With the power of the big 10, many of the semifinals and finals from this tourney are previews of the semis and finals of the upcoming NCAAs. I don't know what to think of the 174 weight class though - the top 2 guys in the country both unlikely to compete? The rest of the field wide open? And a lot of these were so close that you could do them every week this year and still never know who was favored in the next match.

  • Iowa needs new coaches this was a absolute embarrassment for the Iowa program, their wrestlers of late have consistently gotten worse over the course of there career and are always coming up short when they really need it, they hang on your head for 7 minutes and don’t take shots and are hoping that u eventually gas out, yes they are missing 2 return stud muffins but u can't rely on 2 returnees to carry u anywhere near a team title, and 5 semi's and only 1 wrestler who is absolutely horrible in putting up points, the brands brothers were relentless and that was the iowa way of doing things but if your recruiting guys who clearly aren't takedown technicians then they need to be on point with wrestling relentless, but these guys half the team are afraid to take shots just hang on your head and if they do have a 1 or 2 point lead are afraid of losing there lead and stop wrestling, I am a Iowa fan but I can't believe what these guys are willing to put there bodies thru the sacrifice they go thru and then I see real woods going out guns blazing and literally stop wrestling after being up by 1 or again 2 points,

    @ciriloreyes3184@ciriloreyes31842 ай бұрын
    • The brands brothers aren’t the problem, they are ingrained in Iowa culture, and you can see in every interview that the team loves them. They prioritize the individual, then the wrestler. It’s the recruiter who is the problem. Sure we can get good recruits in the transfer portal, but why is it that we have such a hard time getting good out of state recruits in high school? Iowa is a very notable ncaa team, but our reputation is slowly going down the drain with the way this is going. This is one of the best programs in the country, how is it that weights like 184 and 285 aren’t more competitive? Riggins is wrestling 30 pounds up for fucks sake.

He could go far in the NCAAs. Truax continues to be just below the top guys. Truax is a good wrestler, but he is not elite. He needs some good fortune in the NCAAs to get to the semi's.
