    • @KHABIB TIME!!! As a Israel fan and MMA fan in general, I completely understand that Israel had to fight tactically like that to not get knocked out and win... but my guy was the one to call Romero out and proclaim he would finish him. I just think there are merits in the criticism on both sides that made for a "boring" fight , thus it was a no brainer that they'd be in a video like this.

  • People love to bash Woodley but both his fights get a pass for me, for the 2nd Wonderboy fight, he fought the way you’re supposed to fight someone like Wonderboy. Plus they came off of an amazing first fight. For the Maia fight he tore his labrum and was basically in survival mode the entire fight. So he couldn’t throw with his power hand, plus Maia just kept going for takedowns the entire fight. What was Woodley supposed to do, let Maia take him down and then get submitted or lose on points? Pfft. Woodley played it smart, plus he was handicapped. I actually find it super impressive that he was able to defend that many takedowns, which I think he still holds the record for. He completely shut Maia down. So yea, Woodley gets a pass from me.

I remember in the Usman fight woodleys corner kept telling him "you need to do something NOW", like three rounds in a row and he proceeded to keep not trying and letting Usman bully him. Now I know the argument will be "Usman is just a better wrestler". Which yeah he is but the Colby match I'd give so much more respect to Colby than Woodley because Woodley didn't leave it all in the ring he looked dazed and bored the whole fight.

    • @@Vegeta68041 Yea it was the Usman fight where he actually looked different. He literally had nothing for him. There must have been a mental block or something. He did say he was going through some personal shit during the leadup of the fight. But now, ever since he got his belt and soul taken by a Usman, he’s never been the same. @deiondre0@deiondre04 жыл бұрын
    • That's the point woodly defended everything Maia did. He was just defending and not attacking you can't say you won the fight if you don't attack, yeah he did not touch you but neither did you. • i would say izzys fight was worse...... getting on the ground with maia is basically fight over. he had to worry about around 20 takedown attempts and he managed to stuff all of them, not to mention having a torn labrum to go along with it........ people just love to hate woodley..... people say he had a boring fight in the second thompson fight but i actually think it was a great fight

  • the thing about Maia and Woodley is that if I remember that fight correctly. Maia suffered some sort of eye injury (which can be seen in the post-match photo around his left eye) which I thought came from an eye poke but I may be wrong, could've been a regular strike. Maia also I think injured his leg during the fight which was affecting his takedown attempts and why he really could push the fight in strikes... If I'm right. If this was what happened, it's even more disappointing when Woodley probably could have ended the fight almost at anytime, considering I think it happened early in the first or second round.

  • The boring fights are usually the ones where you have the wrestler/bjj guy vs the striker. The grappler wants to just sniff a crotch and only focus on takedowns while the striker obviously doesn’t want that. The stakes are often high because a win might get you either a title or a title shot (and serious money) while losing gets you 100k and a beat down. This is the risk of mma.
