United fan here and i hate all things Liverpool but i have great admiration for Steven Gerrard. An icon who never gave up, never quit on his team, and never ceased to amaze, i consider it a privilage to have seen this man play in my lifetime. Steven Gerrard is more than a Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard is Liverpool. A shame to see him go but he is a player i will tell my kids about and will never forget what he had brought to the premier league.

Im crying so much. Call that ridiculous if you must, but this man has made me tear more than most other people over the years. Mostly joyful tears, like the FA Cup final in 2006 or the CL in 2005. It feels like the heart of Liverpool is being removed and it hasnt got a donor ready for a transplant. I have mixed feelings about him leaving. Its what he wants to do, and we all need to respect that. But another part of me believes he should be finishing his career at Liverpool. Im so proud and im so grateful for everything he has put in to this club. He has carried it on his shoulders for many years and even the toughest soldier needs a break. Steve Gerrard, you are a legend and you will be missed more than you could ever imagine. YNWA lad. Please come back soon one day.

As a neutral, i think gerrard deserved much more than one champions league, and it says so much about his character that he stayed at liverpool, even though deep down he probably knew his teamates werent good enough to win the league, he still dreamed of winning the league, and as a one man machine tried his best.

I'm not a fan of Liverpool, but I am a huge fan of the Premier League, and as a fan of the Premier League, I have to say Steven Gerrard will be hugely missed. Not only is he one of the best midfielders to ever grace the Premier League, but his loyalty to the club he grew up supporting is a trait that is getting rarer and rarer, and one that means more to fans than any talent that only stays at the club for a couple of years. Best of luck in the future, Gerrard, and I hope there are more like you in the Premier League in the future.

im not even a liverpool fan but gerrard is definetely one of the best players ive watched in my life. maybe doesnt have the flash messi or ronaldo have but he is a brilliant organizer, a great shooter and passer and what makes him stando out is the effort he gave into every game. he would never quit, my favorite example is the champions league final comeback, he was definetely the one which lead that comeback scoring that first goal you could really see the other players feed of him, he wasnt just good he made everyone else better. on top of that he is probably one of the most loyal players ever, liverpool has been in terrible form that last years and he could have easily gone to another club to get a premier or another champions. when i have a kid, im gonna show him how steven gerrard played the game, best of luck captain
