Whilst I'm obviously a fan of the Benz having previously owned a w205 C250d and w204 C250CDI, I think it definitely varies by market and positioning. For some reason in Oz, the Benz seemed to be a better value proposition than the others in terms of standard equipment and performance back when I was buying. If I were to buy again in 2019 though it would be a different story where performance & equipment levels of the rivals has improved significantly and the facelifted w205 feels a tad dated now (but it hasn't aged as badly as I thought it would with the floating interior).

I bought my Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport 2 months ago and I am just in love with this car. I am a driving purist and I put driving at the center of my needs. 50-50 weight distribution, carbon fiber drive shaft, excellent ZF transmission, balanced chassis, limited slip differential that makes it so easy to rotate the car in turns, 305 ft pounds of torque, and best of all, delivers the most precise, communicative steering since the days when BMW actually made drivers' cars....it is incredible. Great review as usual. I like the fact that for boot space, you take in consideration all the things that people actually use it for like a bike. I did have those cars in my shortlist but at the end I sacrificed the not so good boot space and ordered the Giulia Veloce. Really loved the test drive
I think one of my favorite things about carwow videos is checking the boot (trunk) space. All the car review channels I watch are for different specific reasons.

14:00 One often overlooked feature in the C class boot is when you pull on the lever to push down the rear seats, the front passenger seat moves slightly forward automatically if it's been pushed back/reclined. I always thought that was quite clever so that you can push the rear seat down without it hitting the front passenger seat.
I think it won't do that if someone is sat in the passenger seat

Jaguar XE. I've had two, the first series which was a great car, and the second series which is a stunner. Perplexingly overlooked here. Beautiful to look at and a really sharp drive. No reliability concerns unlike the Audi A5 we had before which had a series of mechanical issues. Motoring journalists tend to mark the Jaguar down for not having much room in the back seat. It's a sports sedan, ffs!
Was it in the same price range as these? It probably wouldn’t be in the video if it didn’t match the price of the others.

I have the Giulia Veloce (Ti Sport here in the States) and it is absolutely brilliant. Then again I'm maybe the only person who doesn't give a shit whether the infotainment screen is touchscreen or not. The system works just fine, the car feels solid and it is a sublime machine to drive. Blows away the others in driving dynamics. I always laugh about the whole "interior plastics" as if you're going to constantly rub the bottom of the middle compartment every time you get into the vehicle. Besides, the interior design is brilliant and sleek without that stupid "iPad glued to dash" design that some other cars have which incidentally looks cheap as hell. The only issue I have is that you can't disable traction control for some good ol' fashioned drifting fun. The car's chassis and weight balance is incredibly brilliant so it's damn near impossible to get sustained wheel spin on a sharp turn (also thanks to the AWD system). And, yes, my Giulia is red.

I hate those bolted on screens, they look out of place and cheap aftermarket. They also look like they take away from visability. Looking at you Audi and Mercedes.
I don't know about the A4, but in the Audi S3 you can push a button that sends the screen down in to the dashboard. Quite useful if you feel it's in the way.
The Mercedes one is really bad I can't stand it the other pet hate in a lot of cars for me is piano black plastic it looks glorious but you are forever cleaning it and as it ages it scratches and looks horrible. I much prefer the screen to be intergrated into the centre console.
I agree with plagues comment on the Audi's you can make it disappear into the dash if you want. Also, when you do use it, at least in the size that's in the Audi A3 oh, it doesn't really interfere with vision and it gives you an easier heads up view of some information.

Could u please compare XC60, Corsair, Q5, Velar and NX in 2020? I think these cars are the same level to make comparison. Especially for lincoln corsair cos i've never seen american cars in your contrast videos.
Giulia, because true love doesn't always have to make sense
🤢 Italian cars is shit its a fake bmw serie 3
Make sense but i dont trust their interior quality
@@alexandergrzx300 you are the real deep shit
@@alexandergrzx300 your car taste is absolutely rubbish
Because You like Fiats :)
I dont care about the faults, I would still take the Alfa for all the love that it can give.
Yeah, Alfa has spent a lot on their service centres to make you feel even more special and comfortable while you wait.
@@footballgeorgiebest not accroding to UK stats, its german cars that spends lots of time there
@@aosorea my Alfa 147 never broke down, in 150k kms, the only thing that went wrong was a flat battery(11 years old), my VW golf on the otherhand was a disaster.......
This idiotic love for alfa. If alfa sold a dog poop with its logo, some would praise it anyway.
@@Anttihii i agree its just stupid stereotype about alfa romeo
A drag race of this particular models would do❤️
Brilliant review. Really took a lot of my questions away. So BMW it will be for me :)
Wait to see the list of option to get anything near to what's presented here...
I would go for Alfa Romeo any time, but the BMW is also attractive.
Theo K ur sure ? Shit brand
@@excedo8734 shit coment!
Lol. Whatever. As far I know they make horrible cars. Not reliable... common fact with Italian cars lol.
RealCapo88 lol. Lambo is owned by the VAG group. And still... German cars score higher on relaible score then Italian cars, come on lol
@@excedo8734 you don't know a shit of cars, the german cars are every time on the side of the road waiting for the tow car... german reliability is a fucking joke!

I just bought the 330i and it’s amazingly good to drive, lots of room and a great engine.
Matt, I like your videos however why in the UK with the weather we have that you would recommend a 3 series, its my opinion however I believe the A4 is a better "all round" car as you can drive it in the rain & snow without needing 4WD. That's just the start, the BMW is far too expensive for what you get. Just my thoughts!
No Jaguar XE? The best out of your current line-up would be the GiuliaI
I've found Bmw3 a bit more practical, but still going for facelifted Jag, as it is more fun and much nicer inside.
I imagine the Jag would not be too competitive.
XE is nice looking and luxurious, but wouldn't be close to the Alfa or BMW in terms of performance. Agreed about the Giulia being the pick out of this group.
@@tomgaydos9128 performance is not only 0-60 time. Jag and Alfa corner muuuch better than the new Beemer.
isnt the tesla (model 3 or sth) in this exact category? both in money and spec? i was expecting to see some multi comparisons here...
Absolutely the best car tube right now closely followed by Savage Geese thanks Mat for being professional, hilarious and educating👍😃
I'd take the Volvo S60 first choice and Alfa Romeo second choice, stunning looking cars 👌👍🏴
