What Happened To The 2006 NBA Draft?

The 2006 NBA Draft has been labeled one of the worst draft classes in history due to many players never living up to their expectations whether that be just because they were straight up bad or got injured along the way. Today we find out what happened to these players both in their careers and where they are now.

    • @@jaredabrahamcidfda4840 You understand what is a "what if", don't you? Btw, B-roy first season with blazers was 06-07. He played 57 games. Blazers record was 32-50, they didn't win the 1st pick because of the worst record, but a bit of luck. I don't think that Roy made any difference that season saying that it was his rookie season and Blazers didn't have the worst record. Also, Lillard pick (6th pick) wouldn't be affected as it was actually a Brooklyn Nets pick. It's a what if, as i said.

  • The issue with Andrea was also how he ended up filling out as a player he became very bottom heavy which meant he lost basically any burst he once had, and he couldn't jump, that mixed with a lack of muscle in his top half made him an awful rebounder and a traffic cone on defense and you simply can't have that with your starting centre nor can you have someone that slow footed play powerfoward, even dirk was pretty athletic in his hayday.

Lowry, Rondo, Millsap was the 47th pick, etc. but outside of Aldridge and Roy, this has to be one of the worst top 10 picks in history. • It's important to mention that that 2015 blazers team was on pace for 60 wins. The blazers ABSOLUTELY put it together with dame/aldrdige/wes/batum/rolo. That team was deadly as hell and a dark horse contender. Of course, this is the blazers so injuries completely derailed every thing. Also aldridge signing with the spurs WAS NOT the right move. They never won a ring with him there, kawhi left, and he screwed over an entire franchise in the process. Had he just stayed with dame, that would have given him so much more to work with. Aldridge leaving the way he did is exactly why the dame era played out the way it did.

  • Yeah, the ‘06 draft class wasn’t great overall, but the Raptors totally wasted the #1 pick on Bargnani. He ended up being a total disaster. And all anyone remembers him for now in Toronto is his pasta commercials. I know it’s easy to look back on it and say that in retrospect, but if I were the Raptors, I would have gone with Aldridge that year. He would have been a better overall fit. I feel like Bargnani was picked as the Raptors way of trying to make a splash, and it backfired hard.
