  • I bought a 37 efi driven boss in 2013. It's a hell of a set up. I duck hunt, deer hunt, crawfish, fish etc in it. I'm hard on it but I take care of. I've been in some places I shouldn't have been I've brought this surface drive Damn near to its breaking point on many occasion and it still starts up and still gets me to and from. I've really enjoyed owning it. I've also become friends with some of the staff at boss very good people. If anyone is trying to make a decision on weather to by one or not and live or willing too travel to southwest Louisiana give me a shout ill prove this surface drive to you.

  • Neighbor has one of these on a Carolina Skiff; Its a real handful, the motor can get away from you real easy, and noisy. Now the good part, you can go anywhere with it as you can see.

  • Seeing a lot of hostile comments about environmental impact, as well as comments about why you would want something like this instead of something else. This video is made to show what can be done, not what people will actually do constantly. While an airboat can perform in similar areas, the airboat has a few restrictions. Agility, height, and in some cases noise can be a significant consideration. Jet boats, while they also have a lower impact, are very easily clogged and cannot handle much debris ingestion. This is an ideal drive option for rescue operations in areas where other options just can't get around. People worried about the prop should note that every boat equipped with a propeller can and will shred everything near it, in which case, what is safer? A prop that only just pierces the surface of the water at the same height as the back of the boat, or one that sits below the waterline by about a foot or more? As far as the weeds he went through, Aquatic plants like this are highly resilient, and are probably not nearly as damaged as you would expect.

    • Not to mention that in many cases the aquatic plants are noxious invasive species that spread extremely rapidly and take over everything, causing great harm to the ecosystem. Shredding them with a propeller would have no effect as they grow so quickly, but if it did it would be a good thing.

  • Nice video ! Reminds of when I was young with a very light johnboat with a commercial 25 Johnson on it running up the big manatee river pulling catfish lines for a living 29 years ago .Only my prop was in the water ,I could run about 50 mph and would be on a full plane in 2 seconds flat. Yes fun but I was young&dumb I cracked the stern&every rib in the boat. I would love one of these boats in the video. Aawesome ! Thanks guys

  • Great video, great boat, and great drive. The dog was the best.... what good is all that fun without company? What is that blade made of? Titanium? LOL... The blade root must be an inch thick.... Very practical. Can you advise of the bearing configuration in t he final drive shaft? Is it a back to back thrust bearings then needle bearing at output with double oil seals? Is the prop shaft oil bathed or open with sealed bearing ? Is the a shear pin to protect the gear set?

    @Dobyifyable@Dobyifyable2 жыл бұрын
    • Not worry about stumps with a .125 hull. A stump won’t put a hole but may put a dent. We constantly hit logs and stumps with the lower unit. Doesn’t phase it, because of the toughness of the unit and the way it freely kicks up. Thanks for your comment!
