Some great attention to detail, at 44:56, we can see three knives in the block when the character is down there, but, at 47:46 there are only two, after Cara too one of them.
Especially when you do the 3rd phase of “engrossment”, you can hear her pick it up before she turns the oven on.

@@ryancommented9172 there are many ways you could look at it. In real life, sneaking is dangerous too. If they see you sneaking, you will have an initial disadvantage but to make a run for it, closing the door is the best option as it will buy you an extra second.

If u close the door then they will definitely see u and it takes less than a second to open a door, assuming it's even fully closed before they notice. By sneaking away or even just sprinting away u will have more distance between u and the person before they notice.
