I bought this item on Dec 8, flew back to Chicago on Dec 10 and took it for repair on Dec 13. It’s now Feb 2 at the time of this upload. The repair rep at Louis Vuitton Chicago, Olivia, was very dismissive of me and never followed up. It's been two months.

For the repair person tell you they don’t accept products back after use is completely wrong! The handle is defective, it should lock in place and can be an issue with this type of pop up handle. They just need to replace the handle.

You can't fix it but i'd take it to the Louis V store in NYC and ask them about the process to fix it. They will need to replace the handle honestly it's no way for you to fix it yourself.
I bought my first piece of luggage in 97. All from Atlanta store. I have had a couple of issues with it but they repaired it. I only paid shipping. It was my understanding it has a lifelong warranty.
I don't know that it's that way anymore but I had issues right away.
What size cover did you buy? Also did they fix your bag or refund you?
I bought the 20 inch cover and they fixed the issue so no refund

Thank you. Now I'm happier waiting for my customized red Horizon 55 replica to arrive. Upset that I paid $620 bcus I then found a site out of Vietnam that sells 4 different versions (black like yours, red like the one I ordered, white Watercolor & the original vachetta leather) for only $250! That p!ssed me off knowing I vastly overpaid but not by thousands. Good luck with getting satisfaction from LV. Paying $3500 + is nothing to sneeze at!👈🏾😔
