I'm tired of buying expensive baskets from supermarkets. I made it myself just as good for FREE

1) I don’t understand why baskets in supermarkets are so expensive. I'll show you what beauty I made.
Everything is done very easily and simply:
- I cut the cardboard with a stationery knife to the length of two napkins.
- I rolled it into a roll to take a rounded shape.
- I glued the joints with paper tape.
- I outlined the round bottom using a frying pan lid. It needs to be larger in size so that it can be adjusted later with scissors. I also used tape to join.
- I applied hot glue to the cardboard, gluing the napkins in stages.
- I glued a jute rope at the top.
- I used the same for the handles. Two braids are woven from it.
Decorated with a cork mug, which is given when purchasing beer.
I really liked how it turned out. The basket does not bend, holds its shape well, and has a roomy size. It looks elegant and presentable.
You can put a bunch of gifts in it for your family.
For now, I’ll put blue spruce branches in it.
2) I saw an expensive basket in the supermarket, took an empty box there and made myself the same one for free.
Any cardboard box can be decorated in this way, and you won’t be able to distinguish it from a store-bought one.
Many people throw them away, but in vain. After all, this is a whole world of creative ideas and transformations.
Interestingly, you can’t carry an empty box through the checkout. I had to check in with the security guard.
It is important that the box is made of corrugated cardboard.
To work, I needed skewers, twine and fabric for the cover.
How to do:
- I measured 2 cm from the bottom of the box, drew straight lines and cut off the excess.
- After about 1.5 cm, I stuck pieces of skewers into the corrugation. The height is arbitrary, depending on the size of the future basket.
- The number of skewers must be odd.
- She began to braid the sticks with twine, like a basket, winding them in a circle through one. Do not tighten the rope too much, but at the same time lay it tightly.
- I made sure that the corners were right.
- When I reached the edges, I hot glued the twine to the skewers. It is better if they are 1 cm free from twine.
- I decorated the cardboard part below with a crocheted braid. You can also make braids using 3 ropes.
- Any fabric is suitable for the cover. I sewed it to the size of the basket.
You won’t immediately guess what the basket is made of. And tell me, how is it different from the store-bought one?
3) I didn’t throw away the cake box, but made a beautiful thing out of it, no worse than in the store and saved a lot.
It’s easy to make a convenient, cute basket yourself from scrap materials. Today I have one that is based on a plastic cake box. I also used fabric, coffee stir sticks, twine and rope.
- First, I hot glued a strip of calico onto the plastic on the outside, then glued it on the inside.
- I cut out two circles from cardboard with a diameter like the bottom of the mold.
- I covered the circle with fabric and attached it to the inside of the basket.
- Another unpasted cardboard circle was attached to the outside as a bottom.
- I glued wooden sticks over the entire surface, any number and distance between them.
- I turned the basket over and glued a circle of fabric, folded it onto sticks. Thus, the product is also strengthened.
- I tied a pigtail out of twine and glued it to the lower sides on top of the sticks.
- Next weaving from rope. Each stick was wrapped with a rope in a circle until the end. I used two colors.
- For the border, I wove a braid from thicker rope and glued it along the edge of the basket outside and inside.
- I made the handles from a piece of thick twine and tied them to the basket, where the stick is. As a result, the auxiliary material is completely hidden.
The basket looks neat both inside and outside. Using this principle, you can make a square or rectangular shape of the product.
