In this tutorial, Taevis takes Mike and Jess into the park for the first time!
The goal of this video is to show how you should approach a park for the first time.
We also show how we use the methods from the Learn To Jump Series and apply them to our students.
The park can be scary. but it can also be safe! so watch this video and take notes:)

Another great tutorial! Thank you so much for these. I can't wait for the next one on this series. I'm itching to get into the park now.
That's awesome!!!
I wish I had someone teach me like that on my first day lol.
Excellent communication these little tips are golden cheers 👍👊
Stoked to hear it!!!
Great video. Started doing more park but only jumps and the big box. Watching Mike and Jess easily start jumping so easily was fun. Good format. Showing videos of others progression.
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Tried my first (kiddie) park jumps today thanks to this video. Your patience with your students gave this older dude confidence and your awesome tips made it easy! Landed my first 6, 8 & 12' jumps! Thanks!
Stoked to hear it, congratulations!!!!
taevis is such a great teacher/coach
Just joined Addiction+! Can’t wait to see the community.
That's awesome!!!
I love this!!! I would love to see his progression 😊
Such a helpful vid, nice!
Great video guys. Loved the break down on the small jump. I know that feeling he got off the last jump!! Stoked! Best part about snowboarding, when you hit that next progression after working hard.
Glad you enjoyed it!🙌🏻
Great video Taevis!!
Thank you!!!
Taevis we all know you were terrified on that box! 😉
Brilliant series, it’s great seeing the progression.
Oh man, this video came out too late... My ski resort near me closed recently. Guess i have to wait for next year.🙃🙃🙃
We wanted to do it sooner, but we had no snow earlier this year haha
I like how by the end they’ve completely bailed on the chick 🤣
Filming 2 students was harder then we anticipated haha but Jess made great progress as well!
My bad, 1 Mic was not the move😅
Great video! Please make more of these
Thanks! Will do!
They were so bold.
Good stuff
Awesome video SA. On the video @12:35-12:36, when doing the micro ollie, do you tell them to push off both feet evenly when popping with the weight on the back (angled with the jump), or should they push off a tiny bit harder with the back foot? Loving these series.
Both feet evenly with their weight slightly shifted over the back foot. this allows them to make contact with the snow longer. the goal is to have even pressure though your full snowboard during the whole time you are leaving the lip:)
@@SnowboardAddiction thank you SA! excited to see the rest of the series!
So are you flat basing with slight pressure on the toe-side / balls of your feet? Sorry, new to boarding, and definitely new to park/jumps. Riding flat makes me feel like I’m gonna catch an edge lol
Yes exactly, slight pressure on the balls of the feet help with feeling in control and cut through the snow. Practice this when just riding. If your board is bouncing around you are too flat based.
First
Please wear a helmet. Espec. in the park
For sure!!! We will make sure helmets are used in all of our videos in the future, we are helmet boys for life💪
For channel that suppose give example why you let him jump without helmet??
We never normally would, but we forgot to mention it so we decided to go with it. But in the future it will always be a requirement!
Great, but jumping from kickers without a helmet is a very bad example to lead
100%!!! We will make sure to tell the student to bring a helmet next time! We forget to make it a requirement when finding someone. Our bad🙏🏻
