Welcome back, Richest fans! When someone is rolling in cash, they tend to hire some extra protection when venturing out in public. That’s when a bodyguard comes in. Their main role is to keep the client safe from all possible threats. But how does that role entail exactly? And how can someone get such a role? Well, those questions and more will be answered in today’s video. We’ll see what it takes to be a Close Protection Officer, what training is needed, and the salary that comes with guarding bodies. We’ll also see how to be involved with the Secret Service in protecting the US Presidents.
Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. Firstly, we’ll see what a bodyguard does exactly. How they’re often former military, and before they know it, they’re working with Benedict Cumberbatch. We’ll see all the facts and features that the role contains. Next is the bodyguard training. Over in the United Kingdom, they have the Security Industry Authority that hand out licenses. While in the United States, there’s not as many formal qualifications, but a lot of cost when it comes to courses! Speaking of, we have the salary. Due to the unusual working hours, potentially, bodyguards could make a fortune. We’ll then see what it takes to be a Special Agent in the Secret Service. Finally, we’ll briefly look at perhaps one of the richest bodyguards in the world who was in charge of the safety for former Malawi President, Peter Mutharika.

  • I worked for 15 years as a dignatary protection agent for embassies that didnt have their own security details, usually smaller countries in south and central america. I like that this video tells the truth, we always said that celebreties hire huge men because of crowd control. However those of us in the business of actual protection have to deal with real threats of bodily harm and thats why size doesnt always matter in this job.

Firearm, close quarter combat, and being diversified in types of languages. The rest is common sense and gut feeling. Size doesn’t matter bc I’m 6’7 295lbs and my 3 other partners were under 6’1.

    • Top of the tree is the ultra rich. biggest detail I was on was an 18 man crew. Most outside excursions were 6 man teams. 3 Meat Shields, 2 Civi Watchers, 1 Driver. So most of the guys were ex military 28 to 40 years old. All ultra fit killers full of steroids, no frauds or pretenders. US$50k/mth was about average it would be higher if you did special jobs which included eliminating threats permanently. They were 3 to 4 month continuous rotations. There was no off time you could not leave the environment during a rotation as it was full of risk to the client and rest of the group. There was lots of surveillance on other parties to vet people and minimise threats. If a threat was detected (Hit person/team) it would be surveyed and then eliminated. Now you have heard what it is you can differentiate from the bullshitters and frauds. The best of us were making up to US$1M/yr.
