  • Alright my friends, back to day 3 of swell bender in may, after the large tow day! Exhausted and Beat up we headed back out to see what we could find and bingo it was still pumping! Session had an extra edge to it because of how exhausted everyone was, did that stop the send? Not a bit haha! Ride the lightning! Stay tuned because we ended up going back out for more this days evening and ivan and i had one of the sessions of our lives!

    • @@antoninperrin1869 Yeah, I heard Nate point that out in his commentary at the end of this video...many moons🌙 ago, while living on the eastern seaboard of the USA, I took my first surf trip to the island of Hawai'i...right from the outset I fell in love with the people & culture of Hawai'i...so, I eventually moved to the Big Island...I married a Native Hawaiian woman, who was also part Marquesan & Irish...she was descended from Hawaiian Ali'i, & all her family were big wave surfers 🏄‍♂️...I was always so in awe of seeing Native Hawaiians surfing so gracefully & effortlessly when I'd go out surfing all over the Hawaiian Islands 🏝 ...I used to really be amazed at their deep brown & bronzed skin, which always seemed so shiny & glistening in the sun & ocean, with the water just sliding off their backs...later on, I took a trip to Rarotonga for The Pacific Arts Festival, & the theme that year was Polynesian Voyaging Canoes...I remember the Hawaiian voyaging canoe, Hōkūle'a sailed down from Hawai'i...also, everyone was talking about how the voyaging canoe from Tahiti had been paddled over, without sail, all the way from Tahiti to Rarotonga...the different voyaging canoes then sailed/paddled from Rarotonga to Aitutaki, where I was staying for a couple of weeks...I remember seeing the Tahitian paddlers closeup & they were all incredibly fit..I can't really even imagine what it must look like to see these guys surfing huge barrels in their home waters...I'm just happy to be able to see a bit of it here

Thank you for the treasure trove of content. When I first discovered you, it was your paddle out vids that snared me, and the fact you place a camera in your mouth, while paddling into, dropping into, knifing into, backside, frontside, the sickest waves on the planet. • Nathan, With your videos it is informative that you show the paddling effort before the drop in, the incredibly steep drops, and the wipe outs. The camera keeping an eye on those that got pummeled is important for us novices to see what the surfers have to deal with. Those drop ins look so steep it appears that I'd be lucky to make one out of ten attempts. Hard to handle nine powerful wipe outs.
