Rusty Antique Iron Betel Nut Cutter - Restoration
In this video I restore an Antique Iron Betel nut cutter.I bought this nut cutter at a flea market.Restoration of the nut cutter I started by disassembling all the parts of the nut cutter. I did an electrolysis process to remove rust from all parts of the nut cutter.Hand sanded and then buffed the blade and underside of the nut cutter.The side parts of the nut cutter were blackened by cold bluing.To make the rivets I used some bolts and made three rivets.After restoring all parts of the nut cutter I assembled the nut cutter.

It's BETEL NUT or ARECA NUT.
Makes me smile when they spend ages soaking,wire brushing and scraping only to wire wheel it clean! Why not just put it straight to the wire wheel and save time?.. adds to the effect i suppose

Isn't it betel nut cutter rather than battle nut cutter? Just wondering. Anyway, you did a good job of restoring the betel nut cutter. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work as usual.

I'd call this a transformation rather than a restoration. Personally I'd rather see more of the original patina rather than all the polished metal. Besides, won't those polished parts rust again?
Think you have the word restoration mixed up with ruined. Can someone please tell me how polishing the daylights out of old tools came about.😢😢
