  • I've traveled that road many times from the east coast to Arizona. I swear the sign said Amarillo 500 miles......I'd drive another 3 hours and the sign said, Amarillo 480 miles.😄 The best part is crossing into NM, absolutely breathtaking. Thank you for the video, so relaxing. Safe travels, God bless.

  • Thanks for all the shotgun rides this couple stuck at home due to Covid are able to watch. Whether the pandemic is true or not, we who love to hit the back roads and now are not, appreciate every single video you make. Keep on making those deliveries, and keeping America running. You do a terrific job of driving and making videos. Love, love, love 'em.

  • Hi Mountain Man Mike. As a kid I traveled on the original Route 66 from Chicago to Oakland, California. We were in a 50’s Chev station wagon. It had the 3 seats. Dad moved the back seat to the center and shipped the center seat. Mom had the baby crib in the center with my sister. I was in the back. I remember us going thru a sand storm that so bad you couldn’t see very well in front of the car.

  • I live north east of Gallup, NM. The weather is always so unpredictable, one minute it's sunny and hot, next it's windy and breezy or cloudy and snowy even in May.

  • Thanks for the shotgun ride thru New Mexico, needed to get out of the house, this social distancing is getting to me..hehe....Your windshield was clean of suicidal bugs but it show the dust bunnies on my screen...Gasoline here in Alabama is unleaded $1.56....diesel $2.46.....Glad to see lots of semi's on the roads. Roads are bad all over the USA...SNOW!!!!! Peace

  • Mike, I really have loved your videos since you started posting your travels. I was a territory rep for a automotive parts distributor in the midwest and used to spend my vacations driving west to visit my Mom while she was alive. I now live in utah and drive back to the midwest to visit. Go figure. I wanted to tell you that your videos mean even more to me these days with this Coronavirus and quarantine. Ive never stayed put this long in my whole life. Thank you man from the bottom of my heart the great videos and commentary and for keeping the life blood of this nation flowing. God bless you brother and stay safe!

  • Nice long video. I needed it. We saw tonight on the news our county has 34 active cases, so we haven't changed much. Remember that the planes came into Travis AFB. The bad thing that has me stumped, why didn't they set up those big military tents to see people with symptoms there, but no they sent them to area hospitals. Where my sister works clearing ER, that county has 121 active cases. I worry about her even though they are in med/surg outfit and N95 face mask with a plastic shield. Her crew calls themself "The Covid Busters". My step-daughter will be working taking swab samples from a drive-through tent area. She will be a RN in June but they closed her school due to the virus. They are hoping they will be graduated early, since they are on the front lines. Even though you have clean windows, I couldn't read things. I heard that Google was powering down their internet. I have noticed less clarity on other people's videos too. But then again, it could be me and my eyesight. I have had cataract surgery done and I am super good for distance. I can spot deer on the ridge of our hill. My husband is amazed with this. Reading up close gets tricky, but I do think it is the internet is messing with us all. I heard the internet and TV could go down tomorrow. We will see. One last thing, my husband and I are social distancing (not anything new because of the virus). I was watching this video and he called me to the front of the house to watch what he was watching......it was Garth Brooks receiving a special award and many Congress people where there. Nancy Pelosi was the head of the box seat next to Garth's family's boxed seats. He even sang to her. It made me sick...."Miss American Pie". One thing a few of the words fit her and this time...."when she dies"....did I say that? Forgive me God. Stay safe.

  • Another great vid, Mike. The State Flower of Texas used to be the bluebonnet but it has now been replaced by the traffic cone. Those things just spring up like weeds everywhere. You can always tell the level of corruption in each state by the condition of their highways. Yes, I'm looking at you, New Mexico.

She was an assembly of God missionary to the Navajo's just across the hwy at Pinion NM about 17 miles west of Gallup. We did go see Window Rock. Glad you're back filming.

  • I-40 looked like that in Amarillo when I was driving East tuh Jersey 9/28/17. It was rainy and chilly. Stayed overnight at the Best Western, and grabbed some Dinner at the Cracker Barrel. I really love the Road. There was a little Lady that tolerated two of those 72oz Steak Dinners. I would have never believed it, but I watched Her do it on KZhead. I agree. • I had a close and personal encounter with Route 66. In 1964 the Army decided to have maneuvers outside Kingman, Arizona so we (5th Infantry Division) drove our vehicles from Ft. Carson, Colorado to Pueblo, Raton Pass, Albequerque, Santa Fe, Gallup , and Flagstaff. We were riding in an M37B1 truck . When we got somewhere in New Mexico the Army decided to do public relations stunt by having us do a roadside cleanup on a section of Route 66. Fun times!!!!!

  • Love your videos of your travels Mike. In my youth I dreamed of being an OTR trucker but instead spent the last 43 years in a machine shop just retiring last year. I love to travel this beautiful country of ours and your videos are an awesome way of feeling that I am actually “riding shotgun”! ☺️ After watching your latest videos since I found your page since I retired and becoming a big fan from Pennsylvania I have been catching up now with some older ones. Keep them coming! ✌🏻 BTW, as far as I-40 being the truckers highway and living along I-80 myself here in PA I think it is right along with I-40 as far as being the truckers highway, and maybe more so, since it crosses the whole USA from New York City to San Francisco.

  • That billboard for the Love's Truck Stop kills me, advertising "Ice Cold Beer". Yeah, right; a bunch of truckers getting snockered, as they keep their appointed rounds(Laughs!!)! I DO wonder, where in their vehicles, a Commercial Driver, may stash a case or two, if they're towards the end of a Run, close to home? Because if they must stop at a Scale Shack, or some other Field Inspection, those cops discover that case or two, would that be curtains, for our Commercial Driver's career.

Last time I drove to Vegas we left El Paso up 25 to los lunas then 6 to 40 to kingman then to Vegas. A little longer but we used two days. Came back to Phoenix and 10 to elp. When you go north try some bottom lures they bite in the cold water off the bottom. Wooly worms or stone flies or even the plugs you use should work. Caught two large 22 inch browns Xmas eve in Ruidoso a few years ago using lures, spoons in the Img lake. Have a good trip see you next video. Edward

  • Each time I take a road trip into west Texas and I'm under that endless, unbroken sky, I cannot help myself: I always think of early settlers moving into or merely passing through this territory, in their horse drawn carriages, and the native Americans roaming that vast land on foot, long before they were introduced to the horse--how in the hell did those people ever survive? I feel so fortunate to be able to drive my car, unchaperoned, hundreds of miles, and just enjoy the beauty of the earth, knowing that I can fuel-up and get water and food at reasonable intervals. Take care out there and thanks!

  • Very enjoyable video but too bad no footage of the drive through Albuquerque where I currently live. And he is right about Interstate 40. Truckers really prefer this route since the weather is overall usually MUCH tamer than the interstates to the north (other than Flagstaff) and the steep mountain passes are fewer, too. I live about a mile north of the interstate and in the summer months with my home windows open, I hear truck traffic all night.
