Steven Gerrard's final game for Liverpool at Anfield ended in a humbling defeat by Crystal Palace. On an emotional day captain Gerrard, in his 709th game for the Reds, walked on to the pitch through a guard of honour, accompanied by his three daughters.
Adam Lallana punished a defensive error to put Liverpool ahead, before Jason Puncheon levelled with a free-kick.
Wilfried Zaha's goal 22 seconds after coming off the bench and Glenn Murray's late effort tainted Gerrard's party.

I’m a Palace fan and was at this game... Whoever you play for went out the window non this day. Us Palace fans stayed because he was an unbelievable player who represented our country with so much passion and he deserved the respect he was given. I actually gained even more respect for him due to the fact he took the time out to applaud us for applauding him.. You won’t get many more like Stevie G.. An unbelievable player.
