  • Actually there have been horse like animals in the Americas that tragically gone extincted, archaeologist have found bone of the horses like the North american Hagerman, Yukon, South american Hippidion, Hipparion, equus-scotti, and south american pleistoncene. Those could be the Horses Nephi saw as well as the horses that Ammon fed and King Lamoni used for his Chariots.

    • But where is the proof of chariots? Did those go extinct too? This piece of literature spits on true human origins and history. Imagine choosing to be this ignorant of the real world.

  • There was at least a century or more of time from the flood to the days of Peleg when the continents were divided. Lots of roaming around time for our horse friends on each side of the land before the Atlantic came between them.

  • Adam was here, then Noah then Jaredites who came in barges to the Americas then Nephites & lamanites...they brought flocks, herds, food, bees etc so it is also very possible they had horses.

    • They are mentioned, because Joseph did not know that that was in inconsistency in his story. She’s God is not the god of confusion as we find in first Corinthians, why would a divine translation put horse where God did not actually mean horse? It sounds like the author wasn’t actually all knowing.

  • The Native Americans called large dogs horses. As you know that dogs were used by the indians to move teepees and other things. The Alaskan indians used dogs to pull sleds, i suppose they could be called chariots. If you look at most of the references to horses they are listed as food. The Nephites did not have sheep either. The flocks were most likely geese and ducks and the behavior also resembles fowl as opposed to four legged animals. By searching what the Native North American indians ate and raised food and animals you will see it aligns with the Book of Mormon.

  • Or Horses did exist in the Western Hemisphere and we haven't found them in the fossil record yet. I'll have to look for it, I think there are some sites that they have found horse bones.

  • Its recently been found out that horses evolved here in the americas and went around the world in reverse compared to indians who came from mongolia. Btw... The church does not deny the mongolian indian stories. The trouble is. People who hung around with lamanites became lamanites themselves. So the word gentile vanishes from the book of mormon altogether. But this also suggests why the dna evidence is conclusively mongolian rather than jewish in origin

    • they were incredibly small though, the tallest wouldn't have been anywhere close to as tall as a human adult, and even if they were tall enough to ride, they went extinct long before the events of the Book of Mormon. At least, if they actually happened

  • Archaeologists Erez Ben-Yosef and Lidar Sapir-Hen of Tel Aviv University released a new study that dates the arrival of the domesticated camel in the eastern Mediterranean region to the 10th century B.C. at the earliest, based on radioactive-carbon techniques. Abraham and the patriarchs, however, lived at least six centuries before then. "There are too many camels in the Bible, out of time and out of place … these anachronisms are telling evidence that the Bible was written or edited long after the events it narrates and is not always reliable as verifiable history.” Hmmmmmmmmm...Why don't you turn your obsession with the BofM to have a look at the Bible? The Bible has a real problem as well...many examples. Horses, camels...who knew?

    • @@waterlifepets3964 yea there is no evidence of anything ancient being built across from Nauvoo. All God said was build a city and call it Zarahemla which doesn't mean anything. There is 0 evidence of anything being built anciently like what is described in the Book of Mormon anywhere in present day US. Now the lidar scan over central America that showed many different massive ruins that were previously unknown tho... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
