The plasma cutter should have got a higher rating for the knock down the melee gains that can save you in impossible by its self.
@@Chevalier_knight It's so fun to send enemies flying with that.
This whole video is so fucking spoiler
Rip and tear until it is done
plasma cutter is the best for me
Every gun in this game just feels so good. It is ironic that the weakest gun is a standard military rifle while the others are all mining tools. Probably why the military and security guys on the ship didn’t stand a chance with it.
Yes, that's exactly why miners held out longer.
I mean it kinda make sense if you think about it. Military rifles are meant for living beings, it doesn't has to have over the top destructive power, usually when the indented target took few shots from it, he/she/it will bleed out soon and won't post any threat during that time. So rapid fire and more ammo count is more important due to tactical usage. Mining tool in the other hand are meant to crack rocks, so obviously it pack some heavy punch. However, from the looks, they looks more clunky than military rifle thus probably much heavier and will be the last thing you wanna bring if you going on an actual battlefield. However, necromorph isn't alive(at least not alive like most of the known creature), thus few bullets holes doesn't really matter to them, but a charged contact beam to the face will make thing a lot more difficult for the necromorph because now it's a rolling head on the ground.
Indeed, every weapon has its place now, even the flamethrower is super fun to use now and the wall of fire is very practical to control an area
@@spaceerror_3571 just to clarify that here because you explained it. Pulse Rifle is meant to be used in ships and "in cosmos areas" where causing bullet holes in a ship for example is a major threat. It doesn't penetrate as it's lore stands "The Pulse Rifle discharges ultra low caliber rounds at hypersonic speeds, each carrying tremendous amounts of kinetic energy". So basically it's like being hit by hammer with a size of a grain of sand and power of speeding truck, thirty times a second. If not for it ridiculous projectile speed it might be a good pacyfing weapon. But here? Yeah, it's a deadly weapon turning tissue into liquid and bones into dust. Still nothing really stands against something like Contact beam well because... It's a damn particle accelerator. Standing in it's targeting range is one thing... DEATH
Always has been
The Pulse Rifle is actually amazing against bosses where you have to go for the weak points.
Totally agreed pulse rifle is amazing and with bonus damage lv6 military suit
Yeah I agree…
My fav
The tentacle scenes where you get grabbed are best dealt with using this weapon.
it is also good on the wall guys when you use the alt fire
The flame thrower maxed out is actually a pretty sweet weapon
Got a feeling that some of these weapons are crazy when maxed out, on my new game plus playthough I mostly user the flamethrower and ripper
On it's own it's pretty weak IMO against most necro's, but it's great if you combo it with another weapon. Flames will stagger enemies after a few rounds, where it actually weakens their defenses and just about any weapon will shatter their limbs at this point with a single shot. Flamethrower also cannot be used in area's where there is no oxygen, and is terrible against the hunter necromorph since it doesn't sever limbs at all.
@@KittStargazer Lightly toast, pull out plasma cutter. Efficient versus every enemy save the brute.
BRO RIGHT I literally beat the game on impossible with the flamethrower and plasma cutter
Just make a ring of fire …you look bad ass an then you finish them off with a slice from the cutter…I never got rushed in my play through because I sent them to hell
The flamethrower is the most ammo efficient weapons in the game. Not at the beginning, but once you get some nodes put into it, it's fabulous. You get the necros to group in the later combat arenas, and you can kill 5 or 6 necros at a time with the same amount it takes to kill 1. Also, its ammo is really cheap. It's also great for dealing with pregnants as it cooks the little dudes inside.
I'll also add that I was playing on hard while using it
Yep. On all New Game + playthroughs I do, the Flamethrower isn’t just the most satisfying weapon to use, but I find myself just melting anything and everything I come across with it. Such a fun weapon
@@stuarthall9854 it’s the best example of a weapon that starts weak but ends strong, but that said it’s best used in NG+ for that reason.
@@Sci-Fi_Freak_YTThe same can be said about my penis.
I barely upgraded it and still used it the whole game. It's best use is setting an enemy on fire and then switching to another weapon. Limbs will break off in 1 hit. Also highly useful against the wall type and swarming enemies.
Also worth noting that if you complete the Mercer side mission, Stasis gets upgraded so it actually melts enemies, literally. Use it on a slasher and it only leaves bone left so limbs are extremsly easy to remove
no way that’s hilarious, i did the mercer side mission i guess didn’t get that upgrade
@@Cytonox It also one shots guardians.... eventualy. just time it right,
That's incredible.
@@Cytonox it was on the table in the final objective room with the purple glow of importance o:
I was wondering why my stasis was destroying them like that, lol. Thanks bro
Recently finished my first run of the game while playing on hard and used the pulse rifle and flamethrower in my lineup. For as lacking as they can be sometimes, they are both *very* ammo efficient when upgraded. The flamethrower combined with the occasional punch to stun means you barely have to spend any fuel for a kill, the alt fire also kills wall guardians in one shot. Goes to show that dead space’s weapons are so well balanced that even the “worst” weapons still do the job you need completely fine. Good game design
I carried all my guns at the same time. And then just alternate when one gun runs out of ammo. Ammo is never a problem in this game. There's always enough. And yes, I'm playing on hard.
in the original they were bad but here since they got tweaked here, they no longer belong in the trash category
Stasis plus Pulse Rifle Grenade insta kills them too.
💯
I absolutely love how the ripper uses the same blade for the alt fire if your using the primary fire.
Woukd be a nice QoL if there was a cue of when it's about to expire so you can Alt fire to make the most out of it.
@@Beer_Wolf you can kinda hear when it's starting to overheat and about to break. It's usually how I tell when to shoot it off.
It actually starts to glow red when it’s about to break. That’s how I know when to start the ricochet
@@burgerbandit3646The same can be said about my penis.
Well it lasts around 7 seconds un-upgraded, so it's pretty easy to guesstimate, even if you're panicking. It's super ammo-efficient, so it's not the end of the world if you accidentally alt-fire a few seconds early. Plus like others said, there's visual/audio que's too Since I started off by mostly just using the primary fire, and letting it auto-reload after 7 seconds, I got pretty used to knowing when it's about to reload long before I started to use its alt fire.
The ripper’s ability to stun lock most enemies (except the dark red Uber strong versions of each monster) makes it a perfect panic weapon for tight rooms. Was essential for all the locked rooms with resources in them and the elevator in Mining.
The flamethrower x force gun combo is so op Pop a gravity well in a mob of necros, then a fire wall right on top of them, you literally just got effortless kills, this works flawlessly for me on Hard difficulty
I was surprised the flamethrower was ranked so low considering how much it stub locks enemies
Same, I also think the pulse rifle is severely underrated, I used that gun from the moment I got it till the end of the game and I always felt like it was reliable
Same, if you flamethrower first then change to pulse rifle you kill necros in about 3 flamethrower ammo and 1 to 5 pulse rifle ammo
@@serphvarna4154 ooo, I'ma try that out. Since I just started ng+
EXACTLY!
The contact beam was massively improved!
At the end on hard, the gravity well + grenade launcher combo saved me so many times
Gravity well is the forcegun alt-fire, correct?
@@TurnerTurnip yes
the pulse rifle does have ONE amazing use very early game, in the morgue plant a mine outside the office door right before starting the captains body cutscene. when the infector goes to infect other corpses it will instantly die instead of giving you 5 enemies to fight
Or u can just stomp the body's, lmao
@@kozodoev doesn’t kill it lol
Or you can stomp all the bodies first and it will have nothing to infect
I just stomp the corpses to dismember them, they don't infect corpses with no limbs so they attack you directly
The bug problem with the assault rifle is that it lags behind other weapons in the middle if it's upgrade cycle. But early on the mines are really powerful and once fully upgraded the damage, versatility, capacity and ammo drop chance are enough to keep it through the very end.
So nice though using the flamethrower. Especially against those small floor crawlers. Makes you feel like the main character in "the Thing" film
totally agreed, flamethrower my favorite visually or maybe the contact beam - jack
Made me feel like the MC in “The Thing” when I burned parts of the Divider.
The force gun is really good for softening enemies up for the plasma cutter/line gun. It flays their flesh off meaning less ammo needed from the other weapons to finish them off. Great supportive tool for other weapons and keeping up on supplies, as well as a good panic option for when you get cornered.
Here is a major tip for Impossible mode: Drop every gun besides the contact beam, if you only have that, you only get ammo for it, which means i finished impossible mode with minimal searching and still fully stacked on power nodes and credits, since you only need enough for the contact beam and the suit
noted
That's one of the things i remembered from the original. You only get ammo for the weapons you have on you. First playthrough i always use the plasma cutter, nothing else. With the fire upgrade and some nodes it's a fantastic weapon.
Although you will still find ammo for other guns in lockers and crates, because some of them have not random, but predetermined loot.
I mean not really an issue when there an unlimited credit glitch in the game
@@UmbraRaijuthere is?
I felt like a lot of weak weapons back in the original are strong in this game. I always wanted to play contact beams because it's hella cool, but end up almost never able to use it because the super long charging time. Now I can cut percomorph's legs off and finished them off with a charge shot within reasonable time.
the contact beam go so dummy bro - jack
Lmao straight off them perc hunnids
@@CytonoxYeah, it got the treatment a death laser should get. I like the idea of it serving as a ‘Trump Card’ weapon. Like the Revolver/Magnum in RE4, it’s your last resort to pull out when you wind up in a bad situation and desperately need a way out while also still having utility for the enemies you just suck at handling with your other options.
There’s always something so fun about the Line Gun - there’s this feeling that you’re not just cutting enemies, you’re fucking bisecting them.
Was so thrilling using the line gun on my first necromorph hoard, on a large screen and good surround sound system, back when the original Dead Space came out
I think it’s great that so many people on here have found success using numerous weapon combos! The meta is what works best for you personally.
Weirdly I recall the linegun sucking and the flamethrower when fully upgraded being really good. Also the force gun is way better than B. So hilarious to just yeet all the skin and muscle off a necro in one shot.
i personally think force gun is great but is BEST as a supplemental weapon, on its own it's not great compared to others the line gun though... is really damn good. especially WITH the force gun, those two together are ridiculous - jack
@@Cytonox for me I feel they nerfed the line gun. They gave its alt fire the detonator from dead space 2. I prefer its blast mine more
@@nicksanchez2041 Cap detected, nerf? Try placing the Remake Line Gun Trap on something solid you can hold up with kinesis, with all the trap upgrades you can clear almost any room instantly by holding the item up with kinesis and aiming it around assuming it’s oriented correctly, you can kill brutes from the front with it, you don’t even need to attack their back, even without this strat your still going to annihilate most enemies that walk into a stationary laser, just shoot them with something else or stasis them as they go over it to stun them, Line Gun is far superior in strength to how it was in the OG games and it’s easy to see why it’s the strongest gun in the remake
Pulse rifle was my goto for the first two games. With upgrades, it was a pretty reliable mulcher. It does take more ammo but it has large mags and pickups are large to accommodate.
Fully upgraded pulse rifle is superior to everything. People saying otherwise have room temp IQs
@@DB-sd3cw so true man fully upgraded Pulse is so ammo efficient its was not as bad as people say and with its slow down rounds and grenade it felt so good, i paired it with only force gun and had no problem in hard or ng+
@@DB-sd3cw People have always shit on the pulse rifle in every game and they've always been wrong. Fully upgraded, the pulse rifle is almost as versatile as the plasma cutter.
@@DB-sd3cw so true
I immediately fell in love with the force gun. I think it's one of best shotguns I've seen in a third person shooter. Seeing how it blows the skin of the necromorphs with every shot is priceless
I felt safer with the pulse rifle than flamethrower.
fair enough, i'd even agree with that; i just think the flamethrower is better at stunning Necromorphs and admittedly i'm pretty good at positioning/evading thanks to playing lots of Resident Evil, so i take the flamethrower personally as it's a bit more destructive - jack
The flamethrowers more utility driven, allowing you to block entry's and also deal with weaker enemies or groups, whereas the pulse rifle sounds and looks cool but is kind of like using a BB gun against enemies, would say it shines against bosses with the yellow glowing pupils, but you could always use the plasma cutter just as well.
Flamethrower is pretty good against the big bloated necromorphs that breed those little swarmers after you
The flamethrower does more damage than the pulse rifle and perma stuns and can hit multiple targets. The pulse rifle is by far the worst weapon in the game
The flamethrower is good against those wall bloaters. The flame's can easily take out the tentacles and spawners.
Great video, Guys! It's always awesome when a shooter offers a diverse array of weapons to choose from that prove useful in different circumstances. The Ripper reminds me of using the Gravity Gun in Half-Life 2 to launch circular saws and decapitate Headcrab Zombies. If I had to pick a shooter with my favorite weapon arsenal, it would probably be Blood. Everything -- from the more standard weapons like the shotgun and tommy gun to the unique ones like the Voodoo Doll, Life Leech, Flare Gun, and Tesla Cannon -- feels so impactful and amazing to use in that game, and they all serve their uses against different enemy types. Amid Evil and Duke Nukem 3D are both up there in that regard, as well. Anyway, I'm enjoying your content as always and look forward to your future uploads!
I never liked the contact beam in the original, but I LOVE it in this game.
i loved the contact beam in the og, one shotting brutes and boss puss balls plus easy dismemberment with plenty of ammo. the alt fire was fun as a "FUCK OFF" option. with all that the new one is phenominal although the primary fire is a tad bit underpowered
I always carried the Contact beam in the Original Dead space. It had the highest value per ammo drop, so simply caring it, forced enemies to drop contact ammo which would finance all of my power node upgrades... In the remake force gun ammo has the best value for credit harvesting.
I sometimes use it in the original and never use it in 2 since the seeker rifle does everything it can except faster and cheaper. In the remake however, the thing was basically my fucking sidearm because of how fun it was and the game constantly dropping ammo for it (I think I ended my first playthrough with two full rows of contact energy) just meant that it saw almost as much use as the almighty plasma cutter.
Currently on my first NG+ playthrohgh. Only gun I've had trouble doing really well with is the Pulse Rifle. It's useful for crowd control with its alt fire but the main gun is just terrible at cutting limbs. I kinda like it that way, though, since it reflects the lore.
I've found one of my most common uses for it is for interacting with the envoriment, destroying circuit breakers and tumors, and killing the swarmers (the small self propelled flesh giblets with teeth.)
Try to pair it with the flamethrower, for me it worked great
The wall of flame is my favorite, it stops enemies in their tracks while you watch them burn, and great crowd control, it's also a blast to use
IMHO stasis + kinesis are the most overpowered combo in any game. In the original DS kinesis wasn’t as good as you couldn’t kill anyone with it with just one hit but it became that in DS2 and I’m glad they have returned that feature here. Now you can kill almost anything without any ammo as long as you are aware of your surroundings!
for the ripper you can use the alt fire at no ammo cost since when using the primary shot the blade is already out as long as you alt fire before the blade explodes
I found the pulse rifle very good in zero G segments, against lurkers, and shooting off arms to then combo with kinesis.
Plasma cutter brings me back. I remember doing a run on the hardest difficulty plasma cutter only. Actually worked pretty well (sell everything else and max it quick)... up until the little critter guys that melt you without a flamethrower
Just use stasis with them and then stomp them to oblivion ;)
@@Savel29J ...I am so annoyed I never thought to stasis them lmao
Never expected to find the flamethrower to be such a solid part of my arsenal, but in the early game, having an easy way to melt the first couple of layers off of an enemy before following up with a cutting tool makes it surprisingly worthwhile. The secondary fire is really great for stopping advancing enemies, too.
It's an instakillfor guardians if you use ALT Fire
@@TheAgore47 saves so much time just blasting it into the center and hearing their screams, looks cool as hell too
Force gun went from the least used in my arsenal to literally wanting to use it 24/7. It's just that cool
I nicknamed it the "Anti Jump Gun" because you just annihilate anything that tries to jump you close range.
No need to precisely aim for the limbs either as the shockwave hits a large area.
You’re right about the Plasma Cutter being more than decent. I’m on the last chapter and have it fully upgraded. I’ve only used this weapon so I can get the related trophy :)
In my play through, I found that hitting them with flamethrower and then force gun blast was a great wombo combo. Played on hard
Great video, thanks. I'm working my way through the original at the moment but this one looks really great. That fire is the best I've seen in a PC game yet.
Oh, we’re doing weapon rankings now? Nice!
I've never been a huge fan of the flame thrower throughout the series. But in this one it was highly effective and was a great combo with other weapons to finish off necromorphs.
I personally went with the Ripper, Force Gun and Contact Beam. Ripper is so unbelievably ammo efficient that one blade could kill up to three charging Nercos, and if pregnant or busters came by the force gun handled those and the contact beam mopped up anything at range.
real the ripper is so cold
I found that when the Flamethrower is fully maxed, the alt-fire “flame wall” will decimate multiple necromorphs caught in it’s area of effect, especially the pregnant ones so in certain situations, it’s a powerful alternative.
For my impossible run I use flame thrower, contact bean, force gun and plasma cutter. Grate for cc and keeping them in one place .
If you'll allow my personal input: *Plasma cutter:* An excellent workhorse that, in the hands of a skilled psychopath, is irreplaceable. While you cannot deny its overall effectiveness, it does aesthetically pale in comparison to other weapons in Isaac's arsenal. *Pulse Rifle:* Constantly slept on. When used as an Assault Rifle, it's terrible, yes. When used as a supplemental weapon, it shines brilliantly. Pair with stasis or weapons that knock down or stagger, and it rips through weak points. Use IN TANDEM, not on its own. *Ripper:* I personally dislike this weapon. While its single target damage is impressive, it has short range that leaves you open to being flanked. It's ricochet secondary is really only useful in tight spaces, so it's great to clear hallways, but larger combat encounters are... Less effective. *Flamethrower:* This. Bitch. SCHLAPS. I've beaten Impossible with nothing but this thing. It's primary is almost exclusively for fodder. Don't use it on anything but Lurkers & Swarmers, and Separator Components. It shines in the damage over time aspect, and the Flame Wall not only consistently staggers everything but Brutes & Twitchers, but some necromorphs will be stopped dead by the presence of it alone (fire is a primal fear, after all), sealing off walkways and wider swaths and preventing flanks. Plus, the new lighting system really lets this thing shine, especially with Ray Tracing. *Contact Beam:* See that thing over there? "Yes Sarge." I don't wanna be seeing that thing over there. "Yes Sarge." Seriously, this is a beast of a weapon. You could go through an entire run with just this, and the only thing that would give you any significant trouble is the Hive Mind. In a weird sense, this is basically the Pulse Rifle on copius amounts of Space Meth. If this is your only weapon, you'll have plenty of ammo & cash drops to keep well stocked. *Line Gun:* It's like the Plasma Cutter & the Detonator had a baby, then pumped that baby full of Steroids. Paired with the Flamethrower, the only thing you'll ever have to worry about is whatever is in front of you. Call that combo the Ambush-B-Gon. Whatever the Plasma Cutter can do, this can do better. Its only limitation is that even with two weapons equipped, ammo for it is disproportionately scarce, so don't waste shots. *Force Gun:* Wanna make Impossible mode into one-life Story mode? Carry this delightful piece of crowd control and the Contact Beam to never worry about anything ever again. The ammo for both are equal in rarity, so you'll stay fairly well stocked up between the drops and shop. For taking care of entire waves at once, kite as many necros as you can into one area, drop a Gravity Well, then tear them to bits with the Contact Beam. Beyond that, this is both a fantastic way to get some breathing room, and an excellent way to show off the new dismemberment system, as a point blank primary will rip the flesh right off the necromorphs, leaving them laughably spindly. Doesn't do well against armored necromorphs, unless they hit a wall before falling.
The Ripper and Contact Beam are by far my favourite weapons (excluding the Pulse Rifle) of the game I had a so much fun using The Ripper to cut up enemies and when I first fired the Contact Beam and it imploded a Necromorph my jaw dropped.
I didn't use the flamethrower in my first playthrough, but when I tried it during my NG+ I had a blast with it! The way it fires combined with the lighting and necros make me feel like I'm in the thing, it really is fun to use.
Flamethrower and stasis was a great combo to not only keep things still but also to keep them in the firewall for much longer as some were able to just walk right through it
The pulse rifle has always looked so badass
I never thought i would hear "Skeleton Lords" from Ds II on a dead space weapon tier list video 5:29 Good song choice!
Flamethrower + force gun is a very strong combo. Flamethrower weakens them, then the force gun blows them to pieces
Inb4 I didn’t learn the pulse rifle had an alt fire until Chapter 10
Defo gotta say the force gun is slept on, it not only staggers and knock enemies down it reduces overall limb health by shredding all of the enemies skin down to the bone, swap to plasma cutter and it takes one shot on the limb to remove it, along with the alt fire gravity well that is just a get out of dodge button that can be paired with any other weapon to cause maximum damage. Would swap force gun to S and plasma cutter to S, move line gun to A as it deals high damage but is slow firing and needs a bit of prep work with the mines if you wana play perfect.
I really like how ammo efficient the flamethrower is, even just a little poot can set an enemy on fire and is almost always enough to save ATLEAST 1 shot for any other weapon where the ammo is more scarce, and the wall of fire is actually surprisingly good at clearing groups or the infector bat things as theyre creating a new enemy because enemies inside it seem to just get stunlocked until they die or the wall expires
The contact beam is awesome for how much its ammo sells for. I always carry it around just to get the ammo drops to then sell off.
I've been using the plasma cutter, ripper and force gun the whole time. Gravity well plus ripper standard fire just equals dismemberment heaven for large groups and I don't ever feel like I'm missing any firepower
badass bro - jack
Gravity well + anything is just bare minimum good.
@@thorinhannahs4614 this is true, gravity well feels almost as strong as stasis when used in the right situations
i am disappointed there's no Divet pistol, it's a pistol of secu gards , it can shoot in thrre burst and it was only usable in DS Extraction, why the hell?
I love the flamethrower because that's my response to any undead or infection. "Everything Burns" - Joker
Fully upgraded Pulse Rifle was my main gun on my run tbh, plasma cutter for secondary and contact beam for the occasional boss here and there. Loved the pulse rifle tbh
I always found the pulse rifle plasma cutter , that charge up rifle (not a bad weapon if you can get a charge off) , either the sniper rifle weapon or the buzz saw that has gotten me through every play through
Honestly I've been doing alright with the pulse rifle, it works well on taking out legs
The flamethrower actually just degrades the necromorphs, making them bristle, combining it with the saw, it shreds.
Flamethrower is fantastic for peeling enemies(similar to the effect of the force gun), reducing their defense so the next shot from the plasma cutter or other weapon finishes the enemy off.
The line gun is my fave gun to use just because of the alt fire. Especially when I put lasers vertically and horizontally
Plasma Cutter for Mid to Long range engagements or as a backup weapon Force Gun for Close range engagements and crowd control Contact Beam for Brutes, Bosses or for one shotting incoming enemies at long ranges. That’s all you need.
This is exactly what I discovered and am currently using, took the nodes out of everything else and beefed up these three majestic weapons and have been giving em the buisness ever since, now I'm actively looking for them now instead of being cautious, swiftly went from feeling like a cautious noob to a cold veteran that smiles when I pull the trigger
I was surprised at how well the flamethrower worked tbh. You just gotta stagger your usage and let the dot damage literally melt them
It is nice that the flamer won't trigger the pregnants to release their babies too... I just roast them up without fear of creating more little monsters.
It is enlightening to see what weapons works best for others for sure. At the end any weapon has its potential in the right hands and the game does a great job to let us figuire out how we wish to adress some of the drawbacks.
Yes bro, i completely agree with most of these choices. Reason why I mostly agree is due to the pulses alt but I have to try the line gun more.
Next to the Plasma Cutter, the Ripper is my favorite weapon to use. The aesthetic makes it look like something Issac cobbled together into a makeshift weapon, and i love it! Sure maybe the force Gun and even the Line Gun are better “shotguns” at close range, but nothing beats the look of killing your enemies with a floating sawblade! Just make sure you aim for the arms!
Fun fact, it's implied that the ripper (or at least variants of it) have existed since the 2200s when the Black Marker was discovered! In the book Dead Space Martyr Michael Altman, the man who discovered the Black Marker and "founded" Unitology, has a dream where he fights off a regenerating Necromorph with a weapon that launches saw blades. I put founded in quotation marks because in reality he was trying to stop such a religion from forming and he was turned into a martyr by the colleague who murdered him to spread the word of the Marker.
On my first run on Hard and I’m using only the plasma cutter and plasma rifle. I really like the mine thrower on the rifle as it comes in handy when there are groups of necros charging me
AoE makes sense I guess. After trying to use it on my Hard playthrough I left that thing in storage so I'd get more Plasma Cutter ammo.
Love your guys video...thank you
The mines on the millitary rifle are really helpful
For anyone who wants make the Pulse rifle useful earlier in the game I recommend using the flamethrower first on the necromorphs for a about 3 seconds but don’t fire for less than a second or it won’t work, then use the pulse rifle. That way the necromorphs takes less ammunition to take down.
good advice
Use the alt fire too
@@Swifto_Sweeper it depends if there’s a crowed of necromorphs yes but a single one then you end up wasting your fuel.
@@Cytonox how do I get my reward I’m just a random viewer?

No wonder Chen didn't stand a chance. He was using the Pulse Rifle...
The force gun has a few additional uses along with pushing back a horde that is too close for your comfort: - It kills swarmers in a single blast - It pops stasis modules on twitchers instantly slowing them down.
I've only started playing dead space 2023 on story mode and the pulse rifle is great. It might not do much damage in higher difficulty modes but I would choose it because when dealing with a brute or the leviathan or the huge tenticale arm grabs.
Thanks guys. First time DS player. Now I know where to concentrate my node upgrades!!
enjoy it!!! it's a great game!
Can't believe they combined the line gun with the detonator lol
In the original I used the Plasma Cutter, Pulse Rifle, Line Gun, and Contact Beam. The Pulse Rifle is fantastic for pinpoint shooting and the secondary firing options on both the Line Gun and Contact Beam were incredibly useful. The Force Gun and Ripper are both good options, but often adds extra steps to outright killing Necromorphs. (In DS2 the Force Gun was incredibly fun). Also, the Contact Beam is great for selling ammo for Power Nodes. Glad to see the Flame Thrower finally being useful. Looking forward to trying them all out again.
I've always been a Plasma Cutter and Pulse Rifle DUO. I occasionally use the others if i feel like it but i always have those 2 weapons on me at all time.
Pulse rifle 1 taps lots of tiny nuisance enemies and pops glowing growths without wasting more valuable ammo. It isn't the strongest, but it absolutely is the most conservative. When you need to open a fuse door from a distance, why would you waste any other ammo?
@@WarningStrangerDanger I've also found it's effective against wall guardians and their annoying pods they throw. Just burst shot a few times and you can kill their tentacles fairly easily.
@@WarningStrangerDanger The flame thrower is actually more efficient and stronger in the remake
Stasis and the Plasma Cutter are all I need. Cleared Impossible with One Gun. But the contact beam's perpetual laser is so much fun! In DS3 a rocked a Plasma Cutter with machine gun combo and JUST a Contact beam.
Somebody forgot the foam finger of death!
it was too powerful to rank😵💫
Great content!!! You got a new subscriber
I came to same conclusion, though I think the secondary fire of the assault rifle is really useful, the gun as a whole doesn't provide enough damage.
I go with Pulse Riffle always tho Contact Beam Is cool too, ammo for the Pulse Riffle Is easy to get early on and I like the challenge.
Pulse riffle always has been m'y favorite gun i love the design and always Near the end keep ~1000 ammo
I actually found myself leaning on the ripper in the flamethrower. I saved plasma and pulse rifle for a long range stuff, but the ripper really was a lot of fun.
Some added points you didn't mention, the plasma cutter has an upgrade that boosts melee to where you can severely knock away necros like slashers and stunlock them with melee, allowing you to kill lone ones without using ammo, sometimes taking care of two at once. And the flamethrower is amazing against dealing with small enemies like swarmers and divider peices with low ammo, and clears wall guardians almost instantly
That upgrade is able to knock the Hunter flat on its ass in one swipe. Once you get it the guy practically becomes a joke because you can knock him out for a decent chunk of time without using any ammo or stasis packs
Love the format. It's still true to your original formula but diversifies the topic. I would say my general feelings are about the same (having only played OG, so I guess not too much changed with weapons). I think it makes sense that the Pulse Rifle is the worst weapon because it's the only real "weapon" in the game. Everything else is some kind of mining tool which makes sense. Although in the OG the Pulse Rifle had a funny ass alt fire (Jack prolly brought it up at some point). Glad to see the Line Gun is still the realest in the room
Ironically the alt fire was good for speed running
The flamethrower is really really good… it doesn’t really do that much damage but if you pair it with a plasma cutter it turns and enemy from a 5/6 shot to a 2 shot
I gotta say, the pulse rifle alt fire is my go to when I know I'm walking into an ambush.. Just set up trip mines while standing in the doorway
I loved the pulse for its rate of fire and accuracy, found it’s high clip great and for aiming up far away explosives if needed
Underrated for bosses or glowing weak points. Anything else is a waste of more powerful weapon ammo.
@@WarningStrangerDanger i found the contact beam on primary fire to be much more better blowing up bosses yellow orbs than the pulse rifle which I had fully upgraded
@@omarcarrero3623 even better than that you can spam alt fire... But it is a waste of precious ammo to use your powerful guns on bosses.
Official EA partners? Congratulations, well deserved
sounds like a threat
@@Threat_LvL what?
@@jonathanbarlow1362 doesnt sound good to be a partner of a fking greedy company. oh and dont get me wrong. the real heros are the dev studios behind the game not the fking publishers.
You did not just diss the DS2 flamethrower, outside vacuum sections where it is actually useless, it's the strongest, most ammo-efficient weapon in the game.
The alt fire is actually decent in vacuum sections too
y, its so efficient. The only other weapon as efficient can be the line gun alt fire, because it lasts a long time and can kill like 10 enemies in that time frame.
I am doing a first run walkthrough right now and all of the guns are pretty good, especially the alt fire. I think the intent was to get you to think more tactically and get creative with the tools they give you as you experience the different scenarios. My favorite combination is plasma cutter, pulse rifle, and flamethrower.
I love the ripper, my fav weapon for sure. It doesn't get enough love.
Satisfying😊
I love the Pulse Rifle for its immediacy and a large 175 ammo clip. I feel safe with it in any situation. The second best one is the Contact Beam
My old school go to was the plasma cutter pulse contact and force. Pulse cuz I could use it as a more precise plasma cutter with a bigger mag, but now it doesn't stun so it's kinda hard to do that
My loadout in OG Dead Space was Plasma Cutter, Pulse Rifle and Contact Beam. In remake it’s Plasma Cutter, Ripper, Flamethrower and Contact Beam. They complimented each other well, and made for some interesting combos. Fire + plasma + ripper = soup
I loved the force gun the satisfaction from blasting 3-4 at the same time is so nice.

Secondary Firing Mode : Can Rotate Upto 90°. 2.Line Gun Primary Firing Mode : Fires Horizontal Plasma Shots. Secondary Firing Mode : Now Fires A Laser Mine. 3.Flame Thrower Primary Firing Mode : Same as the 1st original. Secondary Firing Mode : Now Fires Napalm Canister With Great Area Coverage. Likely To Be Taken From The Dead Space 2. 4.Pulse Rifle Primary Firing Mode : Same as the 1st original. Secondary Firing Mode : Fires A Grenade Launcher. Which Is Likely To Be Taken From Dead Space 2. 5.Force Gun Primary Firing Mode : Same as the 1st original. Secondary Firing Mode : Fires A Singular Miniature Black Hole Shot. Which Suck Every Enemies & Objects Towards It & Then Explodes. 6. Contact Beam Primary Firing Mode : Same as the 1st original. Secondary Firing Mode : Fires A Devastating Laser Shot.
The secondary on the Force Gun in the ORIGINAL was a gravity granade that knooked down enemies in it's splash explosion range when it hit an enemy. Great for staggering ground enemies, not so much for the flying ones since the granade is launch toward the ground not able to hit them.
Pulse rifle is objectively #1. Maxed out its almost broken.
The Ripper is great for stun locking certain enemies too. Especially those scorpion tail dudes.
Im using pulse rifle, force gun, flamethrower and contact beam. Wanting to max them all out now 😊
I've upgraded the Plasma cutter and the Ripper, so I got different function guns. But for the next play, I will upgrade the Force Gun and the Contact Beam, because I love both.
The only thing I'd add is with the ripper. It's extremely ammo efficient, with there being situations where you only need to use one or two blades to clear an area if you know what you're doing. That makes it superior to the force gun imo.
Yes I've nearly maxed the ripper and it's the only weapon ive been using it slaughters everything
The ripper’s great as long as you don’t get hit-which is easy to avoid if you know what you’re doing. The force gun is a bit better for those “oh, crap!” moments where you get jumped out of nowhere. However, they actually combo pretty well. Use the force gun’s gravity well, switch to the ripper, and you’ll have a bunch of necros in an impromptu blender that can’t fight back.
