  • They probably accidently wired something in parallel. I'd ask to get that fixed. In one of my apartments in the states the light in my bedroom was wired in parallel with the fan and light in the dining room. So we couldn't turn on the light in the dining room unless the light in my room was on. Took us a few weeks to figure it out.

  • For TokiDoki, or anyone with experience renting in Japan outside Tokyo, do the savings from renting farther out outweigh the increased cost of transportation if you work or go into Tokyo for fun often? I know some (most?) companies will pay your transportation but if you plan on going into Tokyo for fun often, is it still feasible to rent a bit outside or does the cost of transportation just make up for anything saved in rent and you may as well just pay for a closer place?
