Judes potential is rather monstrous honestly he is 3 years younger then Foden is already playing for Madrid at the age of 20 and is La Ligas top scorer no less at the moment. There is no question here whoever manages England needs to build around Bellingham, can you imagine him when he reaches Fodens age at 23?
While I agree, on the other side of the picture, you can put Jude anywhere on the pitch with any role, he can win games for you single-handedly.

@@TP-pq9xx But Haaland won't be very accepting of a bench role in Real Madrid. There are better players ahead of him. No chance of him joining to mess up the dressing room space. Real Madrid was already willing once to let him go to Man City because they wanted to wait for Mbappe.
If you look at England Saka, is better than both of them and stats show this.
It's easier to start for that Madrid than for the Man City foden played for. Bellingham wouldn't start ahead of KDB at man city when he was 20. Also Foden has just as much if not more potential. Foden at Jude's age was knocking PSG out the UCL with a masterclass, it's not like he wasn't good at 20.
Lets be honest it should be Jude. Foden is a system player. He is literally anonymous for England.

Jude was the best player in Germany last year, and he’s the best player in Spain this year. Foden is exceptional, but it’s not the same. Bellingham is the crown jewel at the biggest club in the world right now. Foden is another cog in the city machine. One of their key players, and generational sure, but not the same.
Foden is exceptional in by far the best league in the world. Jude has been exceptional in some lesser leagues, but it's not the same.

Foden has almost double the assists and double the expected assists of Bellingham. And Maddison is around that same level as Foden as a passer. Bellingham is not in the same league as a playmaker as either of them and I'm not sure if he will ever reach that level.

Phil primarily plays in the advanced right half space, Jude primarily plays in a slightly deeper left half space. They naturally fit together and have rice playing in behind. This midfield is all playing in their preferred positions, dont mess it up Southgate! You can also play maddison and let Foden play RW which is what I would do.
With the addition of Mainoo and suddenly England have the opportunity to create a magic square attacking midfield. The danger is counterattacks without the pace of Walker. To add: I honestly don’t trust Maddison in that position because if his tackling; I think he’s vulnerable to Ref-cards in a tournament

Answer is obvious. Bellingham. Foden is great against lesser opponents but goes invisible against top teams. When is the last time he did anything against Madrid, LIverpool or Arsenal? Every time Foden does a great game the pundits start praising him like he's Jesus Christ. He got a hat trick against Villa who had five starters out of the lineup. Foden is only good when he plays against poor teams. Bellingham does it against everyone.

And like I said no winger has really had a big game against him. I think he would be a quality squad player for any team including Madrid since he plays in multiple positions and will only improve. England have so many attacking stars they shouldn’t build around one player no disrespect Saka has been far better in an England shirt than both Foden and Bellingham. Bellingham is a great player but still feel he gets more hype just because he plays for Real Madrid. For me Saka has been playing at that elite level quality for 3 or 4 years and Bellingham only 5 months. England to focus on getting a coach that doesn’t continually select slow central defenders over defenders with more potential leaving England weak at the back.

The England national team have a very interesting problem on their hands that nobody is talking about. Both Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden are on fire right now, they're generational talents who are in red hot form, but here's the problem both of them play in the same position. At Real Madrid, Bellingham has been playing as a number 10 he's been thriving and you can see how many goals he's scoring despite the fact that he's not really a proper striker and England have been using him in that position. Foden on the other hand seems to play his best football as an attacking midfielder and while he can play out wide, it's very obvious that he's not a proper winger, he has the technical qualities of a midfielder. There are people who think that he doesn't play in his proper position, and while he's played well on the right, you get more of him when he's playing centrally. Both of them are very versatile, let's not forget that, yes Bellingham is scoring so many goals, but how many times do I have to say that he's still a midfielder, he can play in any midfield role whether it's in an advanced role or he's a box to box midfielder and he can also play LM and CF too. I don't know who they'll build their team around because both players are so good and are having incredible seasons at club level, I think Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden can play in the same team and they can thrive together if Foden is playing in a position that suits him in the long run.
