His kicking stats in every boks test he's played is only around 73%. The rest is hype, marketing and influencers. Manie is light years ahead of Pollard., Pollard had a long shit stint in 2021. Manie will fix it once the marketing men shut up and the coaches grow a pair of balls. Springboks have finally unearthed a fly half who can weave magic - and the old guard doesn't like it because although he can speak Afrikaans, he looks too Khoi San African.

    • @@riccardovanwyk8188 Brah what are you talking about? He shows emotion whenever the team scores or for example when his kick-pass went to Arendse, and rightly so he deserves to celebrate that. And I agree he could be one of the greats in a Bok jersey. But that "it's his passion" BS doesn't pass the sniff test. He's a professional first and foremost, and his job is to score points. He can celebrate once the points are in the bag.

    • We could have won that game, even with his kicking, but we chose to replace Marx with a fly half and not a hooker. With one throw of the ball, Deon Fourie potentially lost us more points than Manie, turning an attacking lineout on the 5y to a defensive scrum for Ireland through an unforced error; he then played loose forward instead of hooker in the final move of the game and did not get to the tail of the maul to secure the ball as all of our hookers do. That is the gamble that we took when we did not bring Dweba in and I said that at the time - of course I was shouted down by the PollyFans. If Dweba had started with his Stormers team mates, Bongi come on with his regular partners, chances are we would have done better at the death because Bongi knows what to do and has scored plenty times from there, including a clock-in-the-red win against France. Of course, with an average kicker on the field with 15 forwards, I have to question why the fuck we were going for the Hail Mary kicks in the first place...??? The Ireland forwards should have been out on their feet at the end there but we let them off the hook for the first 60-70 minutes; no mauls, no kicks to the corner (where Manie is BRILLIANT), just playing off the top and down the backline in one move. Why??

His kick from hands and attacking finesse should see him on fullback, not fly half.(eh ehm Damian willemse) Played rugby with Club level Fly halfs that could slot 80% over a season, at springbok level i find it very…very hard to believe there is no better fly half full on offer in our country. Doesn’t matter how good your attack on ball is if you leave 11-15 points a game on the field there is simply no making up for it at test match level.
