Very rusty old padlock restoration. This padlock was found by a metal detector. I don't know how old this padlock is, but it looks old. The padlock is very rusty. I decided to restore the padlock. I removed the rust and rebuilt the lock. Made a decorative golden insert. I hope you enjoyed my restoration video.

  • I love your videos. I watch every single one that I can! I do have one small question though....why do you only use Electrolysis for few hours? It will not hurt the metal and the longer you use it the less rust you have to deal with. Why not soak it 24 hours with Electrolysis? Beyond that I love your channel and enjoy watching your work! ESPECIALLY the World War military items which you show incredible respect towards!

  • Um... Ahhh, No. You cannot use safety pins as a permanent spring, next time use a new cheap Mortise lock for spare springs. And internals looked pretty much stock, even with poor spring, but the outside you should have used Steel Epoxy as a filler on the front, and back covers as well as on the shackle, and key. Then prime wet sand and paint. This not a restoration, it's a repair service to make working again. 2/10. Try again.
