  • You can hear a song a thousand times but that voice makes you hear it. Really hear it for what it is and what it means. Johnny was Johnny God rest his beautiful soul. This artist is obviously equally talented and I appreciate his voice. Man to hear these songs for the first time again fantastic... E

  • Johnny Cash's voice echoes the words clearly like a megaphone in a cave. The timeless song and words beat anew with this heartfelt rendition. The Original artist nailed it. Johnny hammered and worked the words until they were stretched and found a new deeper, darker, profound meaning. Louder, slower, clearer. Johnny released each word like a butterfly leaving its chrysalis for the first time. He just sweetly embellishes or emphasizes each word. What a great performance and version.

  • [Verse 1] Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains within the sound of silence [Verse 2] In restless dreams, I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone 'Neath the halo of a street lamp I turned my collar to the cold and damp When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light That split the night, and touched the sound of silence [Verse 3] And in the naked light I saw Ten thousand people, maybe more People talking without speaking People hearing without listening People writing songs that voices never shared And no one dared disturb the sound of silence [Verse 4] "Fools," said I, "You do not know Silence like a cancer grows Hear my words that I might teach you Take my arms that I might reach you" But my words, like silent raindrops, fell And echoed in the wells of silence [Verse 5] And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made And the sign flashed out its warning In the words that it was forming And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tenement halls And whispered in the sound of silence"

My brain has pains, right behind my forhead, which has maybe a basil cell growing rampant, since 2014. I only where hats so people cant see it. I got tired of people looking at it when we conversed...I fear, I cant ger it out of my head. I dont trust doctors anymore, they chose demonic encantaions and pharmasuticals to heel, yet they kill. I will leave it to my Creator God, to heal me, or allow me to perish. I am good with that. 👊

    • And unlike many in his genre, he was willing to bring rockers into his circle of influence. A thing that didn't often set well with the country music establishment. The thing about JC was, he had clout, and he didn't care what everybody thought about him.

  • My great grandaddy loved playing Johnny Cash music and June Carter and her sisters music, I think they were called The Carter Sisters but I was very young then so I can't really recall. But then my grandmother actually was friends with Johnny and June and they attended church together near Goodlettsville and she and my cousin were in his Christmas movie too. I love his music and when June passed I remember telling my grandmother, "well I guess Johnny will pass soon", because that's how it works right when you've been together as long as they were and plus it was June who was 'caregiver' to him through all his health and troubles, she always stood strong through it all and he knew it. When I'm feeling nostalgic I come looking for some Johnny Cash. I go and watch the episode of him in the Columbo shows too. There's just something about him.
