This time I will bring you a fun loop form! Different from the previous multi-part ensemble, it is possible to complete a piece of music in one go, and the process is quite interesting~
The use of guitar in Hotel California can be regarded as one of the classic arrangements in history, especially the 1994 live version. So I made some deletions in the vocal part, focusing on the two guitar solos of the prelude and the ending. Hope you like it!
The costume this time is Wei Jin style wide-sleeved cross-collared Hanfu. For the convenience of plucking the instrument, panbo are added. (襻膊, pàn bó, originated from the Song Dynasty, a tool used to roll up the sleeves for easy operation), the hat is a hand-woven straw hat, the overall mix and match looks relatively "plain", and it feels like the rice planting will start in the next second hahahahahahaha~

Superb rendition..Hotel California Guitar piece is classic. Playing it on Chinese instrument is just out of the world. "Eagels" would be proud of you.
This is an amazing arrangement for this instrument. Guzheng is usually tuned to pentatonic scale, which does not have all the notes naturally that are necessary to articulate Hotel California. This musician demonstrated comprehensive technical skills and deep understanding of Guzheng to be able to fit Hotel California into an arrangement on an instrument which essentially has 5 pentatonic notes.
I play guitar and the very first thing that came to mind was this must be fun to restring and tune LOL! Sounds beautiful and looks like a very well made instrument and I do not want to know what this example would cost as I am sure it's not cheap. Almost looks like it has more in common with a piano rather than a guitar BUT I know not a damn thing about this instrument.
Not sure if this one was tuned to pentatonic. The strings were coloured like diatonic.

Guzhen normally tuned to pentatonic but left hand can push the string down which create all the notes a guitar can play. The truth is most guzhen players in china are basic level players who can’t explore the guzhen potential like this amazing master can do. On top of that, she demonstrated guzhen is not only sounds great for traditional Chinese music but sounds jaw dropping for western music too
@@irisge5609 I'm pretty sure this has been tuned diatonic - if you look at 1:00 in the video you can get a good look at the strings and they are green / 2 white / red / 3 white - so if the red are green strings are the semitones would give you 8 notes per octave with a TTSTTTS pattern, which exactly matches the diatonic scale.
This is her rendition of the acoustic version that the Eagles did when they cam out of retirement… by far my favorite interpretation! UNBELIEVABLY GREAT!

I have been listening to this Guzheng playing Hotel California all day long. At some point, my mother asked me, 'Is this an ancient Chinese song?' To be honest, I also reminded the time of Qin Dynasty, which was 2200 years ago from now（GuZheng was invented during the Qin state）. I had an image of the scene when Jing Ke traveling to Xianyang from the 'Biography of Assassins' in Sima Qian's 'Records of the Grand Historian'. This was my favorite instrument as a child, and your playing made my mind soar, and I was transported back to my childhood, but it felt so different. It's green tea mixed with Blue Mountain coffee. It's totally impossible when you don't hear it, but you'll fall in love with it when you actually taste it.
