  • It sure is amazing retreading old tires into new ones. I guess it's ok for tractors & trucks that runs in slow speed. Not sure the adhesive will hold & not come apart at high speed. Nevertheless they are recycling old tires into new ones which is good.

    • It is not glued but vulcanized. It's like welding the material chemically.

    • retreaded truck tires are common in the US, and pre radials, you could get them for cars as well.

  • Dessa forma de emendar nova borracha não é bom, são esses pedaços de pneus que a gente vê na beira da pista que soltou, e bom quando usa uma fita de borracha bem mais fina e da bastante volta aí não tem uma ponta emendando na outra

    • At least they cut it with that rotating device. In another video that showed retreading of old tires, the tires were cut completely manually, probably causing an unbalace.

    • I sat on a plane next to a Factory rep for a major tire manufacturer. He said retreads are often better than new, as any flaws would have ruined the original long ago. Some tires on truck can be retreaded several times

    • A tire that size runs about 6-800 (per tire) new. More if you’re buying it in a developing nation. This retreaded tire will cost about 2-400 allowing this shop to make a pretty good profit for less than a days work and allowing the customer to save *a lot* . Yes. It’s cheaper.
