    • Unfortunately, when I saw There Will be Blood for the fist time, and I really didn't know anything about it at all, what I've notice emediately that Paul Dano was outclassed in every sense. I was annoyed by him, not as a character but as a screen presence. It looked off, I was wondering "why this guy", but over time I grew to like him and precisely because he is so off, his character fits that particular idea of a fake clergymen. It is that striking difference that reflects the hard core capitalism and hard core perversion of religion. It is very "meta" in that sense. Where I think Paul shined is the Looper for some reason. He is definitely memorable actor and now I actually want to see him more on screen because he is quirky and original, I think. I am not blown away with his performance like I was with Daniel Day Lewis, that was incomparable to anything else in cinema, but Paul adds something, its like a dish that has that one spice, it doesn't make the dish but without it it would be very different overall impression.

Daniel and Paul knocked it out of the park with their performances. I cannot get tired of talking about that film I could go on for hours. I always recommend it to anyone in a close proximity to me 😂 it’s one of those films that I would understand if it isn’t for you but I now for certain it will hit deeply to those who need it at that moment. That film came out when I was going through one of the worst times of my life and it was just what I needed. Definitely my favorite film. I've always wondered if it was written on the page the way that he says it. Because he delivers the line like he's saying that he's finished with his dinner and calling to his butler to come clear the tray. It's so specific and unusual. I'm guessing that on the page it was supposed to be him kind of muttering to himself or talking to the corpse. My god, what a brilliant film.
