Simple Anti-Aging Skincare Routine!!
Target Shopping: Anti-Aging
NIGHT ROUTINE:
1. Cleanser - Choose any gentle cleanser that suits your skin type (dry, normal, oily). This one is from CeraVe
2a. Retinol - Apply a small amount 5-6x a week, as long as you’re not pregnant. This one is the fragrance-free option from Neutrogena
2b. Exfoliate - Use 1-2x a week on the nights you’re not using your retinol. This one is from Versed and has lactic + glycolic acid
3. Moisturize - Apply a generous amount of gentle moisturizer. This one is from Vanicream
DAY ROUTINE:
1. Cleanse - You can use the same cleanser or just use water here
2. Antioxidant - Vitamin C is a good option here but you can substitute for other options that protect against free radicals. This one is from Naturium
3. Sunscreen - SPF30+, Broad-spectrum, two finger length amounts! Just find one you like. This one is the hydrating sunscreen from CeraVe (SPF30, not 50)

My husband washes with bar soap once a day and his face is flawless. So unfair.
Men have denser collagen
Same here I have acne prone skin his skin is flawless.
It’s also genetics. I know people who don’t do anything to they’re skin and can eat whatever they want and they still have flawless skin😤
@@annajamjam1383 Yeah but for how long ...
@Mensanaincorporesano jealous
For smooth glowing skin: 1 - Staying hydrated is key. It's beneficial. Try to consume at least 2 liters water every day. 2 - Daily, I cleanse my face with riceeberry face wash from litleextra. Though i skip some times because of lack of patience. While it works, daily application is crucial for results. 3 - I prevent using any soap, etc. on face. 4 - I avoid junk food. 5 - I engage in 30 minutes of exercise daily. Together, these actions contributed to achieving my healthy, glowing skin free from acne, dark spots, and pimples.
I have used this rice berry face wash before and for me, it's among the top face washes I've ever tried. The face wash cleans dirt and excess oils from skin and does not dehydrate skin. The reason behind less leather is that they do not use any type of detergent to generate extra foam similar to other brands.
Love the intense music. Really makes me feel like i have to start my anti-aging routine NOW
Song is 300 violin orchestra
You should start at cellular level instead.
Lol 😝
Makes me feel like marching to Target and loading that shopping cart once again. 🤣
Lol me too!
My exact skincare routine, but with prescribed tretinoin!
Even better!
Same
I'm getting myself some tretinoin after I'm done with Accutane because wrinkles keep popping up out of nowhere!
How do you rub in the vanicream it’s so thiiiiick
@@rebeccacaputo6984 I actually never thought the cream was thick!, there's also the lotion which works the same if you find the cream too thick; I rub it on my hands first then pat my face with it at night, and during the day time I use the vanicream lotion let it sit on my skin then add sunscreen, since sunscreen usually dries my skin out. I've been using both the cream and lotion for about 5 years now and they're the only moisturizers that works for me
Your total is $127.37 will that be cash or credit Me with oily skin: yes
oh just wait until you see some la mer products…. that $127.37 won’t even cover a moisturizer
You are right I was way below the actual price ….
Ugh I also have oily skin
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Wat is the vit C
If all these creams fail you…try Ponds cold cream, blue top, my skin glows, few wrinkles…I’m 64 yo…female!
Does it have fragrance in the ingredients?
If someone is brand new to retinoids, 5-6 nights a week is a lot to start with! Even for an over the counter product.
That’s why he literally said in the video “as tolerated”
@@jennifermae542 yah but it's so subtle and someone whos completely new to skincare wont know how detrimental overdoing it will do to their skin.
Right. Retinol everyday plus exfoliating plus vitamin c everyday is sooo much for a beginner! I’m afraid some people will go out and buy all these things at once and burn their face off
@@thelonercoder5816 exactly right! It's so easy to miss things like that. Or to get overwhelmed and forget.
@@bell4898 it's too easy to see a video online and jump in too fast. With both feet! Aaaand then you're spending months trying to heal your skin barrier!
Love the simplicity of this routine! I’d love to see an accutane routine!
I like cerave hydrating cleanser (same as video) and cerave daily moisturizing lotion in the bottle. I'm on my second round of Accutane now and have surpassed 180 mg/kg cumulative dose this round. I'm so ready to be done but my skin isn't quite ready yet.
ooof beware of the accutane side effects if anyone is planning to take them. sometimes your personality can do a 180
Use any nourishing oils like squalane, jojoba, or marula oil (find one that suits your skin type) and use tons of moisturizer. I just got of accutane and one thing i learned is to keep my skincare routine simple and VERY VERY moisturizing and hydrating ALSO SPFFFF!!!
Seriously be careful to take Accutane/Tretinoin pills. 3 years ago I been treated by those pills and even by topical creams (which has been precrisption by dermatologist here in Europe). of course cautions by dermatologist, and regularly check my bloodstest, but the result was bullshit, I’d never take again if it’s come to pills ( but consider I’m willing to take Retinoids serum in near future after I treat my face with AhaBha). Accutane pills is way too toxic, be really careful, and if I could advice don’t take it those kinds of pills inside of you, be careful for your moods too, your mental too. Loves.

A note for anyone. I started using retinol and vaseline on my face and neck at night in my mid thirties. After a couple years, so many compliments on my beautiful skin.
So were you applying Vaseline directly on top of the retinoid? How did you make it work?
Thanks for the tip. Could you also give some more details and info about it please?
@@deedee2218 If you’re just starting out with retinol or if you have sensitive skin, it’s best to follow your retinol with a moisturizer. Hope this helps! 😊

Baby butt paste works too
Short , concise and very helpful. Thanks for this.
Lol this is literally what I had to put together from watching all of ur videos. Thanks :)
Need one for acne/anti-aging/hyperpigmentation! Tall order!!
Tretinoin is probably your best bet. It tackles all of those issues! I finally went to a derm last week and he prescribed me a tube.
@@kendallstark4302 where did you find your derm? Like a quick look on Google or you got a referral?
@@louisanyame-addo2049 hello! My pharmacist recommended him. I haven't been back to see him since my appointment in March, but the product worked well for me! It was 0.025% tretinoin plus clindamycin, and I made sure to moisturize well, so I think that's why I didn't get any irritation.
@@kendallstark4302 thank you.
@Kendall Stark quick question do you apply moisturizer first or tretinoin first?
Yay!! So happy to see my Vanicream in this video! It seems to be the only cream that my skin tolerates when using my retinoid :-)
Do you use sunscreen if you don't go outside?
love cerave!! the ordinary has great products too and not expensive
Yes I use that cleanser plus the night and day moisturizers. Love it!
Lovely content as always. Love how you emphasize how to get good affordable skincare.
Wish these products were affordable in my country too😭😭😭😭
Love this video, would definitely like to see something similar on acne, if possible. All the pertinent information given. THANKS!!!
YES PLEASE 🙌🙏🙏🙏
Now you're speaking my language! After watching one of your KZhead videos I purchased two of these items! Looks like I got to go get the others!
Simple and affordable, thanks!
Super similar to mine! Am: Cleanser + vit C on dry skin + after 5 min light moisturizer + after a while, suncreen before going out Pm: Cleanser + hydrating serum on damp skin + after 5 min, retinoid+ after 10-20 min, thicker moisturizer!! I’ve been doing it for years and couldn’t be happier
Thank you for your videos! I'd love to see anti aging retinol advice for sensitive eczema prone skin (including for skin of colour as I've heard high retinol percentages aren't advised and best to use lower percentages as its more sensitive? ) if that's possible please. Thank you
Hi! Oil of Olay use to BETA HYDROXY which Black women should use. Retinol is very harsh. See if you can find products with Beta.
Yass!!! That's my plan to simplify my skincare routine. Basic skincare+retinol+vitamin C. Thanks anyway doc! 🙏
I purchased my Cerave skin care items from your last video; hydrating cleanser, vit C serum, retinol, sunscreen and moisturizer. Thank you for the clear and simple information you provide to your audience. 🧡
Hey, do you use vit c serum as moisturizer in the morning and then go with sunscreen?
@@IvanGarcia-xy8kr You can. Some people skip moisturizing in the morning if they think they don't need it OR if their Vitamin C or sunscreen already have moisturizing properties. But then some others do use all 3: Vitamin C, moisturizer, sunscreen.
This helps a lot thank you.
The love the voice of “Let’s go shopping” 😁😁

Love love love this video. Because even though y’all break down what we need giving us THE ROUTINE BREAKDOWN IS GREAT!
Getting good advice from here again :)
For oily skin, prone to break outs, use a moisturizer for oily skin and Cerave has an excellent cleanser for oily skin too👍. I’ve been using Cerave resurfacing retinol at night and RoC vitamin C serum ( with the dropper) in the morning and my skin is so smooth, firm and glowing. It’s like someone else’s skin👍😃👍

🤨 Expensive does not = better. Especially when it comes to skin care💙 Also, all of these products are being recommended by this knowledgeable && trusted Dermatologist for a reason. Of course everyone's skin is different && everything won't work for everyone... but these are all tried && true && continously recommended by professionals (&& customers alike) for very good reasons && provide long term benefits just as much if not more than some overly priced products with the same/similar ingredients.
I lied😬 I have never used nor will I ever support Naturium. But everything else is loved by an endless amount of people. To be fair tho, I have heard that this specific vitamin c serum IS amazing as well... but I will never personally know.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Most dermatologists will force their extremely expensive and confusing products on their clients and then you are so overwhelmed you end up doing nothing. 💓
To my mature ladies, I'm 50. I have been using the Olay collagen Peptide body wash, (sometimes I alternate with the Niacinamide one) for about 6 months maybe ? Let me tell you, I've seen a big difference in my skin. I'm really blown away that this stuff actually works. It even helped the cellulite on the back of my upper thighs. Like, what ??? It's not a miracle wash, but I've seen a pretty dramatic difference. Then exfoliate and use the Gold Bond Crepe corrector body lotion when you get out of the shower. I hope you see just as much of a difference as I have! Also, if you want to brighten your face and reduce dark spots. 'Twine' face serum and eye serum. It's all natural too ...and they actually work !
I wish we had Cerave in our convenient/departmental stores😩😩 but nope its like a high end product for us because of currency difference and is difficult to find in stores,y'all lucky

Short and simple . Awesome Dr
Requesting a skincare routine for dry to dry/combination skin.
Can you please tell us what is the best moisturizer for an older dry skin, for my mom (almost Mother’s Day ).
If she truly has "older dry skin" I would recommend a retinol cream just like the one in the video... it would be the best of both worlds. But then she would still/even more so need to double up on hydration/moisture/possibly a facial oil so her skin doesn't become even dryer. I know it seems kind of strange to recommend something that could dry her skin out even more but retinol && vitamin c are like God sends in the long run🙌🙌 as regular moisturizers don't do much at all && are basically just to lock in the moisture underneath/the amazing products underneath. This routine in the video, regardless of the brands, is so simple yet sooooo effective. But if she already has a set skin care routine then I'd just say definitely something emollient🤷♀️ && Remember, actual long term benefits are always better than instant gratification👍
This is my exact skincare routine at 40yo except I have a prescription from Curology with Trentinoin also! ❤
Thank you so much for this video.
How would you layer vitamin c, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid in the morning? Which is applied first, and is it on wet or dry skin? Is there a quality product with all 3?
Wash your face, pat gently with a towel, and then apply products from thinnest to thickest; allowing layers to dry in between. If using serums, always apply them first and then once FULLY dry/soaked in, apply a water-based lotion to bulk up the hyaluronic acid. If prone to dry skin; once lotion's soaked in, apply a cream or ointment to help seal in the moisture. And there are definitely plenty of products that contain all 3 components on Amazon.
There’s nothing wrong with aging or looking older. Not everyone gets that privilege. Own your wrinkles!
So much information packed into a brief time.
Thanks so much for this!
Hi Drs... my daughter start getting pimples, she’s only 12 can you please make a video what to use for skincare? I use cerave.. do you recommend retinol for her face? Please advice! ☺️ thank you in advance 😘
Hello, my daughter is the same age and she uses tretinoin 0.025% (prescribed by my dermatologist) and a 5% benzoyl peroxide face wash (only in the morning because it counteracts with the tretinoin), Cera Ve wash at night and moisturizers twice a day and uses sunblock.......her skin has cleared up nicely
She did start off using the differin gel also recommended by the doctor that is available over the counter, but we didn't see much as far as results after 60 days so that's why she got the tretinoin.
Love it especially the Vanicream moisturizer my HG.
