James May wasn't even in the first series. Though James and Jeremy were both part of old Top Gear. Hammond and May on the other hand only just started working together in series 2.

Chris Harris is the only reason I watch top gear at this point. If he was still on KZhead I’d watch him there. Flintoff and mcguinnis whilst good guys are not car guys and don’t belong on top gear. I agree. Give Chris the job solo and stop trying to make it what it was because it’ll never work.

@@user-bc6yz1jk6c but they are ugly are they not, German sports cars are overpriced in general, down here in Australia I can buy a 5 year old ford falcon xr8 with a supercharged 5.0 v8 and buy the factory backed holy grail for 470 kw and 730 nm torque and upgrades suspension and tires to handle that immense power for just under 90,000 aud, or buy an Fpv f6 310, another falcon with a turbo six which blows modern similarly priced bmws out of the water with mid range acceleration, 600 nm torque from 1950 rpm to 6000 rpm, German cars are overrated get over it, and because of the build quality in those cars engines (I must say the interiors are shit bit oh well) they last twice as long too
