makes no sense to complain
It’s not that they can’t play at 12;30. It’s about being able to play somewhere near your professional best. These players are athletes first and footballers second. You cannot expect them to perform at their highest level if playing three games in six weeks. Just look at the amount of injuries this season,not just Liverpool,but most of the top clubs 🤷♂️

I find the live commentary on TNT patronising, repetitive and missing any excitement or useful info. It doesn't add to the viewing experience and only makes me think, shut up, the football is great and you are ruining it.
12.30 slot works well for people like me in Australia who get to follow a game starting at currently 9.30pm which helps me stay up till midnight when the other games start.

Messi and Ronaldo played around 60 games every season. So did the likes of Kross, Modric, Xavi, Iniesta, etc. Never seen one manager or player complain about too many games. I do agree that timings could be better, but this too many fixtures, player welfare is bullshit!

Klopp is completely right. CL teams should be playing Friday night before Tuesday games, Saturday lunchtime before Wednesday games. People will still watch. It works everywhere else in Europe. TNT would do even better if English teams went further in the competition because they've got the rights to it.

The English FA and the SFA in Scotland are the only 2 Football Associations that don't help their teams out. La Liga reschedules Real Madrid and Barcelona games for example, when they have a big game coming up in the champions league semis for e.g, and Italy, German, Dutch and French all do the same. So why are we not helping out our teams? Because our teams would win more, and be injured less!
it's not all about playing when it suits them, it's an obvious disadvantage if you play more early kickoffs than the other teams. less recovery and worse atmosphere is something that should be shared between all clubs

Klopp is agitating for fairness you fools! If there are 38 12: 30 kick off in a season let everyone get two, but not one team getting the bulk of the quick turnaround. He's not saying that football is harder than digging a Ditch or being a GP , he's calling for some consideration in the organisation of matches and fairness in schedules. I think what klopp is saying is the schedule is so busy the teams that are competing in the European competitions as well as everything else whereas the other leagues have breaks in their season like Italy etc and as for liverpool having a full weeks rest let's not forget they was in all competitions 4 weeks ago thats what klopp is talking about
There is no more football now than 30 years ago. Today, the clubs have bigger squads and better pitches.
TV should not virtually control football fixtures and times
12.30 is a horrible time for a footie match in any form, especially for a proper game as every supporter hates it.
Get on with it - broadcasters pay clubs millions in TV money, if it wasn’t for that, Liverpool and other “money” clubs wouldn’t be able to spend what they spend. Liverpool are a world wide brand, and moving KO to maximise income makes sense (like I said above, Liverpool FC benefit from this)
Here's another way of looking at the topic of this discussion ...The arthritic 38 year old Postman is obviously a fan of one of the teams that Jurgen Klopp has owned during his time at LFC. Herr Klopp has been vocal about match scheduling for years now and, to his credit, he's stuck to his guns about this. I really don't think that he ever expected a major overhaul of broadcast scheduling, and if anyone can't see his point - especially when it comes to the April 2024 LFC match scheduling - I don't know what I can do for them. Sorry, Jim, but you obviously sold your soul long ago. At least Herr Klopp has some guts, which is more than I can say for most of the so-called "football analysts" I've been listening to since our league was supposedly "bankrupt"!
