$99 Walmart BMX Bike Vs NYC Streets 3

2020 ж. 14 Мау.
4 881 201 Рет қаралды

I went to Walmart and bought a $99 "BMX" Bike to see if it could handle the mean streets of New York City. This bike is a bit more expensive than the first 2 bikes we tested so we made 10 improved street BMX challenges for this bike. The durability of the Walmart bike took us by surprise. We put this bike through some serious testing Follow me on / billyperry631 and SUBSCRIBE

  • Really like how you show this bike's possibilities, instead of just making fun of it and trying to destroy it (and make poor kids feel ashamed in the process, like some channels on KZhead do). With not much more than $100, a kid interested in BMX can get into the sport and learn some pretty advanced tricks, and that's awesome!

    • Well that's not true. I ride a bike for fun, I regularly put it in the back of my 1977 chevy c10 with a gas guzzling built 400hp V8 & drive somewhere fun to ride my bike. I don't think I have used a bike for transportation once since I was old enough to drive a car. If anything I use more gas since getting back into riding because my neighborhood isn't a good place to ride.

      @jonathanhamby6528@jonathanhamby65283 жыл бұрын
    • Jonathan hamby since I’m not legally allowed to drive yet, riding a bicycle is a very good form of transportation for me. So much so that I’m actually delaying the purchase of buying a car, just to afford that better bike I’ve always wanted. I understand what you’ve said by how it uses more gas and all that, but with a bike, you can do so much, and if the police around you are nice, they won’t get mad if you are breaking any laws. I’ve lane split many times in NYC and I’ve seen police pull over motorcycles for it, but not me. Cars are good for lots of things, and so are bikes.

I added a 2inch cowl hood & redid the wood floor in the bed it's a fun truck & if you don't mind turning wrenches you can still build a nice ride pretty affordable. I bought it from a guy who had started building it he had already changed the fenders & some mechanical stuff steering & suspension it was rust free when I bought. It's not a show truck but it's really nice for a 43 year old truck I daily & doing the work my self I've only got about $10k in it. Built not bought & it will always mean more to you!

After the challenges are over then you guys can destroy and surviving bikes. Everybody wins in that situation,we get to see an awesome video of you guys pulling off bangers and we get to see four bikes destroyed too

But we used to set up saw horse benches and jump those. Only about 4 ft top of ramp. But we weren't smart enough to make landings either and always landed so hard.

  • Back in the day, all bikes came with 1" threaded headsets. That "two piece thing" is a quill stem. It can be upgraded to a 1" threadless, but you would need new forks and stem. It should hold up though. Bob Haro's original Haro Master came with that set up. The cranks though, one piece cranks with a loose ball American bottom bracket, I'm surprised you're still alive.

GT, OS Mongoose, OS Schwinn, Diamond Back, Redline, and many more. The BB on this bike is American style, crank parts aren't that hard to find for it yet. I have a 96' ELF and 2 Redlines that use American BB.
