  • I would choose the first one. Although I am not a fan of first floors, the neighbourhood looks quiet, chilled and homely enough not to be bothered by anything. I wouldn't mind. I don't like the steep stairs entrances of the other two.

    • Totally! We felt pretty much the same way you did about these 3 places. Although luckily, we didn’t end up choosing any of these ones in the end. 😅

  • As a single person I'd go for number 3. Really good layout and locap connectivity. The bad view is a bit unfortunate and the sound proofing could be an issue. Abroad in Japan said for his apartment in Sendai he could hear his neighbour snoring. So that's not great.

    • Jeff also kinda liked #3 for the same reasons you outlined! But especially since we spend a lot of time working from home, the poor view and soundproofing were definitely issues that can’t be ignored. 😣

  • The first one, the disadvantage of first floor can also be advantage. For example, like social or some other business.

  • Wait...there's a part 2? I already chose apt #1 from that video like, last week. Lol. Anyways, apt #1 in THIS video seem perfect in so many ways. It looks clean and modern, nice location relative to the train station AND Shibuya, and the Financials seem to good to be true. The BIG problem is its a 1st floor unit. That really does feel like a deal breaker. 2 and 3 feel similar enough that it comes down to preference. I like 3 because of the size and layout. That big kitchen and bathroom are amazing, and the genkan being bigger than #2 seals it. I still THINK I like apt 1 from the 1st video the best, but apt 3 and apt 1 from THIS video are the runners-up. 😁😁😁

    • Hahaha, welcome back!!! We are SO glad you still like apt #1 from the first video the most, because that's the one we ended up choosing. We're literally living in it right now! It actually took us a while to submit our application 'cause we were looking at these other apartments... but luckily we still got it! 🥳 Also, one BIG thing we realized through this experience that we don't prefer apartments with narrow stairs inside the entrance. It's too visually and functionally inconvenient in our humble opinion! 🤣

    • @itsjamlife glad you guys got what you wanted!! I actually watched your moving in vid after commenting on this one. Looking forward to the finished product because I like that apt. Having visited Tokyo for the 1st time earlier this yr, I'm so jealous. I feel like living there would be amazing. And, it felt like EVERY stairway in Tokyo (other than in the subway) was super narrow. So yeah, there's no reason to come home and deal with that, too. 🤣😁

  • I would be just as picky if I had to spend alot of my time in my house. If I have the money and I can choose the right one, I will take my time and look at the pros and cons to decide and the best place.

  • I wouldn't choose the first one because being on the ground floor I'd feel as if someone could just enter my appartment through a window or through the balcony. For the other two appartments, narrow stairs makes furniture hard to be moved into the appartment. When I moved into my appartment the movers had to take my bed through my balcony, and it was quite a challenge because I live on the 3rd floor. If I have to choose one of the appartments you showed on this video, for me the view and the light are a big deal, so I'd choose the second appartment with that gorgeous garden view.

    • Wow, thank you for sharing such good points. Prior to you mentioning it, we hadn’t fully considered how moving furniture up the narrow stairs could get so difficult that it might have to come through the balcony 😮 That’s a really important thing to note! Going forward, we’re pretty much ruling out anything with narrow stairs!

  • Another con for a first floor place. Easier to steal from. Which is why the one here had that alarm set up. It is both a comforting and a worrying. Since it also can signify if the neighborhood is a troublesome one. The second one. The kitchen window is too small to operate as an way to escape a fire. With a kitchen layout like that. They should have placed a larger window there. One pro I saw, laundry area. That built in half way can be used to hold the laundry items like soap. Third one. Those walls could be dealt with by using reusable wallpaper.
