    • But at the same time, you can sense his sorrow, the way he was truly twisted by all that happened, killing the younglings, the way he felt betrayed by the jedis, how he choked Padme although he loved her... truly one of the most emotional scenes ever. Great acting.

I've been watching starwars all over again this week along with the series cause I wanted to understand what went wrong and idc what nobody says even tho I loved Episode III this part broke my soul😂 I can see it now & It stills hit me, I have to admit tho, darth vader is the only villian that I have a soft side/spot for, & that everytime I saw him I was scared in every movie he'd died, but I was also scared for my other favorite characters, so it was hard for me to watch cause they ended up killing my favorites they sure knew how to play with us😂

    • @@dasuritorres7552uring the other distractions that occurred anakins judgement was poisoned to the point of making what he likely imagined to be irreversible actions after committing them.( aka the jedi temple children and force choking padme.) The emperor courted him behind others backs twisting how he perceived the decisions of the jedi council and the man who raised and trained him. It makes obi wans I loved you line hit even harder. Anakin was already to far gone at this point. All the injury did was set in stone his ideals of absolute and constant suffering he puts himself and anyone he trains through once he rises again as Vader. He sees his constant suffering as an edge that keeps him powerful. Not exactly my theory. Many others have thrown that one around as well since he never gets skins graphs and he never upgrades his cybernetic body even though he has nearly endless resources available to do so. Anyways sorry about the rant. I think these two actors perfectly compliment each other in this scene. One wouldn't really be as good without the other.

    • @@heiniknallkopp9688 Bro, what universe do you live in??? The only great movie in the Prequels is Revenge of the Sith, Ep. 1 and 2 are just garbage (except for Darth Maul and Dooku) because there was no plot enough for both movies (so they put all the politics mambo jambo that nobody cares... And Jar Jar Binks), everything Jorge Lucas wanted to tell was in Ep. 3. While in the Disney trilogy, Ep. 7 is good (not exceptional, but a very good introduction to the new characters and story), Ep. 8 is great (broke some expectations for the sad whining fans) besides the Canto Bight plot filler, Disney Trilogy only screwed up in Ep. 9, bringing angry JJ back and listening to "fans" bs, undoing all the good choices made in the previous movie. Why bring Palpatine back, if Kylo could be the supreme leader and main villain and not turning back to the light? Why Rey must be related to someone powerful if Anakin Skywalker was born like baby Jesus with no father? Anyway, Ep. 3 is certainly top 3 in SW movies, but that won´t save Phantom Menace and Attack of Clones from being the most boring and poor plotted movies of this franchise along with The Rise of Skywalker.

  • I remember seeing this in the theater in 05’ as a seven year old. Everyone was on the edge of their seats because we all wanted to see exactly how Anakin became the masked Darth Vader. When Anakin’s legs got cut off, everyone gasped. It was dead quiet because everyone was so stunned. And once Anakin burst into flames, people gasped again because it came full circle to them. That’s how Darth Vader had to wear his suit. An experience I will never forget!

That is why I personally never felt sorry for what Anakin went through.

    • No they're still pretty much garbage...just because the new disney trilogy is bad as well...but in different ways...doesn't somehow make the prequels retroactively better... Bad writing and dialogue, stiff awkward acting, terrible plot, stupid contrivances and a lazy over reliance on green screen...and the whole thing is so lacking in self awareness...thinking it's Shakespeare or a greek tragedy when in reality it's more like a big budget version of "the room" I have pretty low opinion of the Oscar's and what the industry believes his high art worthy of recognition but anyone who thinks they deserve anything but a "razzie" is blind, deaf and dumb.

It's no coincidence the best star wars film wasn't directed by him and even now no one really recognises how much heavy lifting the other writers contributed to it's success...don't get me wrong...george lucas is a smart businessman (i.E keeping the merchandising rights etc) and true visionary who revolutionised the film industry when he built industrial light and magic...and for that he should always be respected...but he's not a very good writer or film maker...he managed to catch lightning in a bottle and he managed to power and propel an entire career with it... Ultimately though at the end of the day...his legacy is turning a cultural touchstone into little more than mass produced lunch and cereal boxes...all the comics. the extended universe, the lore, all the crap books written by mercenary hacks over the years...it's all cash grab merchandise with no more artistic value or intellectual quality than those cheap empty hollow and plastic lunchboxes...then he sold out "to the souless white slavers at disney" (his words not mine)

The truth is...back then like now...there would literally be a million directors lining up around the block to work on a star wars film...more so as it would've been before george and disney devalued and overexposed the I.P...this was long before the whole marvel superhero shared universe craze and the rise of the Y.A (young adult) franchises etc as well...so it literally would've been a once in a lifetime opportunity. If anything the problem would've have been sorting out all the applications, bids and pitches...and considering how the prequels turned out...anyone even a first time director with no experience might have been better at the job. Also we're just talking about direction and managing a production here...this shit doesn't even address the terrible writing, plot and dialogue which george is entirely responsible for...the truth is he'd become too rich, powerful and complacent, no one challanged his decisions whereas back in the day he had calibrators and had to make compromises..."art through adversity"...star wars didn't turn out exactly as he intended...yet it was magnificent.

    • @@tristanlambert658 that was a complete misunderstanding of Vader's character, and turned him into another generic villain under Disney. Before, Vader had some nuance to him, in that he was extremely LAWFUL EVIL, not chaotic like Maul, who would kill a child. Anakin slaughtered younglings during Order 66, but he hated doing so, as he doesn't obtain his Sith Eyes until he murders the Sepratists Leaders on Mustafar, showing he enjoyed it. Vader tortures people for information and his own personal gain, he doesn't kill without reason, especially children. He would've 100% tortured the kid to draw Kenobi out, but to kill them, is simply not Vader's style. Everyone loved the Rogue One scene where he just mercilessly kills rebels, but that's because they're active combatants and terroists in the view of his Empire. He kills his admirals for failing him, some even after multiple warnings. Never children.

Not only is he in agonizing pain and has to watch Obi-Wan take his property and leave him, but he blames Obi-Wan for not making him stronger to save his mother. He also disliked the hypocrisy of the Jedi of making him commit treason. He also blames Obi-Wan for turning Padme against him and sees him as the reason why she’s going to die. Obi wan thought that everything that was once good about Anakin had disappeared and that this empty shell full of hatred and anger that remained of him should disappear for the good of the Galaxy, to prevent him from spilling the blood of more innocents, Luke then had to finish him off, that's why Obi-wan trained him, but his sacrifice was not intended to create anger towards Anakin within Luke, but simply to die so that Luke and the others escape, since Obi wan knew that Luke wouldn't leave as long as he was alive, and escaping Anakin's wrath without a fight was impossible at that point.
