If you call call the hit on Trocheck you have to call the two retaliatory hits by the Rangers immediately following it. Moot point. Personally dont think any of them are penalties.

Peter should have said he needed to re-watch it. Pelech is not a dirty Player in any way and P.L.called the hit vicious. That’s not a vicious hit. Two players who didn’t see each other collided,that’s all it was. A Referee collided with a player the other night,he was knocked out and the player sustained a injury. They never saw each other. Mika returned,the Ref didn’t. Peter should openly apologize about his comments.

Even if he has different thoughts about it now he’s not going to, and shouldn’t apologize, he knows there is a game on Saturday and this a possible first round match up so he’s going to use it fire up the team. It’d look soft by apologizing publicly and you can’t have that going into the playoffs. Pelech is a big boy and knows the business, he can handle it. Maybe in the offseason he sends a text and apologizes privately, but a public apology right now is not going to happen

Most coaches when asked that type of question after a game,will say I’ll have to look at it again,as to not make a false statement. He looked weak,by not acknowledging his Team lost and completely slighted his player Trockck for a penalty that actually happened. Pelech moved on from that incident and doesn’t need a apology. It’s irresponsible for Peter and his emotions got the best of him and really thought he was going to cry. Rempe elbow hit to the head was vicious and injured that player and Peter brushed that off.

In case anybody's wondering, taking a hard hit when you're not ready results in total body nausea for a few minutes, often combined with having the breath knocked out of you so for a few seconds you can't breathe. Not fun. MZ wanted to get away from the fans in case he barfed. Also not fun.
Totally accidental, as Pelech was watching the puck movement and Zibanejad could have easily avoided that.

If you've ever played hockey, blind collisions can happen. It's rare, but it's usually worse because you have no idea it's coming. Imagine just walking out your front door and someone just full on tackling you from your blind side.

As a rangers fan, ngl during the game I thought it was intentional. After the replay I still thought it was intentional, but I thought it was a fair argue on either side. Knowing he’s okay now and getting this vid recommended, I’m leaning more towards that it wasn’t intentional but I still think u can argue either side tbh. Mika looked and saw no one was there so that’s why he thought he was clear. Pelech was skating and then stopped right after Mika checked both ways. It doesn’t look like they saw each other. But on the other hand, pelech may have seen Mika and could have very well of put his arm there knowing it would hit him. Why would he do that? Cause the team was mad at a shoulder check Mika did in the middle of the game. It was like a..get mad in the moment but then watch the replay later and realize it was fine kind of thing. Either way, I think it’s okay nothing was called because it honestly could have gone either way depending on who was the ref at the game reviewing. That board and cross check on troch tho, garbage no call. Overall decent game on both sides, but the refs suck.. on both sides lol😅

That was NOT accidental. Pelech lined him up (by slowing down) to make sure Mika ran into him. It's very deceptive play and it happens from time to time without any damage. Mika was just going too fast.

You simply cannot tell from that angle. Yes Pelech is looking away but we'd need to see a few seconds before to check that he didn't anticipate it.

I’d love to see how far behind Mika Pelech was when he moved to that position. Looks unintentional but to play devils advocate theoretically Pelech sees Mika is heading to the bench and looking up ice and plants himself right in Mika’s path knowing he won’t see him there until the last minute if at all
That’s the dumbest thing I’ve read all day. It’s early but I think it may end up being the dumbest of the week. He’s a defensemen in a defensive posture at center ice. Exactly where he should be when the puck is on the way out like that.
