Missed your live vlog, but watched it today. I heard you mention Maddie, heard from her yesterday, she is settled in to her new house, and Eliza made the trip in good shape. I think Maddie was more stressed about the flight than Eliza was, she was running thru the airport after landing to find the dog!
Hey Alexandria-so glad to hear you’re putting roots down in Colorado for a while-I’m a 5th generation Coloradan, and grew up in Durango. Have lived in Boulder County for about 33 years, and retired from CU Boulder. If that’s where you’re applying to go to grad school, you might check out the Nederland area west of Boulder-skiing, hiking, fishing, and possibly camping remotely-not too sure on the camping, as the covid influx of people was too much. But, I’m in the area if you need advice. By the bye-my husband is from Leadville, our son was born there, and still have family & lots of friends living there. If you can, hit Leadville’s Boom Days-the first full weekend in August-super fun!
Missed seeing you in the live as well, but what exciting news! I've never been to Colorado and hope to get out there sometime soon to see those beautiful mountains and lakes first hand. Grad school sounds like a super idea and will serve you well in your future endeavours. Just saw your short post about selling the BigFoot - hope that goes well for you too. Colorado! ☺ A great portion of my adult life was spent in that awesome state. I moved to Leadville when I was 29 and spent 10 years there and all told I lived 22 years in the mountains, Gunnison, Crested Butte and the Aspen area were other spots, and 2 years in the foothills above Denver (up hwy 285 past Conifer). I really don't think there is a better place to be really, that is, if you can afford it. I am just about to retire and will head back to the state but it will only be for summers and as a nomad. Enjoy, I think it's a great choice.
I really enjoyed watching this live session. it's so interesting to hear your experiences and preferences and how you make it all work. I think the people who give you a hard time when you talk about making lifestyle changes, are lacking self-awareness about how much they are leaning on you to validate their dreams and or lifestyle. It is admirable and healthy that you identify new goals and try different options for building a life that is fulfilling TO YOU! I'm so glad you've gotten to the part where you've worked out most of the issues with your rig. It was so heartbreaking to see you struggling with all the expenses and stress of setbacks. I realize that's what comes with the territory, but still I felt bad for you. Hope you have a wonderful stay in Colorado!

Wonderful plans! I grew up in Colorado and had many sweet memories of camping in the mountains there. Environmental science is an excellent program to pursue as it is much needed in today's world. I studied Environmental History in grad school and it was fascinating.
Love your channel and I'm excited to see how CO life goes for you! I have a daughter in grad school at CU Boulder and she chose the area because of the work-life balance it affords her. Not to mention the 300+ days of sunshine. Best of luck to you!

I missed the live part but caught up with you later. It was very enjoyable! I went back to school for my masters when I turned 40 . It was a little scary to start but got better with time. I also got an assistantship which paid for most of the cost - you might want to see what is available.

I guess we're all different! The mountains do not give me good vibes lol They feel dark and gloomy, and I hate being cold. I love all things tropical, sunny and beachy! But I understand how if you are living out of a vehicle that living in a tropical climate would be very uncomfortable. Great live video, I love watching your videos!

you are a great dog mom. honestly, I don't believe in off leash dogs UNLESS they have great recall, I hear allot people talk about incidents when they are out leash walking their dogs, and off leash dogs attack their's. I have a deaf dog so he will never be off leash, i'm currently looking for some type of protection for moments like these, I hear some people carry stun guns, they say the sound alone deters the dogs. At the end of the day the only person your responsible for is YOU, you don't need to please anyone but yourself, people will come and go in your life all the time. IMO the youtube life isn't sustainable for a long period of time it's great to put food on the table for now but having the education and loving what you do, that's what will get you through life, while life changes can be scary, if you don't try you won't know. Congratulations on going back to school, I went back to school in my late 20's as well and I was more mentally prepared at that point than I had been at 18, I needed to work for a while before I could totally commit to school, It gave me a great career and now i'm preparing to retire at the end of the summer. Good luck.
