Van, bus, camper, truck top. I’ve watched all your transformations. Now school and outdoor get-aways. You’re sort of doing my life, but in reverse. I started with college and grad school and then later did the camping/RVing shelter changes. 😁
Can’t wait to see how you build out the inside. I put a camper shell on my truck for simpler trips when I don’t want to pull the camper. I set up a screen room outside to give me some cooking and sitting space. You are going to enjoy this! Have fun!

Congrats on getting to graduate school 🎉🎉. If you haven’t yet looked into it there are canvas covers that cover the tailgate area and extend the interior space. I have one for my Tacoma and it worked well. You can also put a canopy off the tailgate for covered living space in case of rain. Hope this helps and gives you ideas.
Looks good to me! Congrats on getting into grad school. You're going to do just great. Having a small unit to camp in will undoubtedly make it easier for you to camp, get away, etc. this Summer. This type of truck camper is my short-term dream! I'd love a Tundra for the reliability but most of the ones I've seen with the crew cab have short beds that I can't lie down in. WHY, Toyota?! 😩Congrats on getting into grad school! On top of getting advanced training, one of the main reasons I went was for networking and building community with like-minded folks. I have no doubt you'll do well!

I've had so much trouble with my fiberglass shell leaking between the bed rails and the shell! I even replaced the original rubber seal with a really beefy one and it failed shortly afterward. My theory is that the shell rattles around while off-roading, hitting bumps, etc. and wiggles the seal out of space. Seriously considering bolting it through the bed rails and permanently caulking it! Not a huge deal for shorter trips because I can air everything out in between, but not ideal for long term travel or rainy weather! I've spent HOURS combing through online forums and have found very little information on how to fix it. Curious to hear if you experience the same and/or find any good solutions. Can't wait to see how you set this thing up!

Instead of using a truck topper why don't you just put a Ali cab on your truck would make more sense it seems like you're going backwards instead of forward just saying
they’re really expensive and I’d prefer something simple :)
