In this video we take you around my bike shop and show you all of our BMX bikes and we go over everything that you would need to know about buying beginner bikes and even custom bikes that can cost $1,000. We also talk about the different sizes of the bikes and which sized rider should be on which sized bikes! We love BMX and we want to help everyone learn how to buy the bike of their dreams!
First rule: Make sure you have money.

This shop is legit I love how they have custom bikes at a great price wish you where my local bike shop
Do you know where his bike shop is?
Literally needed this!! Im built like big boy and coming back from knee surgery soon, and have wanted to get into this and needed help. Haha you guys got me into bmx after seeing you all ride at 2016 Huntington Beach vans tour. I'm literally like big boy when he was a true big boy but I'll lose weight like he did
What rig did you get?
also if 21 feels small know there are larger frames out there. just not on completes. but macniel used to make a frame called the douce douce 22 inch top tube.
Awesome video Scotty! Love seeing a little change in the content and helping the young ones learn about BMX
Thank the Lord I live somewhat near your shop! I used to race for a few years at the track, and I've bought gear from the store. I'm planning on buying a bike in the future and will for sure come there to see what you guys/gals can do! Thank you for making the video!
43 year old..... Rode GT and Mongoose back in the day, my son will say Thank you for this info!! Subscribed!
Everyone go watch big boys welcome to shadow the ender is insane
sick!
Thanks man I just saw it thanks to you, that ender tho wow, Scotty should give mention it on his channel as well show some love OBB way. I've be subscribed to this channel for 2 year now and it amazing to see how far Alex has come from an over weight teen to a lean fighting machine lol
I’m trash on a bike that is a fact
Wow sick to hear that BigBoy is on the Shadow team! :O
Absolutely insane
Sooooo glad you have big girl, "let me help you" on sight to help.
Dudee thank you so much. decided to start to play with bmx a bit and this for choosing the first one gave a clear view of many things. thanks!
Nice! 30 yrs old and my first BMX bike was from there also, before you owned it. An awesome Hoffman George Jr!! Great job with the selection fellas!
Congrats big boy on getting on Shadow conspiracy that front flip was INSANE DUDE!

PADS. Do one on pads. What pads do you guys ride? There are so many options, and no place to try them on. Good vid.
Supernoob Smith YES
Supernoob Smith my advice is to get fuse protection, best quality from my 10+ years of trying different ones. And don't buy it without trying on in person. Other than that it's all personal, depends on you style of riding, how hard you ride and many more things.
Glad you mentioned Fuse. It's on my list to check out. What do you think of the attached knee/shin. Would that be too restrictive and bunchy.
Yes plz
@@supernoobsmith5718 better buy 2 separate pieces. Sometimes you dont want to mess with knee when you are riding light street or transitions with no tricks. One more advice is to have knee pad with plastic for maximum protection, cause you dont wanna mess up your knees for sure. As for a shin pad you can choose something lighter, with some heavyduty rubber inside or thin plastic. Because shins are painful but it will not cause any serious damage, no surgeries.
Scotty, you are awesome. You've inspired me to ride BMX and your story is so amazing. Keep up the great work
Eleventeenth. Congrats Bigboy on getting signed by Shadow Conspiracy.

You only have one ball?
@@NumbNutz12000 The other is left on the missing seat duh
NumbNutz12000 hahahha I’m dying I was going to say that 😂🤣

I just ordered my first bike from your shop. Can't wait for it to get here 🤘
Congrats on the edit and new sponsorship or whatnot Big Boy! Much deserved imo!

frog war so its 8 month later... do you like it?
This video is actually helpful cus i really want to buy a bmx biker
It's nice to see a video like this. Not many people wanna take the time to do things like this. I hope I get another chance to make it to your shop. It's an 8 hour drive for me but it was well worth it.
Great video guys its really needed to be made, I will visit that store one day hopefully.
Man i wish i had a store like that near me.
I started in 1982 and rode till 93 , used to ride Haros old school and looking to buy a ride just for a carve and some excersise, at 6ft 3 and honestly not a clue about new school bikes (I was Skyway wheels , coaster breaks and gyros bitd) I found this video very helpful and informative and think I know what I am gunna buy .... cheers 👍
Ha thanks guys 😂 love this channel and give me a year and I will hit 49 ... big boy challenge 🤟😬 can he do a cherrypicker drop in ? He’s rad 👍
you can get new mag wheels. for your height 21 inch top tube or larger. you could find a frame and buy a parts kit. could also look into some of the collectible remakes of old bikes sized up for modern riding. they also have some 24 inch options.
Old school riders remember long seat posts....
We have a kink shop here in Colorado. I bought one for my son as he is only 11 cost a good 300. Was looking to get one for myself but didn’t know what to look for and they seemed extremely expensive. Thanks for the video. It explained a lot.
Thx man you helped me buy my first bike, it’s was a confetti color way all black kink bmx launch 2019, very fast and great starter bike, bought it at my local bmx shop chip n dales, best customer service and a lot of suggestions
Thanks for this Scotty. And Congrats Big Boy!!! #RIDEWITHSCOTTY #FRONTFLIPWITHBIGBOY
You should also look for 4130 steel rather than the hi ten Steel used on the cheaper bikes. 4130 is lighter and stronger
My last bmx build was 33lbs and full custom wethepeople in 2004. I've been riding again lately so I'm starting a brand new build of top of the line parts. It should come in around 26 to 27 lbs and better geometry for my size. I'm really excited about it.
Coming from mountainbiking and looking to get into BMX with my sons. Useful information in the video. BMX is so much more affordable compared to mtb!
Ha ha Brilliant i love this video Little Buddy and he 6'4 😂😂😂😂😂
My 10 year old son rides an 18" and loves it.
i have had a kink gap for the last 3 years, love it! and i'm from rochester ny where they're made! winner winner!
This video worked so well I called and bought one of the bikes shown for my little guy... the 16" Cult Juvenile in blue.
One thing I'd like to know is how some of the different angles & dimensions affect how a bike rides. Like, chainstays - how does a bike ride differently with a short one vs a long one? Or, what affect does a one degree difference in seat tube angle make? How do racing bikes and freestyle bikes differ? Is a 24" vs. 20" rim easier or harder... or different to bunny hop & manual"?
😂😂😂😂scotty I love this skit I can't help but die laughing great job bro
I work at a bike shop in Colorado and this is good help for me as a bmx salesman.
I'm really happy to know you guys sell the bike I want ive been looking for Scotty's bike everywhere and all I could buy is the frame
Me: "wow" *clicks on vid* Intro: *shows man covered in what looks like whipped cream*
My first bike was a Haro. Dave Mirra R.I.P
Was Dave affiliated with Haro? My first one was a Mirraco
Mine too.
I'm 9 nine years old and my bike is one of those but I cut my seatpoast and have maxis tires
Is haro still around? I had a haro invert in the late 80s.
@@blue88aw11 yeah haro still exists if im not mistaken premium bikes is actually just haro premium. and haro haro still exists.
This is so awesome. My local bike shop only carries mountain and road bikes now. Kind of a bummer that there's no shop to promote bmx to younger generation around here. When I was younger, I spend sooooo much time at the bike shop, which was only bmx bikes then.
Great Marketing how you set your Store up. I really enjoyed this video. I found it really helpful. Thanks Scotty
hahha i love how matty say small fee bruh i dont even get paid that much
These boys deserve an Oscar 😂
Hell yea Tall Order. Bas is bmx. His KZhead channel and crew always entertains. This content is good stuff. Bmx for life.
my first bmx bike was a diamond back formula 1. it was old and from the 80s but my dad got it for me to race with and it held up and was light as a feather. then my first freestyle bike was a nirve and stephen murray instantly became my favorite rider lol i loved that bike.
My first thought of the naked woman on the tray jones bike was Scotty and Matts sister on the head tube. But I'm sure I'm wrong. but it does kind of seem that way lol.
Eric Marcus I’m glad I’m not the only one who was thinking this. Lmao! 😂😂😂
I was thinking the exact same thing! Scotty was like and he's looking in the mirror and seeing this lady and I'm here like that's not just a lady it's your sister.
Just watched big boys welcome video that was great.
I like how quickly went right into professional mode 👍
Got my bmx bike from your shop and I love it!:D
Where his bike shop or online shop?
12 year old me with a fully solid steel BMX that feels light:well damn
You can always spot an old school bmxer, by the tall seat post. ~88 se floval.
This is true. I'm 45 and I want my seat as high as it goes and laid back 6 inches...with my bars pretty far forward. That's for cruising the neighborhood and looking good on my GT Performer. (At least...that's how it was in 1987 for me)
@@NeilLB7 💯💯
Great video. Very informative! I wish you would have gone over some bmx bike for parents wanting to ride with there kids, like a 24 inch. I'm 6,6 but a little heavier then big boy and love to ride the dirt jumps with my 6 year old son who's learning. I was one of those guys who didnt know what I was looking for lol. It really is all preference tho. Keep up the good work guys!
I love your channel I just subscribed this is my first video and it’s awesome
Big boy WTF, that ender was just to insane!! Congrats you earned it!

I don’t even ride but I want one now , great genuine sales pitch 👍
Thanks Scotty im just about to get into bmx because of you and this helpt a lot 🦑👍
You guys should take a look at bikes from WeThePeople BMX. Very great Quality, and some of the best completes. I drive a Bike from WTP myself and, i love it.

Anyone know if the Framed Attack Pro is a decent beginners bike? Really dig the jet fuel/oil slick look, however can't really afford say a hyper wizard.
The way i see it if your just getting into it just hop on anything you can afford. My first bmx was a framed, learned what I could realized i loved the sport and got a fit.
ive been riding that bike for over one year and the only issues that i've come across is the cranks get loose if you don't tighten them. I would also recommend getting aftermarket petals cause the ones that come with the bike are pretty cheap
Thank you for this video! Love you guys
I have scottys hyper wizard frame in a 20.4". Love it.
hey guys, I want to start bmx but am a total noob. I found an affordable used bike. It's a mongoose, specifically a "menace" from i believe 2009. Is this a pro bmx, would you recommend it, and are mongoose pro bikes or is there different kinds and qualities from this brand? thanks 😉
Jay 2Z mongoose are cheap nowadays bro
Can you do this style videos for mountain bikes? That would be awesome.
Glad you covered guys around 6'5"
Great video,love the energy!
step one: go to store step two: pick a bike step three: buy the bike step four: leave store
😂
step five: ride on highway and get hit by 16 wheeler
im poor
maxisthebest Dude cool
Instructions unclear bought a chicken coop
I have o question do you need hub guards when you have pegs
Yes, it protects the hubs from damage. Be sure to find the hub guards designed to fit your hubs.
In my opinion hub guards are only needed if your grinding concrete ledges. If you are at the skatepark doing stalls then hub guards are not that important
Thanks
I dont have a local skatepark so i will get them
Im glad that big boy is big. Im 6.3 and starting with bmx. So that actually really helped
You should do more video about choosing parts for bmx ! Your advices are very usefull !!
So tall order (UK brand) are charging $1484.97 (£1126) for a complete bike in the UK but way cheaper at the cranmers wtf is that all about 🙄
0ikeva Look at the parts bro, not tall order front hub, can probable guess the rear isn’t the drone hub either, stem isn’t top end and the drivetrain parts are probably mid range. They said it was a high end frame, forks and bars with lower end parts for the rest 👍🏻
What’s the shop called
I wanted to do tricks but also get fast and easy everywhere, so i bought a mtb hardtail and a bmx, best desicion ever
One of my first bikes was a diamond back viper Really cool bike
What if u don’t know where the shop is located
poop
Notification Squad!!!
Wish I knew about you before I purchased my 2022 Hoffman Condor. I would’ve loved to have a custom bike built. Just turned 55 and trying to get back into it. I’ll bring it down to your shop one of these days to see if y’all think something should be upgraded. I’m 6’ and it has a 21” TT.
Congrats Big Boy that front flip was insane
No 22" or 24" bikes? OBB would actually look normal with bigger wheels!
Trevor Kelly - it’s not really a freestyle bmx at that point though
But the 16" and 18" are? Sorry but 22s are BMX and they're perfect for freestyle, street, park and trails. Not so much for flat tho.
David Anderson what? their literally called cruiser bmx? go on dans comp, sort by freestyle notice how their all 20’ tires.
I would love to see big boy shred a 22
“You have to sell a bike with brakes?” Really?
Some bmx park riders don’t use brakes so they take them off, if they’re doing a bar spin and try to catch it they’re hand will hit the brakes instead of the grips. And if they do a double bar spin the wire to the brakes and wheels will tangle and stop the bike from moving. It’s just a pro detachment.
Scotty, you are awesome. You've inspired me to ride BMX but i wish i had bike because me or my parents cannot afford to buy
Maaaannn....I remember my first bmx build part for part...started with a blue 2001 Diamondback Fester (Franko Frame). Super heavy considering i was 12 years old when my dad got it as my Christmas gift...when it was all said and done the only thing left from DB was the frame lol...i ended with Metal Dirty Dirty bars, primo headset, sealed Odyssey forks, Odyssey Hazard rims W/red Odyssey street tires, Profile Blackjack sprocket with sealed Profile 3 piece crank, Primo Meat Tenderizer pedals, FBM bash guard, 3/16 chain, Poverty Sofa Seat, 14mm axles and no brakes....shit was hardcore af in 05 lol
How I got my bmx bike how I bought it I went to Walmart and bought a bike
Walmart bikes are trash
@@breckr1121 I had mine for 5 years doing tricks

Mine was a verde
I got a fit blue Ethan corriere lhd drive coaster bike I got it for 484.99 and it’s 20.75 and I’m 5-9
