  • Watched a LOT of English comedy over decades. Love both comedians, but this is first time I've seen this sketch. Brilliant thank you.

  • I believe this was inspired by Tex Avery's "What's Buzzin', Buzzard." The latter section where they are trying to do each other in suggests this, as does the closing music.

  • TV should show a Spike Milligan sketch every day to remind everybody that he was the funniest comedian the world has ever seen. Nobody will ever come close to him.

  • Amazing!! Don't make them like these guys anymore! That sound of the bow and arrow was the ssme sound used in the Intro to tho old 50s Robin Hood tv show with Richard Green at Sheperton.

  • I miss the anarchic comedy the 60's produced. Marty, Benny Hill and Monty Python. The arrow sound was the same sound from the beginning of the 60's Robin Hood tv series with Richard Greene!

  • those two actually looked the part....comedy in the 60`s and 70`s had to have `funny ` music...it`s as if the producers didn`t think it was amusing enough so this `funny ` music was added....just to let you know you could laugh...and canned laughter...not very subtle..a bit like hitting a fly with a heavy mallet so the overall effect was not that funny!

    • Studio laughter in the UK, Willie, not the stuff out of a tin. - but the point is good. The comedy-music compulsion seemed to ease off as the seventies rolled on - and nobody imposed farty trumpets and woodwinds on Python back in 1969. All best.
