  • Kai’s one liners always get me! “Very rarely we will be punished for being aggressive with glove, very often will we be punished when we are passive.”

    • @Big Dragon 1. They were foam balls, basically trying to catch a tennis ball from 15 feet. 2. He was using a trainer, like a 9.5" glove that hasn't been broken in. 3. Like you could do better lol

  • the best part of that was the fast or slow part. before they started hitting the ball he wanted him to take the extra shuffle and he kept doing it the fast way, but at the same time he was working on holding the line so coach let him work on that and didnt over coach him just let him hold the line and go fast runner footwork. he even made a joke about the video to loosen the player up a little and relax. once he took a good fungo and he felt like he was holding the line, he switched back to fast or slow and making the player say it and then process if he went fast or slow. such good coaching.

  • These videos are the best! As a little league coach while I don’t have all the great training equipment they have it’s nice to see how professional coaches really talk to players

    • @Big Dragon They are foam balls that are harder to catch so you have to have even better hands than a regular baseball. The foam balls will just bounce off the glove if your hands aren't good. He caught most of them. An average high schooler would butcher all of them.

  • Was fortunate enough to work with Kai on Infield drills at my time at Northern Colorado, nothing but knowledge on the game as well as drills that translate to game like situations! Good stuff here.

  • love this! One question, though. If you've determined it's a(4-step) slow runner but you get a weak grounder you'll want to change to a two-step(fast) release?

  • For a big league middle infielder he is awfully choppy. Loud feet. Overactive upper body nothing flows with the motion.

  • We better see something special this year. Defense was horrible last year with a few exception players. No big moves by the team and a lot of re-treads. Kai....you need to produce some Gold Glove players otherwise the farm system better produce them. Gmen are getting skunked in the Free Agency market. I think you are over your head and the Giants staff from the GM and down is in jeopardy this year. I predict a worse year this year than last. Kai....Please Please Please prove me wrong. I know you are trying hard and have a great opportunity, but I still think the best coaches have done it at the highest level. You seem like you would be a great coach at Low A,. but with the big club.....I am not sold.

  • I forget what vid some dope argues with me about errors. Giants are still LAST in the entire MLB....Come on bro....the WORST in the entire MLB. I am not sure the islands are where players come from...University of Puget Sound is not where Gold Glover players are generated and coached from. Let's get real.
