Honestly, I thought it was the most insane console design choice ever. A console... with a tablet for a controller. They completely stepped away from the innovative stuff like Wiimotes and went with something that provided a few new features, but in a bulky, complicated package. I hope they return to the focus on motion features(maybe this time with Vive-like trackering towers instead of the infrared bar) in the next gen with the intention of utilizing VR as an extra optional feature on top of that.

It’s relative to your own level- if you do worse than your average you still lose points even if the other person fails miserably.

For those who were asking, the cost of the Wii U was worth it for Splatoon and the opportunity to play a bit of this game (and what a game it is) with one of my favourite streamers. No regrets! @@UnstoppablePhoenix I had to switch controllers and change my setup a bit to get it to work consistently. Didn't help that the control system itself was really weird. Not that anyone saw me do it, but it made me feel a bit better haha

Watching Lexxy struggle was the most painful thing I ever had to witness
It's what anxiety and peer pressure feels like. You can hit the ball, but why can't you? Your idol is encouraging you but you're just getting more nervous. Time is ticking down, the stupid motion controls aren't registering Or could it be that you truly just suck at this game? What if you were made to die alone knowing you'll never hit the ball in Wii Sports Club golf? Eventually time runs out, you disconnect. "Never again" you whisper "Never again will I be hurt" you say louder, tossing your Wii U into the mulcher

Wii Sports Club is the only golfing game where you'll get murdered if you take too long to hit the golfball
imagine playing golf at an unfamiliar course and the ball is phasing through the club, you start sweating, unsure wether or not to tell the people around you, how could they even believe you? you keep swinging, the audience starts counting down and the golfers behing you are cheearing you on and as they get to one you just appear in your car outside the golf course.

I was playing the og Wii Sports, and I hit my hand SO FREAKING HARD on the shelf next to me that my finger literally EXPLODED into a bloody mess. It was horrifying. Somehow, no blood got on anything, but the bathroom trashcan looked like a murder scene with all of the bloody Kleenex once I got there..

Have you ever played this game? I have, and I know her sorrow. The golf game is impossible! I mean, I generally can at least hit the ball, but I get disqualified for running out of turns on almost every hole. It's sad, it was the only sport that got a major upgrade from the original on Wii, but they turned the controls into a nightmare.
I could have never imagined to play wii sports with other people, this truly is the future

The worst part about Wii Sports Club in the end was it's pricing model. Instead of putting it on the shelves at Walmart for Parents and Grandmas to pick up they made it an online subscription and only released a disc version about a year later. It's now one of the rarer WiiU games out there.

what I think is most interesting is how instantly recognizable the first Wii's music was, specifically Wii Sports, and they decided to take out the music in this. I remember in 2006 when it came out and how everyone sang it during recess only two weeks later. Hell, it's even more popular now, the memes having impacted an entire generation 15 years later. And...they just took the music out of this (kind of) full-fledged sequel? why?? Whoever made that decision needs to be fired. but I think the real question is why they made it in the first place! the entire appeal of the Wii is that everything was motion controls, which was revolutionary for the time in gaming! so they decide to take away about 90% of the motion aspect in favor of...whatever the fuck the WiiU was?
