"Other Lamborghinis made you feel special, even in traffic. This doesn't" Really?! There was a Huracan parked in the street one day and I saw almost everyone walking by taking photos or staring at it.

+PureDetroit I can't be the only one that gets irritated by people talking about how Lamborghinis look right? They've used the same basic shape since 1980. Everyone likes to talk about how different they all look, but they really don't. At least Porsches actually are the same and just make internal improvements, they don't go around flaunting they're "Brand new" slightly redesigned front intake.

go back and look at the top gear reviews of the gallardo, murcielago, and aventador. you'll see their same whining, it's "Not mental enough", it doesn't "look like a lambo", etc. yet they put a montage of him at the end saying how great those previous ones were? lol... My friend owns one of these and it really is an awesome car

+john smith To be fair, those were the Murci SV and Roadster, Aventador and Sesto Elemento. Aside from the Aventador, The Trio never really had a problem with those three... They had the "Not Mental Enough" Comments with the First Releases of the Murcielago and the Gallardo and those two were rather bland for a Lamborghini.

Isn't that the point of a review? To tackle all the perspectives and not be biased.
He didn't complain about it being either bad looking or bad driving. He said it doesn't capture the soul of being a Lamborghini...and that's a very different thing entirely.
And that is a complete insult to the Huracán!
If it looked a bit more special and drove like an F12 then I think he might have said something a lot more special about it.
He wouldn't complain if the car was both amazing driving and really mad. I'd expect both from a 190k Lambo.
When I saw the Huracan the first time, I had the same thoughts as Hammond. Mostly I didn't like the front lambs. But over the years I get into it and had a testdrive in one and now I'm absolutely loving it!
Its a Lambo for the everyday man, it seems. Even with its pricetag, this is a consumer car and not an elitist car.

My neighbors I think leased an aventador and a Uris (they had em for several months and may still have them but I haven't seen them) and dang seeing em up close is jaw dropping yes.

@@gangweedernigga4012 Absolutely correct. I never said it's the best car. It's the best Lamborghini. Of course it's not street legal, of course it's not an everyday car. But it's the superlative of bonkers in an Italian way. A V10 car, that weighs less than a ton.
I think it looks amazing, the lights look so badass, and those downshift crackles are epic

+Ethan Atia Why do you say that? have you driven it on track? You sound like you are parroting what Hammond said. Watch the Motortrend Huracan review, they drive it on track and it was one of the best cars they have ever had. Also the 488 has turbos, but that just gives you torque which is more of what you don't need while taking away the benefits of natural aspiration.
+Crosby4hyg with the exception of the miura, lambo's should have scissor doors, that way the lambo separates itself from other (or affordable) sportcars.. but due to cross cutting (w/ a 100k+ pounds budget) for this lambo, it doesnt come with the scissor doors, and the look at the back and the side intakes is not that remarkable.. thats what 'the hamster' is saying.. it doesnt look good enough because of the compromises it comes w/ having a more affordable price tag (as compared to other high end lambos) , the front looks good tho

What's wrong about it? And the side intakes?! They look considerably more remarkable than the Gallardo's which were essentially just wire-grided slots, while the Hurracan are chiseled, 3 dimensional scoops. If anything, next to the Hurracan the Gallardo looks pretty boring, which is probably what you'd expect from a new generation Lambo. So nothing wrong with the Hurracan.

They are different. Huracan lost the soul, Aventador lost the fear factor.
Huracan is Top Gear without Clarkson. It may look good still, but lacking the madness is making the show less 'Lamborghini' like. Epic metaphor, Hammond.

Probably because this one is in Vomit Green. That car is gorgeous in real life, except in that particular color.
I also think it is one of the best looking ones but the reason I know I like it so much is because it doesn't have the crazy designs that Lamborghini's usually have which is normal for them but I've never been a fan and the Huracan is very simple design which is why I absolutely love this car.

@@jeffmatas4060 How do cars even lose traction in general? I tried high speed drifting for the first time recently with traction and stability off and couldn't get the tires to break loose at all--and it was raining
I actually agree with Richard and I will tell you why. When the Gallardo first launched back in the day, it was just something else, the design was absolutely fresh and very different looking to its older brothers such as the Murcielago. Don't get me wrong, the Huracan does look very nice and I do like it to some extent, but I feel like what Lamborghini did was to make it look like a junior Aventador if you will. The looks are just way too similar as opposed to being a stand alone design on its own like the Gallardo. I loved the Gallardo especially the 2007 facelift version, I actually thought it was the best looking Lamborghini at the time and even better looking than the Murcielago. The Huracan on the other hand to me just looks like a watered-down version of the Aventador unfortunately. I just feel like it was such a big opportunity missed whereby Lamborghini could have done something even more exciting.

I honestly don't know what Hammond's on about here; I personally think the Huracan is the most beautiful Lambo ever made, and very nearly the most beautiful car ever made. A car doesn't have to be gaudy to be gorgeous, and the stunning angularity and aggressiveness of the Huracan is no exception.
It's an amazing car, but it (as well as the Aventador) don't really give off a true Lamborghini vibe. Not to mention that mass producing them in the thousands deprives them of the exclusivity of owning a Lamborghini. Just my opinion

I have to disagree with Hammond. The Huracán looks epic and it’s the First Lambo I truly live because to the fact that it drives great on the read. They finnaly got the transmission right. It’s my dream car.
Hurcan looks amazing in my opinion. I specially like the tail end of it. One of the best Lamborghini's ever made.
They failed to mention how the Huracan's performance trumps that of the Aventador's. Not a special Lamborghini? I beg to differ.

In the last shot of the car, I love the way it is possible to draw a perfect curvy countour line from the front bumper to the rear of the car. Specially because the car has a very angular shaped body. Gives it an incredibly beautiful stance.

Let me summarize the video: The car is awesome in every way, but they still manage to come up with minor subjective downsides in order to end the review with a sad and disappointed tone.

I was lucky enough to be handed the keys to the Huracan Spyder and take it for a quick spin around the block, and even in Strada mode doing low speeds, this thing was AMAZING to drive...I can only imagine how insanely epic it would be on a highway or a track for that matter.
The final episodes of top gear were really getting somewhere with the editing
I have 3 things to say. 1- he picked the wrong color by him self because if you hear mantis in a color your already know its gonna be green 2- its nothing to do about the style of the car I think it looks beastly in real life 3- and the car has more acceleration than the aventador but not faster

It does on every track I've seen them race on. Aventador is so heavy - yes it pulls and eventually will beat the Huracán - some before (SV) some after the quarter mile depending on mods, but overall the Huracán is better on the launch and in the gearbox than the Aventador IMHO... stock these cars are very close on 1/4 times.

Which is funny because both the huracan and the aventador are holding on strong as they inherit everything from the gallardo and murcielago. The aventador in my opinion is as lamborghini as you can get. I wonder what the next v10 and v12 lambos will look like.

It is, but it is definitely not a murcielago. I mean, it is faster, corners better and is MUCH greener than the murcielago, but it doesn't have that magnificent V12 that roars like a thunderstorm.

they all look like the countach but less radical the original countach from 1971 is still arguably the ultimate supercar design
This Huracan was legendary.
I drove that car in vegas on the track. It is pretty fast but I thought it felt twitchy and unstable. The 458 that I drove that same day, on the same track was a true marvel.
So I went to Rodeo Drive a couple hours ago, saw tons of these. The Hurucan and the Aventador was actually shorter and louder than I initially thought.

I’ve seen this when it came out. I’ve come back to feel the way I did the first time I hear those last sentences from Hammond, because I did feel it that way. Today, I look at the Huracan and I think it is one of the best looking cars out there. So simple lining, still a Lambo. Forever an Aventador enthusiast, though I think Lamborghini is going for some different styling in the next gen...

Ladies and Gentleman may I say that if you are in traffic riding around in this "entry level" Lambo you are going to feel special because everyone is going to be looking at you, even in places that these type cars are common. With a spirited less than 3 second 0-60 time and top speed of 200 MPH the car is plenty fast and it looks just fine. These people are a bit spoiled. Ok, time to cut the grass....

I agree, in my area, the best car i have ever seen is a C7 stingray. But my brother said that he saw an Huracan on the highway today, and i am absolutely furious that i wasn't their to see it and hear it.
3 years ago I drove Huracan 30 minutes at Italy, not on track but between other traffic. It sounded awesome, felt great, almost toi easy to handle on normal traffic😁. Almost best 30 minutes of my life anyway, top 5 moments anyway👍🏻
i always thought the huracan looked ok but the evo and perf have massively improved on the huracans looks especially on the rear

+Patrick O. since he's driven all the lambos made in the last 15 years or so, i'd say he knows something i don't plus, he said its basicaly a perfection when it comes to technology, but i can see what he means by saying 'it isnt so special' - well it isn't. it looks just fine, but he said it well, it's been made to sell, all the others were designed the way they were designed because lambo didn't care what people are going to think of them, even if from some angles they looked a bit odd, or even ugly. thats what lambos should be about, made for lunatics who for some reason didnt want a ferrari, with hurracan, they're directly cometeing with ferrari, which really isn't a good idea.

he did explain. he said that technically it's brilliant, but in its current version doesn't look like a Lamborghini should. It's too plain looking.

I agree the styling isn't quite aggressive enough. If the aventetor was an 11, the revention was a 9, and the sesto elemento was a 7, this one slots in at about a 6.

I'd feel special if I was sitting in a Gallardo in traffic 😂 Or even a Jalpa. The Murcielago is still the best looking a and sounding Lamborghini ever made though 😃

Agreed, remember like it was yesterday back in 03 in australia when in highschool and saw one of the first gallardo's go past for first time. it was a masterpiece and till this day when i see one wacks a smile on my face, When this huracan came out and years later saw a performante i didn't feel that masterpiece spectacular vibe about it, was amazing but was just like every other super car, %100 agreed with hammond !

As a regular person I think this car is mental and i absolutely love driving it. For an "out of the box" car its absolutely nuts, and i certainly do feel special in traffic, even though i cannot see beside or behind the car:/ i hear people yell a lots! haha.

Whenever I watch some of the old TopGear reviews I feel like I went back in time to which whatever the car they're reviewing is, the music, the editing, the video quality, it all screams mid 2010s
This is actually my favorite Lambo design. It's simpler but very aesthetically pleasing.

The 488 is pretty tame as well. It's more of a gentleman's car, rather than a true Ferrari.

+n300zx931 My family owns a Huracan and i drive it quite often. Along with the huracan we have had a Ferrari 458, Granturismo , gt2, and a couple others. And not to bash the Lambo because i also love it but it is infact missing that key aspect a supercar should have. The Ferrari had styling and sound beyond comprehension, the Maserati had an orgasmic note even though it lacked power, and the lambo just sort of lacks what the LP-570-4 kinda had which i felt was a raw powerful feeling car. But hey, the future is here i suppose and all that being said about raw cars i still love the gtrs lol. Its all in the beholders eyes.

The thing about the common man is that they're most likely not going to see a Lamborghini very often, let alone drive one. The Huracan as of today is probably amongst the highest selling and most ubiquitous car for Lamborghini along with the Gallardo. Now being Hammond, who as you've seen just drive a whole bunch of Lamborghinis will probably inevitably have that opinion of the Huracan. I'd probably may or may not say the same thing if I had the opportunity to drive multiple Lamborghinis in my life. That being said, I did once have an amazing opportunity to drive a supercar around a track. Once. It was in fact the Huracan. My verdict? Let's just say if there was any day in my life I could relive, it would easily be that one.
