  • Cole took this one. But let's not act like Royce didn't show the fuck up as well! The problem is that most of what he's talking about won't resonate with you if you never went to Boblo Island Amusement Park as a kid. It was literally an island. The "Boblo Boat" was these two, big ass, passenger boats that you had to take to get there. Hell, the boat ride was usually more fun than the actual park. That shit was a staple for us in Michigan. And the way he paints the pictures and describes it is EXACTLY how it was back in the 80's. That shit was on it's last stand. Looking back, that shit was a borderline safety hazard lol. But we LOVED it. And Royce's verse took me back to those times perfectly.

    • This isn't a competition, Royce is at a stage in his career where he just wants to make the best music, not out rap his features; he's said this himself. If Royce wanted to murder Cole Lyrically he would've done it; all due respect to Cole. We're talking about the same dude that went toe to toe with EMINEM for an entire album and came out on top in many of those songs. This is the same guy who's in SLAUGHTERHOUSE, arguably the best rap group we've ever seen. If this was some bar fest and they both went off over a hard beat, I would be comparing verses, but it isn't, so just enjoy the great music these two produced, stop looking for "the better verse".

      @jaywilliams6700@jaywilliams67006 жыл бұрын
    • Jay Williams It's ALWAYS a competition amongst emcees in hip hop. Even amongst friends. The problem is the misconception, ie, the way that YOU took it. Competition does NOT mean "battle." It's respectable competition. It's how you get better. Nothing makes you write harder than realizing someone else was stronger than you at a particular moment. I don't even think you realize it, but you basically SUPPORTED my argument in your own post when you said "the same dude who went toe to toe with Eminem for an entire album." You think he was able to do that because he was sitting in there like "I just wanna make a good song." No. He KNEW who he was sharing the song with and knew he'd have to bring his A-game. As did Eminem...he KNOWS Royce's capabilities, so he too, knew he had to step his bar game up as well. That COMPETITION is what made them create such a dope album. They've BOTH mentioned that the other "brings the best out of them." That's what COMPETITION does! It makes you better. And that's what real emceeing SHOULD be about. That's REAL hip hop.

I personally am a J.Cole Stan sand i’ve listened to everything he’s ever made or been on so obviously j.cole for me but Kendrick is known as the greatest rapper of this generation and that’s totally fine because i’m a huge fan of him too
