I like the overall changes to some of the characters pasts, such as tarkata being a disease more than it being a race of outworlders, Shang Tsung being a sort of snake oil merchant who deceives people, and Reptile being an outcast of his race due to his transformations. Even though the multiverse plot is outplayed, the changed backstories actually fit with the characters to give them a more grounded approach as opposed to the past games.
Tbh the last chapter was goofy but I kinda like it lol
@@A_mir0_0 I like the callbacks to the 3D era, especially the select screen looking straight outta Armageddon and the pyramid mirroring that of Argus, but still they could’ve done a lot more with that. They really could’ve had the 3D era clash with the netherrealm era and everyone would’ve loved it.
Sindel, of all people, has no relationship with Shao Kahn (or Shao if he's General in Alternate Timeline). She stayed loyal to her family, and she's not an abusive mom anymore. Although it may cost her Overwhelming Cutscene Power and she's died a hero.
@Zerokin i still dont get why NRS treats Sindel like she's always been evil before mk1, even geras has an intro line where he mentions that sindel had never really been good until this timeline........ But my god, the original sindel was pretty much mk1 Sindel but looking like the wife of Frankenstein, lol

I'm not getting it either. Unless you play competitively against other players, you're paying for a one-time story experience in a fighting game which is hardly content worth paying full price for. They'll make their money back from development through sponsors and tournaments, plus DLC.
@austingallucci9893 I lost my interest to play MK games after MK trilogy & I've tried every single game after that but non of them is enjoyable to me. Well I did really like MK9 & a lil bit MKX but still not enough to buy 11. I have SF6 & I barely play it... maybe I'm not made for fighting games anymore.

it's crazy i'm 31 and I remember being so into these games/movies. love how they kept the story going, in a generation when everything gets ruined with retcon and re-dos, this is amazing.

Did you forget this entire last 3 games before this one? They had so many retcons to the original midway timeline if they didn't go with this new era plotline the mk universe would become like modern star wars with its disappointing, confusing ass lore

This is just mind blowing! Who knew Liu Kang and Shang Tsung both came from a timeline where they had their final battle in Mortal Kombat 11. The crazy thing is both of them have won in different endings and yet they match to create a new timeline from a different era. I swear that is just seriously mind-blowing.

A lot of amazing character work and a really intriguing story, I just wish they had actually stuck with the one timeline and just moved forward already. Mk9-11 was a fine story, and it ended. Just let it end and let’s stop doing the timeline shenanigans. At least it’s not another reboot. We’re still kinda moving forward.

it was the jax that tackled titan kitana also that timeline should be gone but it isnt my guess it liu really really hasnt been paying attention to order chaos and stuff like the vamp and nether realm so yeah his “perfect timeline” has some major flaws that other not so noble titans and individuals in his own timeline now know of and know of other timelines let alone realms so the scope of mortal kombat now reaches new tiers of widespread and absurd also interesting to see a good shang and quan chi even if they did die also the ones in prime lius timeline being locked up meaning they as evil still are still around and know how to use soul magic and shao is an asshole again lol and locked up w them liu may have delayed some things and changed others but in his design trying to keep down his prior malefactors he set them up to become his problems again least ermac/jarrod and sindel and the fam got a slightly better setting hopefully baraka and the tarkat issue get addressed also how the shit did liu miss that and not try to deal w it he really did go hands off and its caused a couple accidents it seems

I find it funny how in Liu Kang's Timeline he was still weary of Shang Tsung that he nerfed him. Yet in Titan Shang's Timeline, Liu Kang still has his Fire God powers. Did Shang learn nothing from his previous encounters? 😂😂😂
Chances are that LK's from Kitana's or Raidnen's timeline. Or it could be another unexplored timeline, who knows?

The story was on track to be a solid 10/10 until the multiverse crap started popping up. I would've understood if it was just shang tsung's timeline existing with Liu Kang's, as that was a major choice in Aftermath.......but now the arcade endings are ALL cannon?? And not only that, all the new mk1 characters were also somehow involved in mk11 and now theyre time lords too??? Even if it's Ed Boon himself, whoever's been shoving this time travel/multiversal nonsense into MK just has to stop, it made sense last time because the story got so bad we NEEDED another reboot, but now we finally have a good story going......why would anyone want to muddy that up?? I pray to god they just stick to Shao taming Onaga and Havik doing insane shit for the next game

Honestly I hate the fact that everybody got a happy ending even Sindel technically got one be United with her husband. The only people who really died who was kind of good we're the ones I that bootleg Armageddon event 😂
Shirrako has posted my favorite MK movies for years….lol. I think I liked MK11 story mode better overall b/c the multiverse stuff was really fresh then. However, I love that they seemed to have went back to some of the original characterizations for the cast and they did an excellent job with the set pieces and character interactions. Jumping forward to incorporate Deadly Alliance/Armageddon was clever too. Loved the music callbacks to MK11 when Lui Kang used his power..some extremely talented producers working with Netherrealm.

I like how they treat Ermac here. They referenced not one, but two of his ladder endings in previous games. With Ermac actually houses the soul of King Jerrod (9) and aids Liu Kang by fighting alongside him (Deception).

Nice story/campaign although the ending I dunno the timeline stuffs get confusing and feel rushed for me. The cinematic and gameplay is so good. Thanks for this movie compilation.

And really just think about it like every fan-favorite character was good. Molina a fan-favorite the story clearly revolved around helping her. The fans missed reptile so they brought him back gave him a human form like the fans ask for it made him a good guy The fans didn't like sindel being evil so they made sindel good again and they gave her a good *kinda* ending This was boring 😂

Shao Kahn has really fallen off as the main villain of the series. It is quite sad actually. He went from the Big Bad to a subpar jobber. What a disappointment. His rebellion should have been a bigger plot point.

Just finished the game. Played it over the weekend. My first MK since Armageddon back on the 360 lol and I was on the fence about buying it, nonetheless about paying 100 for the premium edition. But I am really glad I did. Had a blast playing it. The story was actually really good, the combat is challenging but satisfying and it seems like I’ll be consistently playing it for a long time. I’m on PC tho and there were some stuttering issues for sure, but I still managed to have a lot of fun.
It woulda been cool if each timelines character designs were different or more similar to their original timeline counterparts

So finding out that truth was very heartwrenching for us, and we got a good look at how she must have felt.

The story was the best of all 4 games, but it was really disappointing. Also I dont know if its just me, but the 3rd act with the timeline/multiverse felt a little out of place, there was no build up to it what so ever. They should've saved it for the finale and focused it on the deadly Alliance and lin kuei as the main villains
Where is Argus during all of this? Apparently Rain can make references to being his son. Shouldn't the god of Outworld be present during the tournament? (or did one of his sons kill him in this timeline as well?)
