I tested the new #iforcemax powered #pickup #truck from Toyota, the Tacoma #trd pro. All-new from the ground up, the new Tacoma is a wizard off road with adjustable #foxshocks and a torquey #hybrid #turbo powertrain #4x4 #4wd
Man I'm in love with this truck!
Kirk, Wouldn't this I-Force Max powertrain be great in a Trailhunter model of the new Land Cruiser FJ? 🤔😁
Heck yeah. 👍
Seems so solid
They are really pushing the new turbo charged 4 poper. I heard the chief engineer going over how great it is . Powerful, strong & durable. He claimed it will be just as good if not better than the old V6. He was really selling it. Very convincing. Almost believed him. But we all know they have a product to sell and what was he suppose to say. "It should get you through the warranty and then your on your own" He would have gotten fired.
Ha ha…exactly 😂
Nice
😎 cool!
Does the hybrid turbo Tacoma come in a manual in any trim?
It does not. That would be a blast tho!
We'd like a PHEV version of this TRD Pro
This passenger guy his funny!!!!
Looks like a fun new truck! Less expensive than Cybertruck, for now, until Cybertruck RWD becomes available at $60K.
And looks much cooler.
Lolz at that autozone spec decorative hood scoop
I would like to know if the Toyota instructors will be with us when we drive them
I am surprised there is no mention of Kia’s Tasman leak from you yet. Kia Mojave platform is one of the last frame on body platfrom so it was just waiting for its opportunity to become an American style truck!
I feel like you didn’t get the Toyota commercial reference the Toyota employee made. He’s referencing the best Toyota commercial ever made. A woman throws her boyfriend’s Tacoma off a cliff and the truck lands perfectly!
Screen is going mad. Blinking camera on and off. I hope they fix that.
@chibbyylol I. Think he's talking about when you go above a certain miles per hour. The camera is turning off. And then when they slow down, it turns back on.that's the way supposed to work though.
The new Tacomas are an IQ test. If you buy one you fail.
Good thing the hybrid batteries alleviate the strain on that turbo 4-banger in the long term for the bigger chassis. Interesting to see the overall reliability down the road with this overpriced platform. As my friend Joe would say: “a lot of ZONKS with this new truck! 😳
IS IT BRICK 🧱 RED, KIRK😮??
Expensive though. Toyota "finally" managed to price the middle class out!
the screen is too big tho
Imagine going to a steep hill or towing up a hill. Your hybrid battery is depleted. Now you have the power of the peasant 2.4 turbo with no electric assist.
I have the Tacoma with just the peasant 2.4 turbo and I towed a kubota tractor up a steep hill and it actually did awesome!
I'm sure that the new pro is a very capable truck. However 65K + dollars for a four cylinder truck is WAY TOO MUCH.
$67K
Insane price
Starts at $31k.....
For $65,000! Are you shitting me!
Just buy a cheaper model....
@@fredmagic09 2wd
@@appleztooranges there are more options than just 2wd
@Kirk Kreifels: looks great on the outside. Those seats have to go, it becomes a two seat truck. No payload either, very low at 1200 lbs. And the price... ouch. Is Trail Hunter bettwr?
It's not a work truck. It's a "sportscar" for truck guys. Going fast off-road. Not for hauling people or stuff.
@@andyleo8418 then get a Ranger Raptor. More room, higher payload, and $8k less...
@@erickisel8668 Toyota guy is not going to settle for a Ford. Same the other way around.
Kirk no way yiu think $67k is reasonable for this? This should be no more than 50-55k if you want to push it
Price for the trd pro and trailhunter is more than fine after all these are very specialist high performance versions. No one has put gun on your head and said . you must buy the TRD pro and trailhunter.
Like I said there will always be people that will be paying any ridiculous price for what they want, then there is the reasonable consumer that Toyota has in the past cared for and valued opinion. Toyota is not a luxury brand they have always been a high quality brand for the average consumer. Lately it seems that Toyota has forgotten their bread and butter
@@robrocker7544 again prices of the new Tacoma is very much in line with other mid size trucks . overall your are wrong
So had to put a jump in after the raptor 😂
Actually, Toyota had a Trd Pro jump way before the Raptor did. 😂
So this is really worth 64K? Can't even imagine the add-on and markups on top of this.
$6k more than a raptor 🤣🤡
Cars are not selling now.
@@marklihsu on redline reviews he goes into all the extra tech and equipment and features on the Trd pro versus not on raptor and there you have your difference in price
@@marklihsuIs hope so. You’re comparing a loaded sports tuned Toyota to a basic Ford.🤡
Plus taxes and fees etc
I'm just so happy that they put the TRD on the Steering wheel. so I would know what I was driving and that they put Toyota on the dashboard so I would know what brand name. I was driving. Engines sound like they're gonna blow. The next 2 to 3 years will tell us what we need to know.
Non turbo taco are going to be the true desired. Turbo taco will start gettting complains soon.
These new engines will not have any issues whatsoever. Toyota knows about engines more than you
I want to love it, but the price is ridiculous. The whole Tacoma line-up is insanely out of touch IMO. 1/2 tons are comparable in cost.
The Tacoma starts at $31k........
@@fredmagic09 starting at $31k for a 2wd access cab, but most on lots are $40-$45k with basic options. Even the SR when only configured with the Double Cab option and 4wd jumps to over $38k. So “starting at” is complete BS.
@@cpftank09 I mean...the website clearly says $31k for your basic Tacoma so yes, it does START at $31k. Now if you insist on complaining, how about you compare the Tacoma to a similarly speced Colorado and Ranger. Tacoma w/ double cab and 4x4 is priced at $38,395. The Ranger is priced at $37,910 and the Colorado is priced at $34,395. With that said, are the Colorado and Ranger overpriced as well? Oh and let's not forget, Toyota is including 2-year/25k miles maintenance plan ad roadside assistance. Not sure if Chevy and Ford is offering the same.
@@fredmagic09 For an absolute base model with a 4 banger. I paid about that for a 2020 Trd OR DCLB with leather seats.
Seems like the ZR2, AT4X, and Ranger Raptor offer a better value than Tacoma based on price
Way too expensive.
65k smh MAGA 🇺🇲
No
For 65k, it’s definitely monstrous 😂
Nice truck but Toyota priced me out…..time to sell a kidney
Hyundai-Kia needs some trucks in the lineup. Santa Cruz is not a truck. It's incredible Hyundai-Kia is 4th biggest seller in USA without any trucks. With trucks, Hyundai-Kia will be #1!
I hope Kia brings and produces the Tasman here
@@chezzyperson3339 Yeah, that would be great. Hyundai was able to sell 30,000 Santa Cruzs last year. Not bad for initial trial at selling truck-like vehicle.
They need more reliability first, after 100k they fall apart
Toyota has become the worst midsize truck in the market. Price for what you get is outrageous and just plain dumb. Those seats are dumb no one can sit in the back unless they are a double amputee.
Toyota is a luxury handbag. With mark up 70k for that truck…
How is it the worst? What other truck competes with this. The only other one that comes to mind is the AT4x?
@@thomas735 price and features. It doesn’t have a front locker and the t case is slow to engage like the last 15 years. Shock seats are beyond dumb and take up all back leg room. And the size of these trucks are out of hand but above all that the price is so outrageous and people will be like yeah but it’s Toyota
@@JeremyHoutgoogleplus new hybrid turbo Tacoma and turbo is a excellent mid size truck And even ranked. number one and two by car and driver.overall you are wrong
